NBC and Warner Bros. TV have signed a 13-episode third-season renewal deal on Sunday for the action-comedy "Chuck."
"Chuck" will return next season with a smaller production budget. The renewal haggling between NBC and Warner Bros. TV over the past few weeks has centered entirely on cost-cutting issues, reports Variety.
"Chuck" wstars Zachary Levi as a regular-Joe computer geek who winds up with CIA secrets implanted in his head.
Josh Schwartz and Chris Fedak co-created "Chuck" and executive produce along with McG and Scott Rosenbaum.
I know Balla will be happy haha.

the first season was only 13 episodes as well, but its kay at least it got renewed
The first season was during the writer's strike, so everything lost about 2 months there.

Personally, I want to see them pick up the full 22, but the odds are they won't. I see them pulling another "jericho" with this season which is just going to result in some crappy tv.

Now that Chuck is a bad ass ninja spy..... To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 20 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.
I'd like to see Scott Bakula back for more. Chevy Chase too.
Yeah, I'm not sure how they'll pull off Chuck as a legit spy for this season, a big part of the show was Chuck being absolutly clueless while knowing everything.
Lower production budgets kind of suck to, the polish on he last season was great.

Though Chuck was picked up for a third season, the action-comedy's fervent fans will have to wait until midseason (after the Winter Olympics, specifically) to get their fix. NBC boss Ben Silverman said in a Tuesday conference call that Chuck's cast will not be whittled down to meet a reportedly reduced budget.
Looks like that back 9 episodes won't actually come through if they do this.
Of course, Leno could (theoretically) tank and they may want Chuck to take it's place, but I dunno about that.
