Michael Cole: Hello everyone and welcome to this 3 hour Slammy Awards Special Edition of Monday Night Raw. I'm Michael Cole alongside Jerry "The King Lawler" and we are live from Philadelphia the city of Brother Love.
Jerry Lawler: And what a night we have for you 3 huge matches and not to mention the Slammy's.
JR: And good evening Michael Cole and King I'm Good Ol' JR Jim Ross alongside Tazz.
The match cards come up
Tazz: In honor of The Slammy's most respected award of Superstar of the year the 6 superstars in contention for this award will be competing against each other tonight.
JR: in contention for this prestigious award is Triple H, Edge, Jeff Hardy, Chris Jericho, Batista and John Cena.
Match card comes on the screen displaying Jeff Hardy vs Chris Jericho.
Michael Cole: Jeff Hardy will take on Chris Jericho.
The match card comes up displaying Triple H vs Batista.
JR: And this match will be one to see as Triple H takes on Batista and both these men go way back to the Evolution days.
The match card comes up displaying Edge vs John Cena.
Jerry Lawler: And in the main event it will be champion vs champion as the WWE Champion Edge takes on the World Heavyweight Champion John Cena.
Tazz: And I'm looking forward to that one it's gonna be a blockbuster.
Lilian Garcia: And now ladies and gentlemen to present our first award of the evening for category of tag team of the year please welcome Maria and Festus. Biscuits & Gravy comes on over the speakers and Maria comes out wearing a lovely sparkling black dress and Festus in a pair of jeans a white tank top with a tie and a denim jacket over the top.
*CROWD POP*
Maria: You know it takes a lot to be a great tag team and you really have to be able to work together to function as a proper tag team is supposed to and tonight we are here to honor the best tag team of 2008.
A video package comes on showing the nominees Carlito & Primo, Cryme Tyme and Miz & Morrison then we cut back to Maria and Festus, Festus leans over to the mic but doesn't say anything and just gives a dumb look.
Maria: I think what Festus meant to say was the award goes to.............The Miz & John Morrison.
Ain't No Make Believe comes on and Miz & Morrison make their way out, Morrison is in his signature fur coat and Miz is in a pair of jeans and a nice looking shirt and wearing his hat. The Miz then starts mocking he then slaps him and tells him t get out.
John Morrison: Umm back when we started people told us that we would never make it that we didn't have what it takes. And I'd like to thank Chuck Norris, The Beatles, Jim Morrison.
The Miz: Admiral Ackbar, the list goes on.
Miz: And to all those who doubted us we proved you all wrong this slammy award says that we are the greatest tag team of the 21st century.
John Morrison: And it feels so sweet to rub it in your faces
The Miz: This award says that we are better than DX and that we have surpassed D Generation X.
John Morrison: We are bigger than The Beatles who were bigger than Jesus so that therefor makes The Miz and John Morrison twice as bigger than Jesus.
Ain't No Make Believe comes on and John Morrison makes his way down to the ring.
Lilian Garcia: The following contest is scheduled for one fall and the winner will advance in the Intercontinental Championship tournament introducing first weighing in at 219 pounds from Los Angeles, California John Morrison. Michael Cole: Well John Morrison set to take on Rey Mysterio and the winner of this match will advance to the final of the Intercontinental Championship Tournament.
Jerry Lawler: And how about those comments from John Morrison and The Miz twice as bigger than Jesus, better than DX ever were that's a pretty big call to make.
Then CM Punk's music comes on and CM Punk comes out to the ring.
*CROWD POP*
Lilian Garcia: And his opponent weighing in at 222 pounds from Chicago, Illinois he is one half of the World Tag Team Champions CM Punk. Michael Cole: And if CM Punk wins this he could go on to possibly face his tag team partner Kofi Kingston if Kofi can beat Rey Mysterio later tonight.

