Few thoughts about Pirates 2 and 3:

Comment:
Jack made a deal with Davy Jones to raise the Pearl. Jack would be captain for 13 years, then he would serve under Davy Jones.

Question:
Why did Jack need a ship?

Possible Answer:
Jack wanted to find and/or save his dad.

Possible Answer:
Jack wanted to find the key and the chest of Davy Jones before the 13 years was up, and kill Davy Jones so he'd be free of the agreement.

Comment:
Jack bartered with Tia Dalma many years ago for the compass. This might have been before or when he got the Pearl. The compass is obviously very valuable, and Tia would have demanded a very valuable item in return.

Question:
What was this item?

Possible Answer:
One of the two lockets shared by Davy Jones and the woman he fell in love with. (The locket with the crab face music player, the same one we saw while Will was stealing the key from Jones).

Question:
How did Jack get this item?

Possible Answer:
Jack was somehow involved in a love triangle with himself, Davy Jones, and the woman that Davy Jones fell in love with.

Possible Answer:
Jack stole the locket from Jones when he made the agreement to raise the Pearl.

Question:
What is the importance of these two lockets? What part will they play in Pirates 3?

Possible Answer:
The locket(s) has significant value to Jones [and his former love].

Possible Answer:
The locket(s) hold some magical power that we will find out about in Pirates 3.

How is Barbossa still alive, and why was he with Tia Dalma?

How could Jack still be alive?

What is the relationship between Jack and his father?

What is the history of the Black Pearl? Why did it have to be raised from the depths? Was it Jack's father's ship?

What is World's End?

What was the purpose of the Turkish prison in the opening scene of Pirates 2? (The one Jack escapes from in a coffin).

Why was the picture of the key at the Turkish Prison?

What is Captain Sao Feng's connection to any of the characters in Pirates of the Caribbean?

What object of value does Cutler Beckett need Jack's compass to find?
