~News and Notes~

All the superstars who were champions at SummerSlam 2008 held their titles up until the point where they were vacated in December of 2008.

On the first edition of Raw in 2009 there will be two battle royals. Each will contain fifteen superstars, one will be contested for the World Heavyweight Championship while the other will be contested for the Intercontinental Championship. World Tag Team Champions will also be crowned.

No Way Out has been cut from the PPV schedule because I feel that the time between the Royal Rumble and Wrestlemania is the most vital time of the year which should be used to focus on Wrestlemania instead of a secondary PPV in between.

There will be no jobbers per say. Every superstar will win some and lose some. No superstar on the roster will be referred to as a jobber.

Raw and Smackdown will be posted in the following format. Matches will be in recap format while the promos will be posted in full. Pay-Per-Views will be posted in full.

The Raw opening video plays as usual then Raw officially fades onto the air with the camera panning around the arena showing the fans on their feet as the Raw theme plays throughout the arena. A huge firework display is set off from the main stage as the camera then focuses on that before making one more pan around the arena.

JR - Welcome everyone to the first edition of Raw in 2009 !! I'm JR, Jim Ross alongside my broadcast partner, Jerry "The King" Lawler !!

King - Oh that's right JR and these fans here in Chicago are on their feet !! They know what an exciting show we have for everyone here tonight.

JR - That's right King. Tonight we're gonna crown a new World Heavyweight Champion, Intercontinental Champion as well as World Tag Team Champions. All titles are up for grabs tonight folks.

King - Oh you ain't kiddin' JR !! Should be great !!

JR - Also ladies and gentlemen we have two very special one on one matches !! One of them is John Cena vs Batista !! The last time these two faced off as back at SummerSlam last year and tonight they face off one more time !! Also keep in mind that some of the superstars will be wrestling twice tonight. For example some superstars that will be in the World Tag Team Championship match might also compete in either the Intercontinental or World Title Battle Royals !!

King - I can't wait JR !!

JR - Now let's kick off the show with our first match of the night !!

Raw's theme song fades into silence but after several moments Umaga's theme hits the arena and the crowd erupts into a frenzy of boos as Umaga quickly walks out onto the stage. He begins making his way down the ramp.

Lillian Garcia - This match is scheduled for one fall. First making his way to the ring weighing in at 350 pounds, The Samoan Bulldozer, Umaga !!

Umaga gets down to the ringside area, he makes his way over to the steps and stomps up the ring steps. He walks up onto the apron, looks out into the crowd before getting into the ring through the second ropes. His theme slowly dies down as the crowd anticipates his opponent.

King - Who's it gonna be, JR ?

JR - I have no idea. We're about to find out.

All the sudden the lights go out and Christian Cage's entrance video appears on the titantron as his theme begins to play and the crowd erupts into a huge pop as the spotlight shines down on the stage where Cage is standing in his signature entrance attire with his hood on. He begins to walk down the ramp as the crowd cheers.

JR - IT'S CHRISTIAN CAGE !!

King - Oh my god, JR !! I thought he was with TNA !?!

JR - I don't know but the crowd is on their feet. The roof is about to blow off this place !!

Lillian - And his opponent, weighing in at 239 pounds, Christian Cage !!

Cage gets down to the ringside area where he does his signature taunt where he puts his hand above his eyes as if he's blocking the sun from his eyes but he's looking out into the crowd looking for the Peeps. He then points out into the crowd. He walks up th ring steps, onto the apron, points out into the crowd as the crowd cheers. Cage gets into the ring, walks over to the corner, gets up on the second ropes and removes his hood then points out into the crowd as they cheer. He jumps down, removes his entrance attire and prepares for the match as his theme dies down.

**Match One**
Christian Cage vs Umaga

This is Christian Cage's first match back here in the WWE. The crowd is chanting for Christian as Umaga and Cage stand face to face in the center of the ring. The match begins with Umaga without hesitation hitting a right hand on Cage. This is a solid back and forth action packed match. During the middle of the match Umaga hits Cage with his Swinging Side Slam and a splash from the second ropes but that's not enough to put the Instant Classic down for the three. The final moments of the match see Cage and Umaga trading some right hands in the middle of the ring. Cage quickly goes up to the top turnbuckle, he jumps off and hits Umaga with a flying crossbody. He quickly gets back to his feet, pulls Umaga up, hits him with the Unprettier, rolls Umaga over, goes back up to the top turnbuckle and hits him with a Frog Splash directly into a cover for the three count.

