Rep Power: 4 | Saw it over the weekend and it was a good movie. Got a kick out of all the artwork in the film, paintings, buildings etc. it's all the stuff I studied in Art History back in high school. Was avoiding reading the subtitles when they lapsed into French, some of what they said was incorrectly translated (I'm fluent). | |

Rep Power: 47 | My girlfriend fell asleep during the movie, as did some guy two rows behind me who started snoring loudly, which was pretty funny. Personally, I didnt get bored at any part at all. As for the "V" in the painting, if Brown is correct, then it's not the be-all and end-all clue, it's just one of many different little tricks that Da Vinci supposedly painted. I also remember from my art history classes that a lot of paintings at the time try to incorporate triangles and multiples of three in them, possibly because of the religious reference to the Holy Trinity. If I'm not mistaken, the 12 apostles are separated into 4 groups of 3, and the negative space between Jesus and Mary Magdalene (as well as the apostle on the other side of him) could be making triangles... | |