Both men get back up Punk goes for an Irish whip on Morrison but Morrison reverses and knocks Punk to the outside with a standing dropkick Morrison then takes Punk down with a slingshot cross body.

Both men slowly get back up as the ref begin to count them out as both men get back up Morrison attempts a clothesline but Punk avoids it and hits Morrison with a knee to the gut. Morrison rests against the ring apron and Punk then runs in at Morrison and nails him with a running knee to the face, Morrison falls to the floor Punk on the apron waits for Morrison to get back up and then nails Morrison with a springboard cross body.

Morrison breaks the hold and both men get back to their feet and Punk hits Morrison with kicks to the midsection Punk goes for another one but Morrison blocks it and then takes down Punk with a single leg take down. Morrison then stomps away at the right leg of CM Punk then goes to the top turnbuckle CM Punk gets back to his feet though and hits Morrison with right hands. Then Punk knocks Morrison off the top rope to the outside with a jump kick to the head, Punk then goes to the top rope and awaits Morrison to get back up Punk then takes down Morrison with a diving clothesline.

Punk and Morrison get back up Punk sends Morrison back into the ring and manages to get back in at the 9 and a half count Punk crawls into the cover and referee Charles Robinson counts 1..2. Morrison kicks out. Both men get back up Morrison's in the corner and Punk hits Morrison with a running knee to the face, then Punk grabs Morrison in a side headlock and attempts a running bulldog but Morrison gets out of it. Punk then attempts a spin kick to the head but Morrison ducks it and hits Punk with a spinning back kick to the head then goes for the cover 1..2.. Punk kicks out. Morrison gets back up and awaits Punk to get back up and then attempts a spring board clothesline but Punk avoids it, Morrison gets back up runs in at Punk, Punk takes down Morrison with a body slam goes for the cover 1..2. Morrison kicks out.
Punk crawls to the outside springs off the top rope and looks for a cross body but Morrison nails Punk in mid air with a dropkick to the midsection.
*CROWD POP*
Referee Charles Robinson gets to a count of 8 before Morrison crawls into the cover 1..2.. Punk gets his left foot on the bottom rope.
We then see William Regal and Layla watching the match from their locker room.
Then we cut back to ringside and both Morrison and Punk are back to their feet Punk lifts Morrison up in position for the GTS but Morrison counters it with a roll up referee Charles Robinson counts 1..2..3.

Jerry Lawler: And I think this match is definitely going to be a good one.
Michael Cole: CM Punk with a cover already and barely got a 1 count Morrison takes down Punk cover by Morrison and barely a count for Morrison as well.
Jerry Lawler: And John Morrison just won the Tag Team of The Year Award what a way it would be to cap off the night for John Morrison if he were to win this match here tonight.
Michael Cole: It would be a huge way to cap off the night for John Morrison if he could beat CM Punk here. Punk going for the GTS can he get him no and Morrison takes down Punk with a ddt.
Michael Cole: And the winner of this match will face the winner out of Kofi Kingston and Rey Mysterio at Armageddon this Sunday. As John Morrison knocks CM Punk to the outside with a standing dropkick and he takes him out with a cross body.
Jerry Lawler: WOW! that cross body by John Morrison was amazing, I wonder how he gets his hair to stay so fine if their was a slammy for hairstyle of the year John Morrison would win that hands down.
Michael Cole: CM Punk with a knee to the gut OOH! running knee to the face by CM Punk WHOA!!! cross body by CM Punk.
Jerry Lawler: OH MY!! I knew this match was gonna be a good one.
~~~~~~~~~ Michael Cole: Welcome back to Monday Night Raw everybody if you've just joined us John Morrison and The Miz won the award for Tag Team of The Year and it's John Morrison vs CM Punk and the winner is to advance in the Intercontinental Championship Tournament.
Jerry Lawler: And just as CM Punk was starting to get something going there John Morrison cut him off.