Winner - Christian Cage via pinfall (7:03)

JR - Christian Cage is victorious in his first match back here in the WWE !!

King - He did it, JR !!

Cage's theme hits the arena and the crowd pops once again as Cage quickly gets to his feet, climbs up onto the second ropes in the corner and poses for the crowd.

Lillian - Here is your winner, Christian Cage !!!

The crowd cheers once again as Lillian makes the official announcement. All the sudden though Triple H's theme hits the arena and the crowd boos as Cage looks at the stage with a confused look on his face. Cage jumps down from the second ropes down to the mat. Triple H walks out onto the stage in his wrestling gear but with a Triple H t-shirt on. He walks down the ramp, walks up the ring steps, gets into the ring, walks past Christian, leans over the top rope and grabs the mic from Lillian. Triple H turns back around to face Cage. Triple H's theme fades away.

Triple H - Welcome back man !! Long time no see huh ? So how did everything work out for you down in in that indie promotion, ya know the one down in Florida.

Cage grabs the mic from Triple H and Triple H laughs

Cage - Yeah, TNA and yes Triple H, everything did work out fine for me. I became a two time NWA Champion which is more than you can say about yourself.

Triple H laughs for a moment before turning around, leaning over the top rope and requesting another mic. Triple H turns back around with a mic in hand.

Triple H - Good for you man, I'm happy for ya. But ya see Cage, I'm a twelve time World Champion. Incase you can't do math that's five reigns as World Heavyweight Champion and seven reigns as WWE Champion. Which like you said, is more than you can say about yourself.

Triple H chuckles as Cage puts the mic back up to speak.

Cage - Yeah well here's a little history lesson for ya Trips. Just incase you didn't know. The NWA Championship far exceeds anything that you've accomplished. The NWA Championship is the most prestigious title in the world of wrestling. So many greats have held that title Triple H. Even your buddy Ric Flair has held the NWA Championship. So before you start runnin' your mouth about the NWA Championship. Don't forget that the man you love and respect has been NWA Champion so anything bad you have to say about the NWA Championship is not only an insult to me but to all the people who have held that title including Ric Flair.

Triple H - Well that's all fine and dandy because ya see soon as I win the World Heavyweight Championship for the sixth time tonight. I'll become a thirteen time World Champion in total. Infact, tell ya what Cage. After I win that title tonight. You can have first shot at the title at the Royal Rumble. How does that sound, Mr.NWA Champion.

Cage looks out into the crowd as if looking for approval from his peeps.

Cage - Know what ? Yeah. You've got it.

Cage's theme hits the arena as he drops the mic and the crowd cheers for Cage. Raw fades into it's first commercial with Triple H and Cage staring eachother down in the middle of the ring.

{commercial}

JR - Welcome back everyone and up next we've got the match that will decide who the new World Tag Team Champions are gonna be. It's gonna be a great match folks. I'm being told that it's gonna be a TLC Match !! Oh my god, King. This is one hell of a night already !!

King - Wow JR this should be amazing !!

JR - I'm also being told that it will be a Fatal Four Way TLC Match !!

King - Wow !!

JR - Let's hurry up and get this thing started, King !!!

All the sudden the lights near the stage begin to flash as Rated RKO's theme hits the arena and the crowd boos as the stage fills up with mist. Orton and Edge walk out onto the stage. Edge has on his signature entrance attire trench coat and Orton has on his ring gear as well. They begin to make their way down to the ring.

Lillian - This match is a Fatal Four Way Tables Ladders and Chairs match for the World Tag Team Championship !! First making their way to the ring at a combined weight of 485 pounds, the team of Edge and Randy Orton, Rated RKO !!

JR - Edge a master of the TLC Match. He's competed in every single TLC match there has ever been !!

The crowd continues to boo as Edge slides under the bottom rope into the ring and Orton walks up the ring steps into the ring. Edge gets up onto the second ropes in the corner and poses with his signature taunt as Orton does the same in a different corner. Their theme fades away as they jump down to prepare for the match.

JR - Edge and Randy Orton teaming up again here tonight for the first time in a little over a year.

Shelton Benjamin's theme hits the arena and the crowd cheers as Shelton and Gregory Helms walk out onto the stage. They then begin to make their way down the ramp towards the ring.

Justin - And their opponents, first, making their way to the ring at a combined weight of 436 pounds, the team of, Shelton Benjamin and Gregory Helms, The Carolina Connection !!!

The crowd cheers once again as both Shelton and Helms get into the ring to face their opponents. Their theme begins to fade away after several moments.

