Battlefield 2 Thunders onto X360

April 11, 2006 - Electronic Arts today announced the arrival of Battlefield 2: Modern Combat for the Xbox 360, marking the popular combat series' debut on Microsoft's next-generation console.

Like its past-gen brethren, Battlefield 2 for Xbox 360 offers action-heavy modern military combat with an emphasis on multiplayer fights. As many as 24 players can join the fight online, playing as the United States, the Chinese, the European Union, or the Middle East Coalition. Solo players can keep busy, too -- single-player modes feature "hotswapping" to take control of any soldier in a squad.

Along with improved graphics, the Xbox 360 version adds the three new maps and four new vehicles from December's "Warsome Booster Pack."

"Battlefield 2: Modern Combat delivers the definitive Battlefield experience for the Xbox 360 and offers a great way for gamers to experience the franchise on the next generation system," said EA's Jeff Gamon. "Combining the re-engineered A.I. and the stunning graphics of the Xbox 360 bring the battlefield to life like never before."

Battlefield 2: Modern Combat was developed by Sweden's Digital Illusions CE and EA's UK studio.

Wasn't too impressed with this game on the original XBOX, but I heard that they have significantly improved it for the 360, so I will probably rent or buy it.
