Re: Nightmare on Elm Street Relaunch Gets Its Director
Like I said with Heath after the Joker. Someone else can play Freddy, you just can't judge it until you have actually seen the movie. I mean its tough to say no one else can play it when you haven't given anybody else a chance.

Re: Nightmare on Elm Street Relaunch Gets Its Director
Heath wasn't the "original" joker, but he did it just fine. Jack was one of the best in that part, and always will be. Sure, Ledger did great in the role, but it can't compare to Jack's role at all.
As far as the new "Freddy"? Michael Bay isn't a dumbass, he knows he has to do this one right (like he does most of his stuff). We'll see how he pulls this off, but I think he'll do it well enough.
Re: A Nightmare On Elm Street - Preview & Discussion
Ok I am sorry but just because it is a new Actor doesn't mean it is a failure. I am not saying all people think this way, but you have to give people a chance before you judge them. Yes, Englund was a great Freddy, but there are many actors in this world who can do just as good, if not better job then Englund did. It may be tough, but it can happen.
Just like when people said that because Heath Died, no one should ever play the Joker again, that is a dumb comment because you haven't given anybody else a chance. I am just saying, it can be just as good if not better with a new guy taking over. But we will see how it goes, I simply can't wait to see this one. I always loved Freddy.

Re: A Nightmare On Elm Street (TBA) - Preview & Discussion
I actually think this reboot may be a failure with England. Maybe it just needs a new angle on it. Bringing old elements into a reboot of a franchise doesn't make much sense.

'Nightmare on Elm Street' reboot: Jackie Earle Haley to play Freddy Krueger
Watchmen star Jackie Earle Haley has signed on to play Freddy Krueger in New Line's forthcoming Nightmare on Elm Street reboot, EW has learned. The actor, who received an Oscar nomination for his role as a sex offender in 2006's Little Children, will take on the part famously originated by Robert Englund when cameras roll on the franchise's ninth film, titled A Nightmare on Elm Street, on May 5 in Chicago.

This is the guy who was the kid in The Bad News Bears. He was I believe Kelly in that the kid who had the motorcycle, and long hair.
He was creepy as hell in Little Children.

Re: 'Nightmare on Elm Street' reboot: Jackie Earle Haley to play Freddy Krueger
He could look like the Freddy we all know and love, he has the nose, which is the most important part in my opinion. Freddy is my favorite scary movie bad guy. Getting used to a different voice will be a bit weird. Hopefully it's not too different. I kind of wish they would just come up with a new movie instead of resurrecting an old one...but I guess it's pretty guaranteed to sell.

Re: 'Nightmare on Elm Street' reboot: Jackie Earle Haley to play Freddy Krueger
I think this can actually be good. Since it's not a new story, I hope they actually stick to the original film. If he works out, hopefully they can redo Freddy vs Jason.
Re: 'Nightmare on Elm Street' reboot: Jackie Earle Haley to play Freddy Krueger
A very good choice. I figured this would be one that they would mess up if they had to pick a replacement, but I don't know if they could have made a better choice.
