Am I the only one who wasn't crazy about this little mini-season?
We had WAY too much ack and Kate, the most overexposed characters on the show.
We started really getting into the basis of Eko's character, and then they abruptly kill him off, likely because of the actor's trouble with the law. Notice how his flashbacks seemed to suggest that there was more to his story? His trip to London? But, they had to just drop it, kinda like how we never really found out anything about Libby, since they had to kill her off too.
We had almost no Hurley, not nearly enough Sayid, absolutely no mention of the "numbers", nothing about Desmond's love interest (who was basically the last person we saw at the end of Season 2) and only slightly more informtion about what's really going on on the island (they have access to the outside world, they are a community living on the island, there is a neighboring island, etc.) And none of those revelations were really that interesting, except for their reactions when the plane first crashed.
Also, how fucking big is that island, that they've spent several months there and never discovered the neighboring island?
The first 6 episodes of Season 3 were a major step back, in my opinion. So much so, in fact, that during Wednesday's "mini-season finale", I went to my computer and checked my e-mail and fantasy football teams because I was so fucking uninterested.
I loved Seasons 1 and 2. The rest of Season 3 better improve
I couldn't agree more.
The last few moments of the last episode gave me hope though.
If they are going where I think they are....January's episodes should prove interesting.
