Just for lolz, I may end up posting the basics of each script idea that was posted in Fangoria. To say that the story they went with was the best idea, is an understatement. 10 years to create a story and every single story was horrible. I'd be interested in that.
I'm not really much of a horror fan, (though I am a fan of horrorfan...) but I've really enjoyed reading these. I like honest reviews from people who love something. And anybody who disses CGI is fine by me.

I thought Gibb's boyfriends death was the best. First he gets stabbed multiple times, then folded up in a bed.
I suppose I just had some issues with the realism with that death. Although, thinking about realism in a horror movie is pretty pointless to do. However, the gabbed is stabbed a few times, CGI bed fold up which really made me miss Kevin Bacon's death scene and followed up by the insane amount of blood. From the bed to the bathroom, I'll guess it's maybe six feet. So how can there be a large puddle of blood forming under the bathroom door from six feet away? I'm guessing the only way to do this is to break open several arteries. With several knife wounds and being folded up, it's possible. However, if that would of happened, I would assume blood would be all over the place. Yet, it's just on the bed and under the door. It's a death done for shock value with extra gore added in. This is something a young director would do for his first movie. However, Friday and Nightmare should be above doing it.

I'm glad you enjoyed the first review. Personally, with the exception of Freddy vs Jason's review, the reviews improved after the second one.
And yes, I will be reviewing the remake. I will most likely be watching it tonight and a review will come shortly.

Freddy Vs. Jason - What Could Have Been
While reviewing Freddy Vs. Jason, I made mention of a Fangoria article back in 2003 where they went year by year through the planning. The following is the brief rundown of what each script could of possibly given us.

Teenage Megan has her 12 year old slightly handicapped sister, Lizzie kidnapped by a Freddy worship cult for a virgin sacrificing to bring Freddy back. One death includes the person being shrunk to micro sized. Freddy sniffs her up to battle a foe called "Boogerman" The person is killed when Freddy sneezes her out and she crashes against a wall. Jason is strictly a good guy who has Megan throwing her dead bf's heart into Crystal Lake to bring Jason back to life. The final battle between Freddy and Jason occurs in a hell arena inside of a boxing ring. Freddy is shot when a satellite beam sends him shooting into the sun.
Freddy vs. Jason - Friday the 13th: Hearts of Darkness
~1993-1995~
Writer: David J. Schow
Megan becomes Michelle and her sister is now a normal 13 year old. Same deal happens with her being kidnapped by the Freddy cult (Now known as the Fred Heads). Michelle once again throws the heart of her dead bf into the lake to bring back Jason. The Fred Heads now has a leader named Dominkick Cochran.
Freddy vs. Jason - Law & Order Edition (Not the actual title)
~1995~
Writers: Brannon Braga and Ronald D Moore
The events in Nightmare really happened, while Friday was just a movie series. However, Jason really existed, but without people finding out for awhile. Jason is put on trial for all of his crimes. The first link in a back story between Freddy and Jason is created here. As a young boy, Jason watched Freddy and his mom have sex. Freddy beats him once he finds out he was peeping. So years later, Freddy uses Jason to bring him back to the real world. The big ending occurs with them fighting all throughout a shopping mall.
Freddy vs. Jason - Law & Order Edition 2(Not the actual title)
~1995~
Writer: Peter Briggs
Beginning in the 1700's, Jason and Freddy are revealed to be merely tools to a much greater evil. That evil is known as Thanos, Lord of the Underworld. As the new Millennium approaches, Thanos sends Freddy and Jason to earth to wreak hell on earth. Briggs told Fangoria back in 1995 that within the first 20 minutes, both series will see it's largest body count of any film. Alice from Nightmare 4 and 5 returns as well as Jessica and Steven from Jason goes to Hell.
Millennium Massacre
~1996-1997~
Writers: Ethan Reiff and Cyrus Voris
Back to the idea of the Fred Head cult. The Fred Heads scarred off all fingerprints to perform crimes without being caught. Almost a take off of Invasion of the Body Snatchers, no one would know who's a Fred Head at first. Michelle's sister, Lizzie, is now 15. Meanwhile, Dominick Cochran becomes Dominick Necros. Necros uses a drug known as Tetrocaine to induce a mass dream state. Necros escapes a mental institution by putting over 500 crazed maniacs under such a drug. More of a back story is added with Freddy being a counselor at Crystal Lake who molested young Jason. Once Freddy found out Jason was going to tell on him, Freddy drowned him. Thus, creating everything. The film also brings Judge Whitaker finally to the screen. The judge is the one who fucked up the search warrant that allowed Freddy to go free. It was Freddy going free that caused the parents to light his place on fire, thus creating the Freddy nightmare.
Don't Go in the Lake (Acting Title)
~1997~
Writer: Rob Bottin (Major horror makeup man)
Lizzie has now become a psychic who was the one who sent Necros to jail. Once Necros escapes, he goes after her. Michelle has been renamed Julie. Other additions is a drug called Sommambulene that allows people to share dreams.
Don't Go in the Lake (Acting Title) - Revision
~1997~
Writer: David Goyer
Goyer would take Bottin's rough outline and make it into more of a script. Lizzie ages to 18 and is now named Samantha. Julie is scrapped althgoether with Samantha's boyfriend's heart now being used to bring back Jason. Ironically, the boyfriend's name is Jason. Goyer kept the idea of Freddy molesting Jason that Reiff and Voris came up with. To give more meaning to it, Jason is so vicious because he sees Freddy in all of his victims. Both Freddy and Jason lives in both the real world and movie world with everyone knowing of the movie series. Somehow, these movie characters becomes real. Freddy uses Samantha's sleep powers to bring everyone in on the dream. In one of the worst endings ever, it's revealed everyone was just a dream caused by the Somambulene.

