Release Date: June 11, 2010 Studio: 20th Century Fox Director: Joe Carnahan Screenwriter: Joe Carnahan, Brian Bloom, Skip Woods, Michael Brandt, Derek Haas Starring: Liam Neeson, Bradley Cooper, Sharlto Copley, Jessica Biel, Quinton Jackson, Yul Vazquez Genre: Action, Adventure MPAA Rating: Not Available Official Website: Not Available Plot Summary: Carnahan and the Scott brothers say they will use the original premise of the series as the template for an action film. In the original, four Vietnam vets convicted of armed robbery escape from military prison and became do-gooder mercenaries.
The Middle East will replace Vietnam as the place the four did their tour of duty, but Carnahan said the origin story is the jumping-off point.
The original series, which ran from 1983-87 and starred George Peppard, Mr. T, Dirk Benedict and Dwight Schultz, followed an unofficial team of Vietnam vets who will stop at nothing to get the bad guys. Sent to prison by a military court for a crime they didn't commit, these four commandos escaped from a maximum-security stockade and now survive in the Los Angeles underground as soldiers of fortune.
Stephen J. Cannell, who created the show, will produce the movie with Jules Daly, Ridley Scott, with Tony Scott executive producing through their Scott Free banner.
Also producing are and Stephen J. Cannell, the latter of whom created the original TV series.

The A-Team movie has its Hannibal, and he has a British accent. Variety says Liam Neeson is in negotiations to play Col. John “Hannibal” Smith. The character was originally played by now deceased, cigar-chomping actor George Peppard. The trades have also confirmed the rumors from a few weeks ago, and it looks like The Hangover’s Bradley Cooper really is going to be Face.
For the uninitiated, Hannibal is the group’s leader and the guy who usually spouts the A-Team’s signature catch phrase: “I love it when a plan comes together.” Much as I love Liam Neeson, I have a hard time imagining that coming out of his mouth, even if he ditches the British accent. Peppard was the son of a Detroit building contractor, somehow going British with the role, even if Neeson plays an American, just seems wrong. Cooper on the other hand, is spot on casting for Lt. Templeton “Faceman” Peck, the group’s charming front man.
That leaves two roles to go, and they’re probably the two toughest. They’ll have to replace Mr. T as B.A Baracus and they’ll have to find someone great at playing stark-raving mad to take over the part of Capt. “Howling Mad” Murdock. Please, please don’t let them cast Jim Carrey as Murdock.
pretty cool news.

Bradley Cooper is slowly becoming my favorite actor. And Liam Neeson is one of my top five favorite actors! AND HE'S PLAYING MY FAVORITE TV CHARCTER! You can just give Michael Clarke Duncan BA Baracus. And I would like to see someone young like Will Arnett or Chris Pine be Murdoch

So, rumored to be Baracus is Common, who I liked in Smokin Aces and hated in Terminator Salvation. Also rumored to be Murdoch is Chris Pine or Woody Harrelson.
