| NBA: Miami Prove Too Hot For Detroit The Miami Heat booked their first-ever appearance in the NBA finals on Friday after a 95-78 win saw them clinch a 4-2 series victory over the Detroit Pistons. It meant the Heat emerged as Eastern Conference winners, ending Detroit's two-year reign as champions. Shaquille O'Neal produced a huge game for Miami, finishing with 28 points, while Jason Williams found his shooting touch contributing 21. The win avenges last year's disappointment at the same stage when Detriot denied the Heat in the dying moments of game seven. Having assumed the lead in the first quarter, Miami were always on top and pulled clear in the third. They will now face the winner of the Western Conference finals, with Dallas currently leading Phoenix 3-2. [Credit: SkySports] |

Rep Power: 12 ![]() | Hell of a game, watched the last quarter of it with some friends. The Heat were playing great last night and the Pistons were playing like shit. Only person on the Pistons who played like they normally do was Rip. Glad to see the Heat make it and I'll be glad when they win the Championship this year. ![]() If they have that same team next year, they'll end up repeating without a doubt. |
