"30 Rock" scored a 0.0 rating in its debut on German television Sunday night, meaning fewer than 5,000 viewers tuned in for the Emmy-winning comedy.

Making 82 million Germans laugh is never easy, but the debut was below even the lowest forecasts of broadcaster ZDFNeo. The digital niche channel, which is run by public broadcaster ZDF, had made "30 Rock" the flagship entry in a relaunch promising more cutting-edge programing for a younger demographic. But no one, young or old, tuned in Sunday.

The show is hardly a ratings hit in the United States. The series premiere on NBC drew a decent 8.1 million viewers in October 2006. Last week's episode averaged about 6.0 million viewers, according to Nielsen Media Research.

Yeah it doesn't say so it makes you wonder who it's reaching. I remember The Chevy Chase Show had a 0.0 as well I think.

Seriously, did you think this show about an American entertainment business filled with specific and direct jokes appealing to Americans would fit in Germany?

Pretty much sum it up.

I'm guessing the Office wouldn't do too hot either. However, going by the article, it seems like the channel it was on was quite shit too. Maybe it would have garnered a better result if it were on a better channel.

Considering Germany has their own version of The Office, I don't see why the show wouldn't do decent there.

I live in Holland and I watch 30 Rock sometimes, I don't think it's funny. =\ The Office can be hilarious but sometimes I'm not laughing when I know I should be!! =\ Dutch humor is alot more rude usually... =^_^=

Hell, I live in the States and I don't think 30 Rock is funny. Apparently I'm in the minority though, because it's won a shit ton of awards. I dunno, they try to cram this show down our throats. And even here, the ratings for this show are in the like 6.0.

I dunno, there are a TON of shows that get better ratings..but yet it's consistently considered the best comedy out there. *shrug*
