Last winter we reported on talk of plans to convert the original Night of the Living Dead movie into stereoscopic 3-D. Now apparently the powers that bed have decided not to tamper with a classic, but instead, make their own new version to pop out of the screen at you.
According to THR's Heat Vision Blog, newcomer director Zebediah de Soto is planning a "re-imagining" of the original George Romero film, titled Night of the Living Dead: Origins. First of all, I have no idea why anyone would use the Origins title after Wolverine, and secondly, I have no idea why anyone would remake a George Romero film as their first ever feature. I guess boldness ought to be rewarded, but I have my doubts that 3-D will make a new version of a perfectly good classic worth the effort.

Movie was classic, tough one to remake. I'll be there cause I'm a horror mark though.

It isn't even legit 3-D either. Nothing like pops out at you, it just kind of is made with the movie coming out slightly. It just gives everything more depth. This is going to be terrible because all these 3-D movies are directed like shit. Suspect zombies to be reaching at the camera a lot. The remake with Billy Mosly in it is pretty good.
