Lindsay Morgan Lohan was born in New York City, New York, on 2nd July 1986, to Dina and Michael Lohan. She began her career at age three as a Ford model, and also made appearances in over sixty television commercials, including spots for The Gap, Jello, Pizza Hut, and Wendy's. Lohan made her acting debut in 1996 as Ali Fowler in the television drama "Another World" (1964). Shortly after, she signed a three-movie contract with Walt Disney Pictures, and was subsequently cast as the estranged twin sisters Hallie Parker and Annie James in the remake of The Parent Trap(1961). Despite being her first feature film, The Parent Trap (1998) was a huge success, earning Lohan a Young Artist award for Best Leading Young Actress in a Feature Film, as well as Blockbuster Entertainment and YoungStar award nominations.

After turning down the role of Penny in Inspector Gadget (1999), she returned to the small screen to star in the made-for-TV movies Life-Size (2000) (TV) and Get a Clue (2002) (TV), as well as appearing as Rose in the pilot episode of the short-lived comedy series "Bette" (2000). Lohan then took a brief hiatus from acting. Her music career was launched during this time, when Estefan Enterprises made a five-album production deal with her in September 2002. At the same time, she was cast opposite Jamie Lee Curtis for another Disney remake, this time of the fantasy comedy Freaky Friday (1976), as disgruntled teenage daughter Anna Coleman. Freaky Friday (2003) was a huge hit, and critics were spellbound by delightful performances from both Lohan and Curtis (who went on to receive a Golden Globe nomination for her work), as well as their hilarious on-screen chemistry as mother and daughter.

Lohan relocated permanently to Los Angeles between projects, and moved into an apartment with fellow actress Raven, after they met and became friends at a photo shoot for "Vanity Fair" magazine. She also dated pop star Aaron Carter for a short time. Lohan's next acting role was the title character in the film Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen (2004), a Disney adaptation of the popular book by Dyan Sheldon. Despite receiving scathing reviews upon its release, even the harshest of critics were impressed by Lohan's charming and flamboyant turn as aspiring actress Lola. Lohan's next project, Mean Girls (2004) will see her reunite with Freaky Friday (2003) director Mark S. Waters, playing Cady Heron, a worldly newcomer to an Illinois High School. She is also set to star in the films Dramarama (2005) , as a gifted drama student in a poverty-stricken family, and Gossip Girl (2005), as popular high schooler Blair Waldorf. In her spare time, Lohan enjoys gymnastics, swimming, ice skating, roller blading, singing, reading, writing, and playing with her siblings Aliana, Dakota and Michael.

Her younger brother is actor Michael Lohan and she has two other siblings: Aliana and Dakota. She is of Italian and Irish descent.

Her mother is Dina Lohan, a former Radio City "Rockette" and Wall Street Analyst. She currently helps manage her daughter's career.

Her father is Michael Lohan, a long-time Wall Street trader who developed his family's multi-million-dollar pasta business, then sold it to pursue funding and development of major studios and independent Hollywood projects.

Provides a track on the soundtrack for Freaky Friday (2003), in which she also stars. The song "Ultimate" is performed by her character at the beginning of the end credits of the movie.

Her mother, Dina, her sister, Aliana, and her brother, Dakota, had cameos in Parent Trap, The (1998) (the airport scene) and Freaky Friday (2003) (the wedding scene).

At age 7, she got to dress as garbage ("Things You Find on the Bottom of the Subway") for a Halloween skit on "Late Show with David Letterman" (1993).

Emilio Estefan Jr. took her under his professional wing in September 2002. Estefan Enterprises announced a five-album production deal and the promise of an aggressive effort to "sell" her popular style "with a rock edge" to a major record label.

A 'straight A' student at school, she excels at math and science. She also enjoys gymnastics, swimming, ice skating, roller blading, singing, biking, reading, writing and playing with her siblings.

Relocated to L.A. and moved in with Raven. "We met recently at the Vanity Fair shoot and got along," says Lindsay. "Our apartment complex has chef and maid services."