Michael Cole: And Morrison stomping away at the right leg of CM Punk which he injured during the commercial break and Morrison going to the top turnbuckle, CM Punk's back up though and right hands to Morrison OOOOHHH!!!!
Jerry Lawler: Not only could you hear the impact of that kick to the head but you could feel it and it knocked John Morrison to the outside WHOA!!! WOW! CM Punk pulling out all the stops here tonight.
Michael Cole: What a way to kick off this 3 hour Slammy Award Special Edition of Monday Night Raw, both men on the outside they could both get counted out here Punk sends Morrison back into the ring and he made it back in with only a split second left to spare.
Michael Cole: Cover 1..2. no both men back up now and I don't know how they are still standing as CM Punk nails Morrison with a running knee to the face and Morrison escapes the bulldog CM Punk misses with the spin kick and OH!! Morrison connecting with a kick of his own.
Jerry Lawler: That's gotta be all right there NO! I can't believe CM Punk kicked out of that I thought it was all over right there.
Michael Cole: Morrison missed Punk with he spring board clothesline Morrison takes Punk down with a body slam Morrison off the counter with a cover 1..2. Punk kicks out. Punk to the ring apron now what is he gonna do here spring board cross body WHOA!!
Jerry Lawler: WOW!! I can't believe John Morrison was able to counter the cross body with a dropkick in mid air that was amazing this whole match has been amazing.
Michael Cole: Referee Charles Robinson up to a count of 8 now, Morrison into the cover 1..2.. and CM Punk wisely able to get his foot to the bottom rope. And there you see the Intercontinental Champion William Regal looking on with Layla who are both nominated for Couple of The Year.
Michael Cole: Both these men have got to be running on pure adrenaline right now Punk going for the GTS no wait Morrison slips out of it and rolls Punk up 1..2..3 Morrison wins John Morrison is going to Armageddon to face the winner out of tonight's match between Kofi Kingston and Rey Mysterio.
Lilian Garcia: Here is your winner John Morrison Jerry Lawler: WOW!! what a match that was and congratulations to John Morrison what a night it's been for him winning Tag Team of The Year and advancing in the Intercontinental Championship Tournament.
We then cut to a video of Chris Jericho's attack on John Cena
then we cut to backstage where Todd Grisham is standing by with John Cena.
Todd Grisham: John Cena you just saw the footage of what happened last week what are your thoughts on what happened last week.

John Cena: Those are the exact 3 words Chris Jericho believes no longer exist in this business any more you see Chris Jericho you wanna talk about your little boy becoming a fan of mine while you were injured you see Chris Jericho while I was injured I sat at home with my dog Lou and we watched Raw together and Lou became a huge Chris Jericho fan every time Lou saw Chris Jericho on the screen he would howl in excitement and he would start to lick himself. So I banned Lou from watching Raw you see Chris Jericho I'm sorry if I caused you any problems at home but did you ever wonder why your son was a fan of mine and not yours maybe if you stopped acting like a smug snot nosed little punk your son might like you a little more. If it was Chris Jericho getting beaten up by 5 guys last week Chris Jericho would be on his knees begging Stephanie McMahon to strip John Cena of his World Title. You see Chris tonight I am coming for you and I'm gonna fight you tonight I'm not gonna wait til Sunday I'm gonna get me some tonight, Chris Jericho I'm letting you know now that tonight I am coming for you I just want you to know so it's no surprise and tonight I'm gonna teach you the meaning of the word respect.

Shad: Yeah I don't see no Slammy.
Candice: You know what I'm talking about it was right there just two seconds ago.
JTG: I didn't see no Slammy did you Shad.
Candice goes to look behind JTG's back but JTG passes the Slammy off to Shad in a nick of time.
Shad: Nah man I didn't see nothing.
Candice then looks behind Shads back and Shad passes the Slammy back to JTG Candice looks up to see the Slammy just as Shad was in the middle of passing it off to JTG.
Candice: There it is thank you very much now guys if you don't mind I'd like to present the award.
