Right now the only future J.J. Abrams project anyone wants to know about is the second Star Trek movie. But hey, he's a man of many interests, and it's looking likely that, before he puts Spock and Kirk on the bridge again, he'll be hanging out with Tom Cruise one more time.
Abrams told TV Guide (via Spoiler TV) that Cruise has asked him to produce Mission Impossible 4. "I am incredibly honored that Tom has invited me back as a producer on Mission Impossible 4. Tom and I have come up with a really cool idea we are pursuing."
It's tempting to make the easy joke about Tom Cruise and his flawed judgment, but hey, Valkyrie was pretty good. And so long as Abrams doesn't get wrapped up in directing MI4, and leaves time for Star Trek, I really see no problem here. Just so long as it doesn't lead to a Cruise cameo in the next Trek film. That would be uncalled for.

Some good movies, but a 4th? ehh...
