Yeah, it's raining nothing really to do, wants to go see a movie. So we end up at The Fast and the Furious:Tokyo Drift. This is the 3rd installment of the franchise. I loved the first one, nice popcorn flick, but I really couldn't stand the 2nd one.. why I ended up seeing this really can't be explained, but I actually ended up liking it better then the last one. Story: Young southern boy (who looks like he's about 28) gets into trouble wit racing cars and is sent to go live with his father in Japan. Unlike the other movies in this series, this is about the popular sport of drift racing instead of drag racing. The kid finds himself a group of wild and non-caring friends, including Lil' Bow Wow and also a young girl that catches his eye. He also ends up getting tangled in with the Yakuza and that's where things pick up.. I'll leave the rest for you to see... Characters: I can't really say I liked anyone too much. One young Japanese fellow who plays "Han" was kinda interesting but for the most part there wasn't much character development and when they tried to be serious it failed. They were better off letting Bow Wow do his player schtick. Visual: It was a nice film to watch from a visual standpoint.. I liked how they captured Tokyo in a lot of the settings, the mountains, and the way the races were shot was pretty decent. Definitely shot better then the 2nd film. Last Word: Don't waste your money seeing this in the theatre. There really isn't much to the film, it's pretty bare, not much to the story, but I suppose it'd work as an ok rental on a really shitty day. I give this film...  out of      | |
