July 19th 2009; Omaha, Nebraska

Tonight's broadcast of the Great American Bash kicks off with a video package highlighting the events that have taken place over the past month to build to the matches that are set to take place here tonight in Omaha, Nebraska. After this video package, we fade into the arena with the official Great American Bash theme song blasting all throughout the arena. The official theme song is 'Bible Black' from Heaven and Hell's new record called 'The Devil You Know' that was released back in late April. The camera pans around the arena showing all the rabid fans on their feet ready for tonight's show that is no doubt going to be stellar! After a couple pans around the arena, the camera focuses in on the stage where a huge pyro display is set off which is varied with colors of red, blue and white! After this, we pan over to the announce table where Jim Ross and his commentating partner, Jerry 'The King' Lawler sit ready to call tonight's stacked show!

Jim Ross: Welcome everyone to the Great American Bash! I'm Jim Ross here with my broadcast partner, Jerry 'The King' Lawler and we're here in Omaha, Nebraska to bring you what is no doubt going to be a great show here tonight!

Jerry Lawler: Oh you said it, JR! Tonight's card is stacked with eight matches that are no doubt going to be great!

Jim Ross: Don't forget that tonight in the main event, we will have Triple H facing off against his rival, CM Punk in one of the most dangerous matches in the history of this sport, Hell In A Cell!

Jerry Lawler: I can't wait for that, JR! Also tonight we've got the World Heavyweight Championship on the line! It's Shawn Michaels challenging the champion, Montel Vontavious Porter! I believe tonight marks the first time that these two will face off in any sort of match. Right, JR?

Jim Ross: You're absolutely right, King! For the very first time ever, Shawn Michaels and Montel Vontavious Porter, will step into the ring together to battle over the most prestigious championship here in the WWE, the World Heavyweight Championship!

Jerry Lawler: I'm really looking forward to that match here tonight! Oh, what am I saying? I'm looking forward to all of tonight's matches!

Jim Ross: Me too, King! Let's kick off the show right now with the United States Championship on the line between the champion, James Gibson and the challenger, Carlito!

Carlito's theme hits the arena and the crowd boos as Carlito makes his way out onto the stage with new attire. He doesn't have the short tights anymore, now he is sporting long pant tights that are a shiny blue with Carlito's logo printed on the side of each leg. As he walks down the ramp towards the ring to challenge for the United States Championship, Lillian makes the official introduction.

Lillian: This match is scheduled for one fall and it is for the United States Championship! First, making his way to the ring weighing in at 220 pounds, the challenger, Carlito!

Carlito gets down to the ringside area, taunts the crowd as they boo at him, walks up the ring steps onto the apron and gets into the ring. Carlito walks past Lillian and gets up onto the second ropes in a corner to motion for the belt around his waist then taunt the crowd. He turns around, jumps down and leans back in the corner as his theme slowly fades away.

Jim Ross: Carlito, a former Intercontinental and United States Champion, hopes to get his third overall title reign here in the WWE but can he get it done? We'll have to find out as he prepares to meet the champion, James Gibson!

James Gibson's theme hits the arena and the crowd begins to cheer as Gibson makes his way out onto the stage with the United States Championship around his waist. He then begins to walk down the ramp as Lillian makes the official introduction for him as well.

Lillian: And his opponent, the United States Champion, weighing in at 202 pounds, James Gibson!

Gibson gets down to the ringside area, walks up the ring steps onto the apron and gets into the ring. Gibson quickly gets up on the second ropes in the corner, unstraps his title belt from around his waist and holds it high up in the air as the crowd cheers. Gibson then jumps down and hands the championship belt to the referee who then holds it up in the air as Gibson's theme fades away.

Jim Ross: James Gibson is an overall two time champion here in the WWE having held the Cruiserweight Championship one time for 147 days and now holding the United States Championship for 44 days so far. Can he hold onto his title here tonight? Let's see!

The referee walks over to Carlito and shows him the title belt before then handing it to Lillian who gets out of the ring to take her seat at ringside. The referee calls for the bell and here we go!

