Robin Williams Still Begging For Joker Role

Robin Williams is desperate to reunite with director Christopher Nolan to take on the role of The Joker in the upcoming Batman Begins sequel. Casting rumors for the iconic villain have run rampant as Paul Bettany, Adrien Brody, Vincent Cassel, Hugh Jackman, Jude Law, Christopher Eccleston, Mark Hamill, Hugo Weaving, Adam Sandler and Sean Penn have all been linked to the project. Williams says:

"On God, I'd love to do that one...You want to do a different Joker. You know, if they do 'Arkham Asylum', it would be amazing. 'Arkham Asylum' is one of the greatest, nastiest comic books ever. It's like the Marquee de Sade on that level, and wonderfully damaged and quite tragic, in terms of when you realise [what happened to] create these characters."

Despite what his name connotes, The Joker is a violent psychopath who should be on Zoloft.

My understanding is that Nolan wants a younger Joker in this films. He's better off with someone like Jude Law or Paul Bettany. If it were a modern day Batman film I would say Williams would be a good bet but now it seems like someone's wishful thinking.

I can't wait for this one to come out. Begins was a very good take on the Batman story. I hope he doesn't screw this one up. Check out this link tho, has some nice looking poster for the new movie

Some of those names seem a little out of place. Mark Hamill, and Hugh Jackman are already known for their other roles (Luke and Wolverine). Adam Sandler doesen't seem the right fit. I think Johnny Depp would be good.

I also agree that he has to be younger, especially if they are going to have Harley Quinn in this one (which I heard).

Right now the rumored front runner is Crispin Glover the guy who played the Dad in Back to the Future and the rat dude from Willard.

Am I the only one who thought Batman Begins was medicore at best? The first 40 minutes were horrible, and Scarecrow was barely in the movie. Thankfully I checked it out with Netflix instead of buying it. Hopefully the next movie is better.

Anyways, maybe Williams could do a good job, Jim Carey did a great job as the Riddler. There are better people out there though.
Visit and shop for video games at my Amazon-based store, also get discounted HD DVDs while they last.

I think glover would look like a good joker, but I don't know about his acting style as a good joker. I think a tall lanky dude would be the right look for joker tonight.