Candice looks at Shad and JTG and then Cryme Tyme's music hits and Cryme Tyme leave the stage.
Candice: Anyway moving on the award for best finishing maneuver of 2008 goes to Evan Bourne's Shooting Star Press.

Candice: On behalf of Evan Bourne I would like to accept this award.
Michael Cole: Well Evan Bourne has won the award for best finishing maneuver of 2008 but he can't be here because he is recovering from an injury which Mike Knox caused.
Mike Knox's music comes on over the speakers and Mike Knox makes his way out and snatches the award from Candice then snaps it and walks out.
*CROWD HEAT*
Jerry Lawler: Well speak of the devil and look at the look on his face no remorse what so ever and he just snatched that award which Candice accepted on behalf of Evan Bourne and now he just snapped it. Mike Knox is a despicable excuse for a human being.
Michael Cole: You got that right first he sidelined Evan Bourne and last week he almost took out Rey Mysterio and now Rey Mysterio's got ligament damage thanks to that attack by Mike Knox last week and now this.
Randy Orton's theme song comes on and Randy Orton comes out onto the stage with a mic in hand.
*MIXED CROWD REACTION*
Randy Orton: Now you would think that being WWE Champion for four months and winning the main event at Wrestlemania is impressive. But it's obviously not impressive enough to be nominated for superstar of the year, you see I have beaten each and every single superstar that has been nominated for superstar of the year. This shows me a huge lack of resect and it all started back in Evolution Hunter was the star, Ric Flair was the legend, Batista was the muscle and I Randy Orton was the crown jewel. Do you know why Evolutions imploded it was because of their jealousy of me I was the youngest WWE Champion in history and they attacked me because they were jealous of the fact that I was better than them. MVP: Now this losing streak of mine has been blown way out of proportion and tonight it's gonna come to an end. You see it took Philadelphia 25 years to win the title and look at this it's Jimmy Rollins hey Jimmy I just want you to know that you're nothing but a fluke the entire city of Philadelphia is nothing but a fluke. MVP's music comes on and Charlie Haas comes out dressed as MVP.

MVC gets back up in the corner MVP runs in and attempts the running boot but MVC avoids it and MVP's foot gets caught on the top rope MVC grabs MVP by the leg and rolls him up in a school boy and referee Jim Korderas counts 1..2..3.

Michael Cole: Well Charlie Haas has been nominated for best impersonation but which impersonation was the best.
Jerry Lawler: You've got Charlie Haas as "Haas Hogan", Charlie Haas as "CHL", Charlie Haas as "Mr Perfect" and Charlie Haas as "The GlammaHaas"
Michael Cole: That award will be announced on wwe.com later on MVP with a cover off the neckbreaker 1..2 barely got a 2 count.
Tazz: Charlie Haas has so far pulled off MVC pretty well.
Michael Cole: How about what Randy Orton said before the break he put out a challenge to Batista and Triple H who are supposed to be facing off against each other tonight to take on Randy Orton, Manu and Cody Rhodes.
Jerry Lawler: And Randy Orton also said that tonight is the beginning of The Legacy what do you think he meant by that?
Michael Cole: I don't know King we'll have to wait and see as this capacity crowd here in Philadelphia chanting for MVC.
Tazz: Well MVC was starting to fight back for a second there but MVP cut him off and there's the Ballin' elbow drop by MVP.
JR: Cover could be all here no MVC kicked out MVP picks up MVC and throws him to the outside.
Michael Cole: And MVP dropping MVC sternum first across that security wall and now Rollins talking trash to MVP and MVP now talking back and MVP turns around into a dropkick by MVC, MVC sends MVP back into the ring and MVC back in as well.
Jerry Lawlwer: Hey look at this it's the Ballin' Elbow Drop
Michael Cole: But MVP rolled out of the way and now MVP just stalking MVC.
Jerry Lawer: Don't turn around MVC.