Winners and STILL World Tag Team Champions - The Carolina Connection via pinfall (Schoolboy Roll-Up - 13:25)

Gregory and Shelton raise their tag title belts up high as they slowly back up the ramp towards the back as the crowd boos. They smile as Lillian makes the official introduction.

Lillian: Here are your winners by pinfall and STILL World Tag Team Champions, The Carolina Connection!

The crowd continues to boo as Kofi & Mysterio are still in the ring shocked and upset. Gregory and Shelton stop at the top of the ramp, hold up their title belts and laugh. The camera pans back over to Kofi and Mysterio one more time before we fade into a video package for the next match of the evening.

**Video Package**

Jim Ross: The Carolina Connection just barely managed to retain their World Tag Team Championship in what was a highly competitive match, alot of high flying done by Rey Mysterio, no surprise there but damn, I really thought that Kofi and Rey were gonna be able to pull it out. They were so close!

Jerry Lawler: Oh you're so right, JR! I thought they were gonna win the tag titles tonight as well but just couldn't make it happen!

Jim Ross: Well up next ladies and gentlemen, we've got a match that has been building ever since Kurt Angle made his return here to the WWE! It's Edge versus Kurt Angle in a Street Fight! Let's take it backstage! It's Maria with Edge!

**Backstage**

Maria: Hi! I'm standing by with the man who will face his arch nemesis here tonight in a Street Fight, the Rated R Superstar, Edge!

~Crowd boos as the camera zooms back so that Edge is now in frame

Maria: Now, Edge, after beating Kurt Angle like you did a couple weeks ago, thinking you had finished the rivalry with Kurt Angle, how do you feel about tonight's match being a Street Fight?

Edge: How do I feel? Ya know, you always ask the dumbest questions! I'll tell ya how I feel! I'm angry! Why can't Kurt Angle just go away! Why can't he just go back to that garbage dump called TNA where nothing makes sense and all the matches are crap! That, Maria, is how I feel! Tonight's match is a Street Fight, I'm glad about that part though because that just means that I can take all my anger, frustration and hatred out on Kurt Angle tonight with it all being legal as a headlock as barbecue boy Jim Ross likes to say. Ya see Kurt, as I've said many a times before, you come back here just wanting your spot back just like that, let me tell ya somethin' Kurt! I've worked too long and hard to earn the spot I have here in this business today and I'm not about to give it up to someone who only just came back from a three year absence, especially someone who thinks he can just bypass me to get his spot back. Sorry, Kurt, you're about to get that bald head of yours, caved in!

~Crowd boos as Edge stares at the camera with an angry look. After a few moments, we cut back to JR and King at ringside.

**Ringside**

The camera is focused on the stage as Edge's theme suddenly hits the arena and the crowd boos as the stage fills up with mist. Jerry Lawler: I agree, JR! And with what Abyss did to Undertaker on this past Friday's edition of Smackdown, you've got to wonder how Undertaker is going to handle his anger here tonight!

Abyss this past Friday on Smackdown, brutally attacked Undertaker with a steel chair, making Undertaker bleed and knocking him out cold with several chair shots to the head as well as a Blackhole Slam right onto the chair! No doubt that Undertaker is not one hundred percent here tonight. He's got to be having some severe pain in his spine and might even have a concussion! Either way, let's get this match underway!

They get into the ring, Abyss does his signature taunt then motions for the belt around his waist as the lights return to normal. After a few moments, Abyss's theme fades away and the crowd starts chanting for Undertaker.

Jim Ross: Abyss, a former world champion himself, would love to get another world title here tonight but can he get it done? Re: WWE 2009

The Hell In The Cell was one of the best written match-ups I've ever read. Phenominal. A couple of solid matches, felt a little dissapointed buy Abyss/Taker and Orton/Stone Cold, but the opening match was something I'd want to see, Edge/Angle was a war, and Jericho/Kennedy was great

I'd pay for that Bash. Well done.

