Major League is one of those movies which almost everyone has great memories of. Maybe it hasn’t held up so well over time and maybe your enjoyment of it is inversely proportional to how much you actually like baseball, but in whatever time and place the first movie was released… it seemed sort of special. That’s become less and less true with every inevitable sequel. They made two more before they had the good sense to stop doing them after 1998’s Major League: Back to the Minors. I guess time heals all wounds, because here comes the fourth one.
Moviehole reports that the franchise’s manic radio announcer Harry Doyle, has been talking up a Major League 4. Doyle was played by Bob Uecker who, I have to say, I’m surprised to hear is still on this planet. Uecker has confirmed that Major League 4 is in play and that the creative team making it has already contacted him about being in it.
Whether this will be a theatrical release which re-unites the original cast or a budget, direct-to-DVD movie is unknown. The first film starred Charlie Sheen, Tom Berenger, Corbin Bernson, and Wesley Snipes as players stuck on the Cleveland Indians, Major League Baseball’s worst team. They’re a collection of misfits and losers, but it works for them and eventually they defy all expectations to win games. Then they do it again in the sequel, and again in another sequel and now I guess they’ll do it again, though perhaps in a senior league.

They can make it work. Even if they have a whole different cast. I loved all 3 even though the plot lines were basically the same. I hadn't heard about this until now but I am excited to hear what they are going to do and who is going to be in it.

Since it has been 21 years since the first one came out, and 11 years since the last one there is a lot of differences in baseball that they could do. They could do a replacements kind of team or something along those lines. Especially with all the corruption that is going on with the roids era.
I believe it was Jim who said in a thread not to long ago that made me think. Everything is a remake or a sequel of some kind. There is really nothing new in movies anymore.
The Hangover was basically a remake of Bachelor Party to a certain extent. Everything is based off everything.
Easy way to make money. Use other people's ideas,and say their yours.
Lol watching the video on the top 10 worst Indiana Jones moments I came to realize that all those movies were pretty much ripped off from prior movies. Was crazy