Lizzie (Wearing very little) is attacked by a guy wearing a Freddy mask. It turns out it's Necros. Necros is just a fan of the Nightmare series and is obsessed with making them a reality. Haunted by her near killing, Lizzie is given the drug of Somnambulene to help her finally sleep well. With boyfriend, Jason and other friends, she heads to Crystal Lake for some rest (Yeah, great thinking). Necros escapes and heads to Crystal Lake for revenge. HE kills Jason (The boyfriend) and throws his heart into the lake to bring back Jason (The killer). Much like previous drafts, Freddy (Just a teenager at the time) has molested Jason. Jason, even as a young boy loved hockey masks and machetes. When Jason (Young Jason in the past) tried to attack Freddy with a machete, Freddy drowns him.
The Night They Came Home (Not actual title)
~1999~
Writer: Mark Verheiden
With Columbine happening and music/movies/video games being blamed, the character of Necros is instantly dropped from the script. Lizzie is now 18. With it being Halloween time, Lizzie and her friends puts on a serial killer haunted house for everyone to enjoy. However, Lizzie begins hallucinating with the idea that Freddy is coming back alive. Everyone heads up to Crystal Lake and once again the boyfriend is killed off. However, this time Freddy throws the heart into the lake. The back story is still mostly the same between Freddy and Jason. In one of the more interesting moves, the ending of the movie would be different depending on which theater you saw it at. One may have Freddy win while the other has Jason winning.
The Myth of the Bloody Fingerprints (Not actual title)
~2000~
Writer: Mark Protosevich
With Sean Cunningham upset that Freddy Vs Jason still wasn't made, he was wanting to make another Friday (Jason X). Not wanting to see that happen, Protosevich is brought in to write a quick script. For the first time, this is a completely new story. Psychology student, Rachel Daniels writes a thesis paper on myths and legends. The paper ends up being mainly about Freddy and Jason. She puts the paper on the net which after enough people reads it, Jason and Freddy come back to life. Once again, Jason is the good monster trying to keep Freddy from killing Rachel's unborn baby. A new back story is created for Freddy and Jason. It turns out that Freddy and Rachel's mom were the camp counselors who were having sex at the time of Jason's drowning. The sleeping drug returns, but is renamed Somnazac.
Freddy Vs. Jason
~2000-2003~
Writers: Damien Shannon and Mark Swift (Duo who is created for writing the movie)
The film was delayed a couple of times. First due to Jason X and then once New Line old head honcho left for Dreamworks. Their idea was simple, make boy guys scary while keeping the mythologies intact (HA!). The original script had the idea of Jason and Freddy fighting in hell after a giant demon pulled them down from Crystal Lake. For a brief time, Pinhead (Of Hellraiser) originally stopped the fight in hell. In one of the final cuts, Will turns into Freddy at the end of the movie while engaging in sex with Lori. The scene does appear on the DVD for under deleted scenes.

Re: Ch Ch Ch Ch...Ha Ha Ha Ha - Reviewing the Friday the 13th Series
I fucking LOVE Jason Lives and The New Blood. Jason looked the most badass in The New Blood with all his bones and shit visable.
I'm a huge Freddy fan, though, so you can imagine how much I marked at the end of Freddy vs Jason. Too bad the movie sucked, for the most part.
The remake was awesome. I could have done without the unnecessary tit shots and random fucking (but whatever, it's a horror movie, what do you expect) but I was really surprised at how good it was.

Would it have been a Friday movie without those things? To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 20 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.
I agree, though. It was pretty good as remakes go. I laughed hard when the title screen popped up after the half hour intro.

haha, same with the Halloween and Nightmare movies. Gotta have tits and random fucking or the movie just wont be complete.
I think it was one of the longest intros I have ever seen. When it popped up, I had forgotten that it never happened yet, it was so long into the movie.