News Report

Wrestling Observer News Report
**Possible Spoilers**

Last night's Orton/Stone Cold match was originally scheduled to go around the fifteen or twenty minute mark but Austin's neck and back were severely hurting so they had to end the match way quicker than expected. Austin is scheduled to be in a match at SummerSlam which is said to be his final match of his career but now it is up in the air on whether or not they will go through with the match due to Austin's neck and break being in severe pain after last night's match. If the match does go through, expect it to be another short match around the ten minute mark. WWE had planned for Brock Lesnar to face Austin in his final match with the feud centering around Austin's unwillingness to put over Lesnar back in 2002 which caused Austin to walk out of the company. Lesnar is said to be looking forward to the match but doesn't want to do it unless Austin is feeling good enough physically.

After CM Punk's victory last night in the Hell In A Cell, Punk was praised backstage for contributing to what became a phenomenal match against Triple H in the Hell In A Cell. Punk is said to continue to be pushed and possibly be getting another shot at the WHC at SummerSlam, but not in a singles match.

WWE has announced on it's website that it has signed former TNA superstar, Christopher Daniels to a full time contract. Christopher's TNA contract expired a couple months ago, they offered to resign him but he wanted to try and get a shot at getting into WWE since he feels that TNA has no real plans for him. It is currently undecided when he will make his debut or on what brand he will be showcased on. The Motor City Machine Gun's TNA contracts are also expiring soon and it's expected for WWE to try to sign them to a contract. WWE would feel that acquiring the MCMG would be a huge asset to the company and would give WWE another tag team that is over with the crowd, good in the ring and that they would be willing to push. More details on this when they are received.

Undertaker has been said to have been suffering over the past month or so with really banged up knees, hip and back. WWE wants to have his current WWE Championship reign be his last title reign with the company so naturally they want to give him a decent amount of time with the belt but due to Undertaker's health problems, they might have to take the belt off of him at SummerSlam. Undertaker is willing to continue until atleast Survivor Series before taking any time off that way he can be back in time for Wrestlemania with some of his nagging injuries healed up although he could change his mind and want time off as soon as possible.

The King Of The Ring tournament will begin on the July 20th edition of Monday Night Raw with the finals being held at the SummerSlam Pay-Per-View on August 23rd. WWE hasn't completely booked the tournament yet so the winner is yet to be determined although John Morrison is one of the candidates to win the tournament this year. The winner of the tournament will receive a world title shot at the next Pay-Per-View which would be
Unforgiven. The world title that the winner will get a shot at will be determined by what brand the winner is on.

July 20th 2009; Omaha, Nebraska

~Opening Promo~

CM Punk's theme hits the arena, the crowd cheers as Punk makes his way onto the stage in his ring gear with a CM Punk shirt on and he begins to make his way down the ramp, touching some of the fan's hands as they extend them out to him.

Lillian: Ladies and Gentlemen, please welcome, CM Punk!

Punk gets down to the ringside area, walks up the ring steps onto the apron, climbs up to the second ropes and poses for the crowd before then springboarding off the second ropes, over the top rope and landing on his feet in the ring. Punk walks over to Lillian, she hands the mic off to him then gets out of the ring to take her seat at ringside as Punk's theme slowly begins to fade away and the crowd cheers for him.

CM Punk: Last night at the Great American Bash here in Omaha, Nebraska! Inside the Hell In A Cell I defeated my foe, Triple H, exactly like I said I would! I stepped inside the Devi's playground as it's called sometimes with one of the two masters of the Hell In A Cell, he came in already being defeated inside the cell once before and I came in with nothing to lose. Triple H lost for the second time inside the cell and I know that just angers him beyond belief. Knowing that he's been defeated twice at his own game. I said that after I defeated Triple H inside the brutal Hell In A Cell, I would be coming for the World Heavyweight Championship once again!

~Crowd cheers

CM Punk: Well, SummerSlam is in almost exactly a month so MVP, you can expect me to be your next challenger once again for your World Heavyweight Championship since you successfully defended it against Shawn Michaels last night!

