Stranger

The house was dirty and hideous. The smell of rotten eggs became like fresh air to you if you ever stepped into the hideous and torn apart home, where a dysfunctional "family" had lived though all of the horrible times. The hell hole was hated by all, from neighbors who were disturbed in the middle of the night, to people just passing by to go to work or home. Nobody liked passing by the house that lived the foster children. The "family" never got along, but the smallest child of them all was worse off than all the others.

Everyday he was torchered, everyday he had to go through the same hell as the day before. From older "brothers" teasing him, to his "parents" beating him for something he had not done. It was a miserable life for anybody that lived in the house, especially Nick Daniels, an orphan since he was only a year old. He had gone from being loved and cared about to being hated and abused. It was the ultimate punishment, and everyday, he wonders what he has done in a past life to deserve what he is being given now.

On one particular day, he was able to say that it was easily the most miserable day of his life. He counted up all the miserable days, and this by far took the cake. He was just sitting in his room minding his own business, when it happened, the worst beating he had ever been given. He was only 10 years old, but he wanted his life to be over already. He was sitting on his bed when he heard a screech and a crash. He went over to his window to see what had happened, but saw nothing. His window was blocked by three trees, so he had no clue what was going on. His door slammed open and he was chased by his 6'0" tall dad into a corner.

"Dad": What the hell did you do?

Nick: What? I was just sitting here, I didn't d....

"Dad": Quit giving me this excuse crap, you drove that car into the side of the house!

Nick: What car? I don't even know what's goin...

"Dad": I said shut up, you little bastard! We aren't taking care of you so you can screw our house up. You aren't worth a cent let alone how much we have to pay for ya....

Nick: Shut up, I didn't do anything, quit blaming me!

"Dad": Did you just tell me to shut up? I know I didn't hear that from you, you little shit.

Nick: YES, I DID SAY SHUT UP!

"Dad": Kid, you're about 3 seconds away from death!

Nick: I'm not afraid of you, you asshole......

"Dad": I will give you three seconds to apologise to me, or you're ass will be done.

Nick: Shut up.

"Dad": 1.

Nick: quit!

"Dad": 2!

His dad back handed him, which slammed his face into the wall. He fell to the ground, so his dad picked him up and slammed his head into the wall, followed by spanking him really hard. He then slammed his head into the wall again, knocking him unconscious.

"Dad": That'll teach you, ya little shit.

Those were the last words he heard before he awoke into the hospital, not knowing how he got there or what was going on at all. That would be the last time Nick would see his parents for five years.