JR - Shelton Benjamin and Gregory Helms formed a tag team late last year and they named themselves The Carolina Connection since Shelton is from South Carolina and Helms is from North Carolina. These two young men are two tremendous athletes and one hell of a team !!

The Hooligan's theme suddenly hits the arena and the crowd erupts into a massive pop as they run out onto the stage, down the ramp and slide into the ring under the bottom rope.

Lillian - Secondly, weighing in at a combined weight of 389 pounds, the team of Brian Kendrick and Paul London, The Hooligans !!!

The crowd cheers once again as their theme fades away and they prepare for the match.

JR - These two young men are two very talented athletes. They've been former WWE Tag Team Champions and World Tag Team Champions. They were the longest reigning WWE Tag Team Champions in Smackdown history back when that title was active.

Cryme Tyme's theme hits the arena and the crowd cheers as they dance out onto the stage with their signature attire on. They begin dancing down the ramp way as the crowd is cheering for them.

Lillian - Finally, weighing in at a combined weight of 530 pounds, Shad and JTG, Cryme Tyme !!!!!

JR - Cryme Tyme have never been tag champs here in the WWE and they hope to become champions tonight. Let's see if they can do it.

JTG and Shad finish making their way down the ramp and then they get into the ring. Their theme quickly fades away as Lillian gets out of the ring, the referee has the two tag belts in hand, he hangs them on the rope then calls for it to be raised into the air.

**Match Two**
-World Tag Team Championship; TLC Match-
Rated RKO vs The Carolina Connection vs The Hooligans vs Cryme Tyme

This is a very action packed high impact TLC match. Lots of chairs being used in the match. Several high flying spots by London and Kendrick including a Shooting Star Press off the top of a ladder. There is also a table spot that included Orton being pushed off a ladder down into two tables. The final moments of the match see Orton fighting with Shelton on the top of the ladder. Orton grabs the head of Shelton and hits him with an RKO off the top of the ladder. Shelton rolls out of the ring. Cryme Tyme is also laid out on the outside of the ring. London quickly climbs into the ring and begins to climb up the ladder. Edge sets up a ladder next to the ladder that London is on. Edge jumps off and spears London off the side of the ladder. Edge after several moments, gets back up, climbs to the top of the ladder and grabs the two tag belts as Orton is pulling himself up with the ropes.

Winners and NEW World Tag Team Champions - Rated RKO (32:57)

JR - Rated RKO are the new World Tag Team Champions for the second time together !! What a match !!

King - Oh my god JR Rated RKO has climbed to the top of the mountain once again and has regained the World Tag Team Championships !!

Rated RKO's theme hits the arena as the crowd boos. Edge begins to climb back down the ladder. Orton runs over and grabs his title belt from Edge. Both men celebrate in the ring while the crowd boos.

Lillian - Here are your winners and new World Tag Team Champions, Edge and Randy Orton, Rated RKO !!!

Edge and Orton continue to celebrate in the ring with their newly won tag titles. Raw fades into a commercial with theme celebrating their hard fought victory.

We come back from commercial with fifteen men already in the ring and Lillian standing in front of the announce table.

JR - Welcome back everyone and right now we're gonna have the fifteen over the top rope battle royal match for the Intercontinental Championship !!

Lillian - Ladies and Gentlemen, this match is a fifteen man over the top rope battle royal match and it is for the WWE Intercontinental Championship !!!

Lillian takes her seat at ringside as the referee calls for the bell.

Burke's theme hits the arena and the crowd boos as Burke celebrates with his newly won Intercontinental Championship and his first title in the WWE.

Lillian - Here is your winner and new Intercontinental Champion, Elijah Burke !!

Burke continues to celebrate his victory as the crowd boos. Raw fades into a commercial with Burke standing up on the second ropes holding his title up in the air.

JR - Welcome back everyone and up next we've got the clash of the titans. It's Batista going one on one with John Cena !!

King - Oh man this should be a great match, JR.

JR - No doubt about it, should be an absolute slobber knocker !!

King - Hey you haven't said that one in awhile !!

Batista's theme hits the arena and the crowd erupts into a huge pop as Batista walks out onto the stage, he stops at the top of the ramp, does his signature entrance theatrics as pyro shoots up from the stage. He stands up and begins to walk down the ramp.

Lillian - This match is scheduled for one fall, first making his way to the ring weighing in at 295 pounds, The Animal, Batista !!!

