Denise Richards and Richie Sambora are hitting back at rumours they are engaged after they made their first public appearance as a couple.
The pair showed up hand-in-hand at the Fashion Rocks concert in New York City with Richards wearing a huge rock of her own, sparking a media feeding frenzy that the couple were engaged.
Richards' attorney Neal Hersh tells news website Tmz.com, "There is no truth to any rumours that Denise and Richie are engaged. They are not."
Richards filed for divorce from estranged husband Charlie Sheen in March (06), while Sambora is in the process of divorcing Heather Locklear.
The couple, who have been dating for several months, have been spotted together many times by paparazzi, but this was the first time the pair had attended a public event as a couple