JR: OH! MVP missed with that boot MVC avoided it at the last second and MVC with a roll up 1..2..3.
Tazz: What! MVC just beat MVP haha.
Michael Cole: And the losing streak continues for MVP.
Jerry Lawler: Most Valuable Charlie pulling off a huge upset here tonight and look at MVP he is livid.

Lilian: Ladies and gentlemen here to present the award for Most Extreme Moment of The Year please welcome Matt Hardy and Tiffany. Matt Hardy's music comes on and Matt Hardy comes out dressed in a tuxedo and Tiffany is dressed in a beautiful white sparkling dress.
*CROWD POP*
Matt Hardy: You know every year WWE Superstars will pull off a move that will make your eyes pop out of your head but and you just can't believe what you just saw. But the Superstar puts his body and career on the line at the same time which is why we are out here to present the award for the Most Extreme Moment of 2008.
Tiffany: And the nominee's are.
Voice Over: John Cena and JBL's parking lot brawl.

Matt open's the envelope and smiles.
Matt Hardy: None other than Jeff Hardy.
Jeff Hardy's music comes on and Jeff comes out hi 5's Matt then hugs him and takes the award and holds it high above his head.
Jeff Hardy: You know Matt it all started years ago on a trampoline back in North Carolina and it all comes down to this Sunday at Armageddon and I don't care if I walk out I don't care if I crawl out
hell I don't care if I have to be carried out one way or another I'm leaving Armageddon the WWE Champion.
Jeff Hardy's music comes on and Jeff holds the slammy award high above his head and then hands it to Matt shakes Matt's hand one more time and hugs him one more time then heads to the ring.
Lilian Garcia: The following contest is scheduled for one fall introducing first weighing in at 225 pounds from Cameron, North Carolina Jeff Hardy. JR: Well this Sunday at Armageddon Jeff Hardy has a chance to do what he has never been able to do and that is win the big one he's had a few opportunities recently but he came up short every time.
Tazz: And JR I've got a feeling that Jeff Hardy is gonna do it this Sunday he's gonna bring home the WWE Championship, I got a feeling that he's come so close he's gotta be due for a win. And you forgot to mention that Jeff Hardy just won the most extreme moment of the year.
The lights go out and the countdown begins and a huge pyro explosion goes off ad we zoom in and we see Chris Jericho walking out.

Lilian Garcia: And his opponent weighing in at 226 pounds from Manhasset, New York Chris Jericho. Michael Cole: Well Jericho lost his World Heavyweight Championship to John Cena at Survivor Series and this Sunday at Armageddon he's got a chance to win it back.

Jericho then picks up Jeff Hardy and slams him into the canvas then Jericho slaps Jeff in the side of the head. Jericho then picks Jeff up and sends him off into the ropes Jeff comes back Jericho ducks for the back body drop too early Jeff kicks him in the chest jericho backs up against the ropes. Jeff bounces of the ropes agin comes back and takes Jericho out over the top rope with a clothesline Jeff then bounces off the ropes again comes back and takes Jericho out with a suicide dive.

The ref begins to count both men out Jericho manages to crawl to the side of the ring and pull himself up and slide back in Jeff gets back up and onto the ring apron but Jericho knocks Jeff off with a springboard dropkick. Referee Mike Chioda begins to count Jeff out again Mike Chioda gets to a count of 8 before Jeff slides back in to the ring. Jericho picks Jeff up and takes him down with a snapmare then applies a sleeper hold Jeff tries to fight it but Jericho sinches it in and Jeff begins to fade.
*CROWD CHANTS "HARDY"!*
Jeff begins to fight his way back to his feet then hits Jericho with elbows and right hands to the gut then sends Jericho off into the ropes an takes down Jericho with a flying lariat. Chris Jericho: Just as I though John you're a hypocrite you said you were gonna come for me tonight and you have the perfect opportunity right now but you're not going to take advantage of it.
