When I was a kid, I was pretty convinced that DeLoreans were the coolest cars on the planet-- and also that all of them came with a flux capacitor and Mr. Fusion coffeemaker on the back. Yeah, the DeLorean probably wouldn't be nearly as treasured if it weren't for Back to the Future, but that doesn't mean that the car's eccentric creator, John Z. DeLorean, won't make a great subject for a movie.
Producer Steven Lee Jones has secured the automaker's life rights, and he and David Permut will produce the biopic, according to Variety. DeLorean started his career as a VP at General Motors before creating his own DeLorean DMC-12. The company began to falter when DeLorean himself was arrested in 1982 on drug trafficking charges, even though Back to the Future made the car an icon three years later. And maybe with the proper Huey Lewis soundtrack, this movie will be as entertaining as the movie that made the car famous.

Sounds like this could be an awesome movie. I can't wait.