~Crowd cheers

Suddenly JBL's theme hits the arena, the crowd boos as JBL makes his way out onto the stage wearing his traditional suit, tie, cowboy hat and cowboy boots as he holds a microphone in his left hand. The crowd continues to boo him as Punk turns to face him and his theme slowly fades away.

JBL: Sorry to disappoint you Punk but you can't just come out here and say to the world champion that you are going to be his next challenger for his world title. Myself and the board of directors have come to an agreement about something we're going to do for the fans regarding SummerSlam. Since I'm such a fair and honest man...

~Crowd boos

JBL: ...Since I'm such a fair and honest man, I proposed that for SummerSlam next month, we allow the fans to vote for who they want to see in the title matches as challengers and the board of director's agreed. Therefore, after tonight, the fans will be able to vote for who they want to see in the World Heavyweight Championship match for SummerSlam!

~Crowd cheers as Punk smiles and lightly claps while nodding his head in agreement with the fans.

CM Punk: Good concept, JBL, you come up with that all on your own now huh?

JBL: I'll just let that one slide since I just happen to be in a good mood right now. My second announcement here tonight is that the World Heavyweight Championship will be defended inside an Elimination Chamber at SummerSlam!

~Crowd cheers

JBL: I didn't want to put my man, MVP, inside the Elimination Chamber but the board of directors all agreed to it so unless I followed their demand, my authority would be removed and I would only be an owner of half of the WWE without any authority. Now, Since I am in a good mood here tonight, Punk, I'm going to allow you to be involved in a match here tonight that will automatically give you one of the five open slots that is left in the Elimination Chamber without having anything to do with the fans voting. If you win your match that I have scheduled for you here tonight, you will automatically be added to the match, however, if you lose, the fans will get to vote for who they want to see in all five slots. Which by the way, you will not know who your opponent will be until the time of your match. Good luck, Punk...you are most definitely going to need it! Haha!

JBL's theme hits the arena once again as Raw fades into a commercial with Punk staring down at JBL at the top of the ramp as JBL gives a thumbs up to Punk then walks backstage.

**Commercial Break**

~Pre-Match Promo~

MVP's theme hits the arena, the crowd boos as MVP makes his way out onto the stage with his World Heavyweight Championship around his waist while he holds the Intercontinental Championship in his right hand. He has his ring gear on, his sunglasses on and he's ready to defend his Intercontinental Championship here tonight on Raw! MVP begins to make his way down the ramp towards the ring as Lillian makes the introduction.

Lillian: Ladies and Gentlemen, please welcome the Intercontinental and World Heavyweight Champion, M-V-P!

The crowd boos as MVP gets down to the ringside area, walks up the ring steps and gets into the ring. He grabs the microphone from Lillian as she gets out of the ring to take her seat at ringside and prepares to speak as his theme fades away as the crowd continues to boo.

MVP: Last night at the Great American Bash, I successfully defended my World Heavyweight Championship against Shawn Michaels and guess what, Shawn Michaels isn't even here tonight to officially congratulate me! And I'll tell you why he isn't here tonight! Shawn Michaels isn't here tonight because last night, I humiliated him and I made him realize that he simply doesn't have what it takes to be in the ring for a championship anymore! Shawn Michaels, doesn't have what it takes to be a champion anymore and he certainly doesn't have what it takes to win a championship either!

~Crowd boos

MVP: So tonight, I'm going to defend my Intercontinental Championship against Jack Swagger, who I already beat two weeks ago to retain my title as well as KENTA who came all the way over from Japan to wrestle here for the WWE to show America what Japanese wrestling is all about. Now, I like Japanese wrestling, I watch it and I'm saddened by the loss of Mitsuharu Misawa but KENTA really doesn't have what it takes to be a champion here in the WWE. He doesn't know what the WWE is about and he certainly doesn't know this Intercontinental Championship, is about! You can all bet the farm that I will once again successfully defend my title for the second night in a row!

