Blade : The Series

Anyone else been watching this series (I believe its on on a Weds Night 10ish on Spike). I've just downloaded and caught up with the first three episodes and must say I'm really happy with what I've seen so far. It has a really dark feel to it and as with all good comic-type heroes and villians they really walk the line (i.e. Blade has always had a dark side but so far I've found the main Vampires to have a charming side which makes them likable). Obviously living up to the reputation of the films is immpossible (esp. as Snipes turned down the role) however for a series that is airing on Spike the production values (i.e. sets, lighting, direction, SFX and soundtrack) are top notch and the overall charatarization comes over terrifically well. I'd really recommend the show to anyone with comic-book interests and to most people I know and talk to here.

If anyone else has comments I'd love to hear them.

I haven't seen it yet, I always forget it's on, but I've heard mixed reviews. Most critics don't like it, but that's to be expected.. I've actually heard mixed reviews from comic book fans, but I couldn't caress less if they change up anything from the comics, I'm not too worried about that..

All I want is a good story and cool action sequences. If it delivers on both of those, I'll be happy.

I'm not much of a fan of spin off from films because i think they absolutely destroyed The Crow when they made a few more movies and then a tv series.

Saying that, we don't get things like this over here unless you fork out for satelite and thats a waste of £30 a month if your package includes those damn QVC channels.

I watched one episode and felt completely lost.

I'm going back and trying to find the premiere.

Hopefully it makes more sense after I see that.

It is very continous, I dont think episodes make sense as stand-alone products.

This just finished so there should be series packs available, it is without a doubt a series to rival the films and the best show I've seen since Lost got a bit slow. Anyone have info on whether it's been picked up for a second run? Joe C?
