History of The Real Action Wrestling
Young writer Robert Drulia was publishing material across the web and as ordinary as this may be, there was one extra variable thrown in. Drulia was a wrestling fan. As Drulia's writing expanded and new opportunities arose, he got the chance to meet with Eric Bischoff. The two started talking about a pro wrestling company and it wasn't long before they added another name into the conversation: Paul Heyman. They decided that they wanted something different but something familar at the same time. Paul Heyman was brought in for his unique ideas, Drulia for his new ideas and Bischoff for his mastermind. They decided to throw someone else in the mix too, when they heard about Gabe Sapolsky leaving ROH, they jumped at the opportunity at using his writing style to capitalize on the wrestling part of the wrestling show. As they bounced ideas off of each other as to how it would go about, they decided they'd have to bring in a flux of former WWE stars, who's names were stillfresh in the casual fans minds. They also decided that they'd have to come up with a similar name to the Raw; Real Action Wrestling; or RAW. They soon contacted SunSports to getting a timeslot from 9-11. This of course was on most cable providers the channel directly below USA and with this as wrestling fans look at their channel listing they'll see another wrestling product too. They title situation would be very divided, to point where every wrestling style had it's own division. The last this that RAW wanted to do was contact the World Wildlife Foundation about endorsement, that way as they advertized their product and spewed wrestlers missed by fans, they could mention the familar WWF annicials. It was finally time for RAW to have its first show.
