    Plot Summary: A follow-up to Warner Bros.' 2007 blockbuster "I Am Legend," - The original, made for about $150 million, earned a massive $585.3 million worldwide.

    The intention is for Will Smith to reprise his role as scientist Robert Neville, who was the last man on earth doing battle with a mutated mob in New York City after an apocalyptic man-made virus wiped out the population.

    The film is not being called a prequel, so it will be interesting what story they will tell considering the events that took place in I Am Legend.

    Yeah, it would have to be a prequel. I Am Legend is definitely one of my all time favorites though, so needless to say I'm pumped. It's going to be hard to top the first one imo, but it could be done depending on what their focus is.

    So this is a go now? At last. I know the first film wasn't uhhh, accurate against the story to say the least, but it's still one of my favorite movies ever. However, if they are going to make another I Am Legend film, it begs the question, why not just remake the actual book?

    You're right, Hollywood does not like remaking books, they just opt to remake film after film after film after film after film instead.

    I still remember the movie adapation of Valentine back in 2001. They literally took the name of a book and created a completely original script. After that, new prints of the book had that little sticker "Now a major motion picture".

    same thing they did with cowboys & aliens. the only thing the same about the comic and movie is the title.

    there's an alternate ending on the dvd/bluray that is more like the ending to the book but still it's not like they can be like, "yeah the alternate ending is the real ending guys"

    i have a feeling it will just be a movie about survivors and have flash backs of will smith.

    I'm trying to remember, did Will Smith's character die or did he just become a zombie at the end of the movie?

    Either way, they can bring him back. If he's a zombie, he could become a sort of halfbreed where he still has some human mindsets. If he's dead, finding some home movies where he discusses what happened for easy backstory would be fine.
