Sometimes movies give us an antagonist you end up rooting for. Sometimes, we get a dastardly, confused, paranoid soul that we wish could escape the convictions put against him. In this movie, Mark Whitacre, played by Matt Damon, is an sort of rebelious hero that you wish would escape his contradictions by shutting the fuck up, and I mean that in a good way.
Whitacre discovers a scam in his corn producing company, ADM. He recieves a phone call from a Japanese company warning them of a mole that is planting bugs in the factory and is altering products. The FBI gets brought into this to the dissaproval of the CEOs of ADM. Soon, it turns into an out of control trainwreck for not only ADM, but for Whitacre.
Paranoia is an important emotion in this movie, and it brings out Whitacre's character towards the end of the movie that you didn't expect from the trailers or the beginning. He's a smart man, filled with ramblings and a lot of knowledge. But he is very limited, yearns for more, and very trouble, battling with the investigations of his company and his mental state.
Bravo, Soderbergh, you've done it again.

Taking place one Halloween in a small Ohio town, four stories are weaved together to tell one long tale. In the first, a principle kills a student with some poisoned candy. We follow him as he tries to take care of the body while dealing with an angry neighbor and a needy son. The second, shows a group of twenty-something women as they head to a party. Anna Paquin stars in this segment as the virgin in Little Red Riding Hood garb. While she's looking for a date, she keeps noticing a man in a mask who might just be a vampire. The next story follows a group of kids as they try and pick up pumpkins for UNICEF. This innocent story slowly cranks up the scares as things aren't how they appear to be. Finally, we our given a closer look at the angry neighbor of the school principle as a mysterious short masked person hunts him in his house.
I really wasn't sure what to expect from this. While I have heard a lot of good, the fact that the release date kept being pushed back until the studio gave up and decided to release it straight to video (Out on October 6). With the exception of the original Creepshow, I haven't enjoyed anthology based movies. However, with the way that everything connected with the other stories, it felt like a Tarantino like movie instead. If there's a sub-title to give this movie, it would be "Everything is not what it seems". Surprised twist after surprised twist makes this a pleasure to watch. Seeing this, it disappoints me that it was never released to theaters while horrible movies like Halloween 2 does.
As someone who has seen a lot of horror movies, I'm going to make my thoughts simple. This is one of the best horror movies of the decade.

Plot: The Rocker tells the story of a failed drummer who is given a second chance at fame. Robert "Fish" Fishman is the extremely dedicated and astoundingly passionate drummer for the eighties hair band Vesuvius, who is living the rock n' roll dream until he is unceremoniously kicked out of the band. Twenty years after his rock star fantasies are destroyed, just when Fish has finally given up all hope, he hears that his nephew's high school rock band A.D.D. is looking for a new drummer. They reluctantly make him the newest member of the band, giving him a chance to reclaim the rock God throne he's always thought he deserved, and taking the young band along for the ride of their lives.
Review: Well, this movie suck big balls. I mean big hairy gorilla balls. I don't even know what to say. It just was dumb. Ok, I laughed once. And, I guess I didn't turn it off because nothing was on TV.
Simply put - awesome. Endlessly entertaining and fun. Its got some great characters, well-written dialogue, and obviously a very interesting premise. Its the little things that made it for me, though - the small self-references, the narration, and especially the opening credits. Both Jesse Eisenberg and Woody Harelsen play their roles perfectly, to a degree that I don't know too many other actors who could have pulled off the roles the same. I could probably pick out a few things that weren't perfect, but it was just plain too much fun to do that.

I just finished watching this movie, and I have to say it had some stuff that I really liked, and some stuff I really hated.
The story itself was actually pretty decent, they stuck by the original script a lot, but they added some things. It's much more brutal, which is good. Overall, I think this script was an improvement on the original.
The actors are a whole other story. Kandyse McClure plays the lead female, and wow is she annoying. Very hard to even watch the scenes with her in them. She is hot, but holy crap can she not act. David Anders plays the lead male, and he's not bad. He's a pretty solid actor, didn't mind him at all. Daniel Newman plays Malachai sort of a down grade for me. The original Malachai was creepy as hell, this one ehh had a little personality, but I don't know didn't interest me much. Preston Bailey plays Isaac another downgrade. Preston looks like the kid from the Sixth Sense honestly his acting was annoying as hell, and just didn't fit the role at all. The original Isaac was creepy as fuck, and seemed scummy. Making the kids following him actually believable.
Look the original movie wasn't anything great, just the general idea of it is something that always peaked my interest. After watching this I sort of just felt like I wasted 90 minutes of my life. Not something I'd recommend.

This was always one of my favorite movies growing up, and tonight I re watched it for the first time in several years. Creepy people move into the neighborhood, and Tom Hanks and fellow neighbors try to snoop around to figure out what their deal is. The plot is pretty fun, but very thin. But who cares that's not the point of the movie. The characters are great. Tom Hanks plays Ray Peterson the well thought out neighbor who always tries to give people the benefit of the doubt. Bruce Dem plays Mark Rumsfield. A retired military man who uses his knowledge from the service in his daily life. From the way he dresses, to the weapons he has. Then you have Art Weingarter the fat neighbor who lacks any common sense, and often does stupid things. The creepy neighbors include Hans Klopek the younger brother who resembles a warewolf. Henry Gibson plays The Doctor Dr. Werner Klopek, and Uncle Reuben Klopek who's very high strung. Overall, this movie is really just a fun movie to watch. Don't go in expecting a masterpiece, but go in with an open mind. It's a great movie.

Trick 'R Treat (2008) - Finally got around to watching it, wanted to wait until near Halloween. This movie is totally badass, and so worth watching. The stories are great, and if you are really into Halloween even better. If you have nothing to do on Halloween definitely watch this movie then. The acting is great, a lot of kids but they really come through in their roles. There are multiple stories, all equally great. I recommend this to everyone for the simple fact I don't know how you couldn't enjoy it.

Just re watched this movie last night. And wow, what a movie. Probably because I can just relate to the majority of what it says, and I'm sure everyone has at least one way they can relate to the movie. Great acting, some good philosophical quotes that really make you think. I also like the films shot at humour. Only problem about the film is that it takes at least a good half an hour before it starts to get good, the early stuff is pretty boring. And despite the fact it promotes an anti-God society, the film does sustain a strong connotation.

I'm harsh with ratings, but it's defo one of, if not, my, favourite movie of all time.
I watched this movie for the 2nd time yesterday and let me tell you for not being too big a fan of Jack Black this movie is just killer. Growing up with "churchy" kind of parents and forced to go to church each week I went into seeing this movie the 1st time hearing it had alot of biblical jokes in it. The quote I remember from this movie is right after Cera's character is like Sodom is a forbidden place by god to which Black's character replies with also his god wanted us to chop the tips of our dicks off.
Rating: 8/10- Not the funniest movie I have ever seen but a good funny movie

Is this the first time you have seen Fight Club? Did you already know the twist at the end when watching it? If so, I can imagine it would take away from the flick quite a bit. It doesn't sound like it from your review though. It is a classic flick.
I just watched
The Taking of Pelham 123
I liked it overall as it was a pretty good action flick but I felt it was really far fetched and could have been much better. I like Denzel and Travoltas performances and Gandolfini was great as the Mayor, but the storyline was a bit lacking.
Overall
6.5/10 I'd recommend it if you are bored and not expecting much for a intricate plot.
