If you haven't already, I strongly urge you to watch the HBO docu-film "Taking Chance" starring Kevin Bacon. One of the most emotionally charged things I have ever watched. It's a simple story, based on real-life events, Lt. Col. Michael Strobl (Bacon), a volunteer military escort officer, accompanies the body of 19-year-old Marine Chance Phelps back to his hometown of Dubois, Wyoming, but is incredibly moving and hits hard.
I had heard so many great things about it and caught it tonight about 10 minutes in and by the end I had a tear or two in my eye. It wasn't until I tuned in at the 10:00 hour that I realized tonight was Military Night and how fitting it was to see this on HBO tonight. I can't recommend this movie enough. If you have HBO you must watch it, TiVo it, DVR it, find it somewhere on the Internet. When it's over if you don't have a tear in your eye and the incredible urge to thank every soldier you see on the street, then check your pulse.
Thank you to all our men and women in the Armed Forces, and to the families of the fallen....your service and sacrifice will never be forgotten.