~Crowd boos as MVP drops the mic, does his pose in the ring as his theme hits the arena once again as MVP walks over into the corner with his title belts as Raw fades into a commercial break. After the commercial break, KENTA and Jack Swagger will challenge for the Intercontinental Championship!

Match Results
  • Elijah Burke defeated D.H. Smith via pinfall
  • John Morrison defeated Petey Williams via pinfall (KOTR Quarterfinals)
  • Christian Cage defeated Kaz via pinfall (KOTR Quarterfinals)

~Opening Promo~
James Mitchell & Abyss

James Mitchell: At the Great American Bash this past Sunday, The Undertaker defended his WWE Championship against my monster, Abyss and guess what? Your hero The Undertaker, got himself disqualified to hang onto his belt because he knew that he wouldn't be able to beat Abyss fair and square to retain his championship. So I was thinking Undertaker, since you like to get yourself disqualified, since for all the title matches at SummerSlam, these fans are going to vote for who they want to see in each match as the challenger or what type of match is going to happen. Let's make one of the voting options...THREE STAGES OF HELL! First stage will be a First Blood match, the second stage will be a Falls Count Anywhere match and the third stage if necessary will be a Steel Cage Match! That will be one of the voting options for all of you fans to vote for! Now, we all know that the third fall won't be necessary because Abyss is currently 2-0 against The Undertaker and there is no way that The Undertaker will ever be able to beat Abyss in any sort of match!

~Crowd boos

James Mitchell: The Undertaker feels that since he's the champion, he can get himself disqualified to continue to run from Abyss because he knows that he has finally met his match, someone he cannot beat no matter how hard he tries! It's only a matter of time before Abyss becomes the new WWE Champion and holds that belt for as long as he wants! Well at SummerSlam, you won't be able to run any longer and you will defend your WWE Championship like a true champion!

~Crowd boos as Abyss's theme hits the arena and Abyss does his signature taunt in the middle of the ring as Mitchell hands the microphone back to Lillian on the outside of the ring. Smackdown fades into it's first commercial break of the evening.

**Commercial Break**

-Match Results-

Kofi Kingston defeated D.H. Smith via pinfall (KOTR Quarter-Finals)

James Gibson defeated Ted DiBiase Jr. via pinfall (Non-Title)

Mr.Kennedy defeated Shelton Benjamin (KOTR Quarter-Finals)

Chris Jericho defeated Brent Albright via pinfall

The Undertaker defeated Mike Knox via submission (Non-Title)

After the main event, The Undertaker cut a promo saying that he accepted the Three Stages Of Hell challenge for SummerSlam as a voting option for the fans. The Undertaker assured Abyss that he will retain his WWE Championship and that Abyss will fall to The Undertaker as many have and will in the future. Smackdown faded off the air with Undertaker posing in the center of the ring with his WWE Championship belt.

During The Undertaker's non-title match against Mike Knox, JR announced the other voting option for the WWE Championship match at SummerSlam. He announced that the first option would be The Undertaker versus Abyss in a Three Stages Of Hell and the second option would be The Undertaker defending it in a Fatal Four Way between Abyss, Chris Jericho, The Undertaker and whoever wins a Number One Contenders match between Brock Lesnar and William Regal that will take place next week on Smackdown.

Re: WWE 2009

Raw:
The matches werent to bad, but I'd prefer to have a little review of the match saying how they won or so on. Austin vs. Orton sounds like it would have been fun to read in full or with some revision to it.
The promos were fun to read because they weren't to long and they had enough info to tell us what was going on. Orton promo I didn't like at the end because I believe that he wouldn't have been able to pull an RKO out of no where on Austin.

Smackdown!:
Again a little more revision would have been nice to see so we could tell what happened.
Promos... well not much to say considering there was only one. I would have liked to seen what you did on Raw putting 4 or 5 promos in.

Summerslam:
King of the ring sounds like its gonig to come down to two people we don't expect which is good for once, very unpredictable. Finals I hope will be Triple H and Mr. Kennedy! It is shaping up very well and I can't wait to read Summerslam!
