| Woman's Wheelchair Goes Walkies Woman's wheelchair motorway journey A disabled Austrian woman was stopped by police as she trundled along a motorway in her motorised wheelchair. The 43-year-old was stopped by police in Carinthia as she was on her way to visit her uncle in Villach, 20 miles away. Numerous motorists dialled 999 when they passed the woman, with a blanket over her legs and a Thermos flask in her bag. A police spokesman said: "She just said she wanted to visit her uncle and said the motorway was quicker than the country road." She reportedly told police: "I left my home really early because I have a long way to go", before adding, "Is there a problem?" Police have said they will not press charges. | |||||||||||||||