Batista makes his way down to ringside, he walks up the ring steps, gets into the ring, walks over to the corner, steps up on the second ropes and poses for the crowd. He jumps down as his theme fades away.

JR - Batista a former three time World Heavyweight Champion and no doubt is an animal.

King - Oh yeah but this man is a three time WWE Champion !!

John Cena's theme fades into the air and the crowd explodes into a huge pop as Cena walks out onto the stage and jumps around on stage.

Lillian - And his opponent weighing in at 240 pounds, John Cena !!!

Cena walks down the ramp, makes his way to ringside, slides under the bottom rope into the ring, poses for the crowd then prepares for the match as his theme fades away.

**Match Four**
John Cena vs Batista

This is a hard hitting back and forth action packed match. Both men hitting some big moves on one another. Batista hits Cena early on with a delayed vertical suplex. Cena hits Batista with a Fisherman Suplex. The final moments of the match see Cena and Batista trading right hands in the middle of the ring. Cena bounces off the ropes, Batista hits him with the Spinebuster, quickly pulls him up, kicks him in the gut and hits him with the Batista Bomb for the pinfall.

Winner - Batista via pinfall (13:40)

JR - Batista has just defeated John Cena for the second time ever !!

King - What a match JR !!

JR - Couldn't agree more King. Both men with so much intensity and so much heart but there can only be one winner.

Batista's theme hits the arena and the crowd cheers as Batista celebrates his victory. Raw fades off the air with Batista standing on the second ropes posing for the crowd as Cena stumbles to the back.

JR - Welcome back everyone and up next we've got the fifteen man battle royal for the World Heavyweight Championship but first let's take it backstage with our backstage correspondent, Michael Cole !!

{Backstage}

Michael Cole - I'm standing here with the new Intercontinental Champion, Elijah Burke.

The camera zooms back and Burke is seen standing next to Cole with the Intercontinental Championship on his left shoulder.

Michael Cole - Now that you've won the Intercontinental Championship how do you feel ? This is also your first championship here in the WWE.

Elijah Burke - Feels great that I the Black Pope can call myself a champion and I will bring prestige to this championship that the past champions couldn't do. The Shining Light Elijah Burke is on top of the mountain and I don't plan on comin' down any time soon.

Burke pushes Cole away from him then walks off the scene. Raw fades into a commercial.

{Commercial}

We come back from commercial with fifteen men standing in the ring with Undertaker's theme playing as he was the last to enter the ring.

Lillian - This match is the main event and is the fifteen man over the top rope battle royal for the World Heavyweight Championship !!!

JR - JBL is the new World Heavyweight Champion !! Bah Gawd !! He lasted just over forty minutes in this tremendous star studded battle royal !!

King - I can't believe it JR !! JBL is the new World Champion !!

JBL continues to celebrate with the title as the crowd is booing him and throwing trash into the ring. JBL holds the title in the air and smiles. Raw fades off the air with JBL celebrating

Oh I'm sorry. I use the "New and Improved" skin and at that time I forgot bout there being other skins. I'm using the black one now so shouldn't be a problem next time.


~News and Notes~
**Possible Spoilers**

The choice to put the World Heavyweight Championship on JBL was made mere moments before the match was set to take place. Vince had originally decided to put the title on MVP but then changed his mind but then couldn't decide who to put the belt on. Management was having a tough choice on who they wanted to put the title on. Matt Hardy came up several times during the decision making but they have something bigger planned for Matt coming up very soon. It should be noted that putting the title on JBL is only a short term choice that will most likely come to an end at Wrestlemania.

As you could see WWE has planning on starting a Christian Cage/Triple H feud and they will have their first match at the Royal Rumble. Expect Cage to be going over in the feud because WWE wants to do Cage right this time by pushing him for the world title and even possibly having him win it sometime later this year.

There is talk of doing a Chris Jericho/Undertaker feud which will likely start sometime in the next couple weeks and their first match to take place at Wrestlemania.

Right now WWE is in the process of deciding who will win the Royal Rumble. It will most likely be a face due to the fact that JBL is the champion and is a heel. As of right now WWE has it narrowed down to three different people all which have never won a world title nor a Royal Rumble before.

As of right now there are no plans to put the world title on Triple H, Undertaker or Shawn Michaels as many people would like to see them as champion. WWE wants to change things up and put the title on people who haven't held it before. JBL was made champion because they wanted a strong heel to start the year off capping it off with a face winning the title at Wrestlemania.

WWE has no house shows scheduled for this week but house shows will begin next week.
