Schwarzenegger Courted For Predators
Quote:
Everybody wants Arnie, or at least they do if they’re taking over one of his franchises. McG wanted him so much he digitized him and threw down a CGI Schwarzenegger in Terminator Salvation, and now that Robert Rodriguez is in charge of Predator he’s after Arnie too.
Our friends over at Moviehole have been digging around inside the trash bins outside Robert Rodriguez’s Troublemaker Studios (figuratively), and they’ve discovered information which indicates that Robert has reached out to California’s governor to offer him a part in Predators. They’ve yet to get a response back from Arnold’s office, but that doesn’t mean he’s not interested, just busy.
Predators is what Rodriguez is calling whatever it is he’s doing with the Predator franchise. The infamously awesome Austin director is reportedly against the idea of remakes (I love you Robert, marry me) and so he’s pushing to make this an official sequel to the existing Predator franchise. Because of that, he’s especially eager to get Arnold involved and MH’s sources say he’s already written him a part in the film, in which Arnold would reprise his role as Predator killing badass Dutch.
Re: Robert Rodriguez's Predators (2010) - Preview & Discussion
If Arnold is in it, I hope it's short and sweet. I like the idea of another Predator but I don't know how it's going to work. I'm sure Rodriguez is going to be awesome though.

Production Weekly says that director Nimrod Antal is scheduled to beging filming Predators on September 28 at Robert Rodriguez's Troublemaker Studios in Austin, Texas.
Produced by Rodriguez, the new film is said to involve a very intense group of people stranded on a Predator planet discovering unspeakable horrors - that are not always from outside their group.
20th Century Fox is releasing the sci-fi action-adventure, written by Alex Litvak and Michael Finch, on July 7, 2010.
If anyone else was directing this I don't think it would be as good, Robert Rodriguez will do this movie major justice. Should be amazing.
If that rumor is true about Rodriguez dropping off this it will probably be a total flop. Robert Rodriguez would have added a lot to the quality of this movie, flashy or not, the guy knows how to make a movie interesting.
