| Bengals Extend Lewis Deal Cincinnati Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis has signed a two-year contract extension.
Lewis, who had three years left on his contract, guided the Bengals to the play-offs for the first time since 1990 last season, topping the AFC North with an 11-5 record.
Cincinnati lost to eventual Super Bowl champions Pittsburgh in the wild-card round.
47-year-old Lewis, who was the defensive co-ordinator when the Baltimore Ravens won Super Bowl XXXV, guided the perennial under achievers to an 8-8 record in each of his first two seasons.
He said: "My family and I are both flattered and thrilled by the support of (president) Mike Brown and the Bengals organization.
"Our coaches are excited, but certainly not yet satisfied, about our team and the progress we've made to date.
"The stability of our excellent staff will be a key as we continue building toward a world championship team." |
