This was an okay Smackdown. While I really loved JBL's segment, I thought it was a bit out of place for JBL to just throw it out there that he's the new WWE chairman. I mean that's HUGE news, I think it should have been saved for another time. That said, the rest of the segment was nice and it was believable that JBL could beat up a fan just for pissing him off. It wasn't one of those sorts of things you have to squint at while reading, it came off really well. I don't particularly mind if most of your show is going to be match-based, but I think you needed another segment mid-way through the show just for a change of pace. Anyway, I really loved the main event and the US Title match. Nice job.

WWE has announced that it has re-signed Super Crazy and Psicosis to a full time deal to reunite The Mexicools. WWE feels that they needed a new tag team and The Mexicools were contacted. They should be making their return sometime within the next few weeks. Expect them to be showcased on the Smackdown brand.
D.H. Smith is expected to return to ring action this upcoming Monday on Raw. He will most likely receive a fairly decent push into the Intercontinental Championship picture.
Speaking of the Intercontinental Championship. This week on Raw, two singles matches will take place and the winners of the two matches will be showcased in a one on one Number One Contenders match for the Intercontinental Championship the night after Vengeance with the title match taking place the very next week.
WWE has moved up William Regal's WWE Championship win substantially as he was originally scheduled to win the title near the end of this year. Now he will be winning the championship within a matter of a couple months. This is due to the fact that Undertaker is already pretty beat up from wrestling at every single house show for both Raw and Smackdown as well as the Smackdown/Raw shows themselves. Undertaker's knees and hips are said to have been bothering him badly. After he loses the championship, expect him to be off until atleast Survivor Series.
WWE has big plans for both the Intercontinental and United States Championships. Don't expect any two time champions, WWE wants all fresh superstars to hold the titles.
WWE has said that they plan on having all championship reigns be long ones. WWE feels that it's time to stray away from short reigns and will embrace the idea of someone holding the belt for six months or more which seems to be a rarity as of late. The World Tag Team Championship will be the first title for that to come into effect with as WWE has no plans whatsoever to take the belts off of Carolina Connection until next year sometime.

Monday Night Raw; June 15th 2009; Baton Rouge; Louisiana
Tonight's broadcast is kicked off with a video package highlighting the events of this past Friday's edition of Friday Night Smackdown including highlights from the JBL promo and the highlights of the main event tag team match with the WWE Champion, The Undertaker teaming up with CM Punk to go head to head with the World Heavyweight/Intercontinental Champion, MVP and his partner, William Regal. We fade into the arena after the video package and the camera pans around the arena showing all the rabid fans on their feet ready for tonight's show. We stop in front of the stage where a huge pyro display is set off and the crowd cheers. We do one more pan around the arena before stopping at the broadcast table with Jim Ross and Jerry 'The King' Lawler!
Jim Ross: Welcome everyone to the June 15th edition of Monday Night Raw! It's the final edition of Raw before Vengeance! What a show we've got for you tonight folks!
The King: Oh yes we do, JR! Tonight The Rock will give Shawn Michaels the answer regarding a Wrestlemania rematch for this Sunday at Wrestlemania!
Jim Ross: I can't wait to see that showdown between two living legends here in the WWE!
JBL's theme hits the arena and the crowd boos as JBL walks out onto the stage in a suit and tie with his signature cowboy hat on. MVP is walking out next to him also with a suit and tie on. He has the World Heavyweight Championship around his waist and the Intercontinental Championship around his stomach just above the world title. Regal walks alongside the other side of JBL in his ring gear and his fancy entrance coat.
Lillian: Ladies and Gentlemen, please welcome the Chairman of the WWE, John Bradshaw Layfield! And also please welcome the current World Heavyweight/Intercontinental Champion, MVP and finally, please welcome, William Regal!
All three men get down to the ringside area, JBL walks around to the backside of the ring and takes a seat at the commentator's table next to Jim Ross and Jerry 'The King' Lawler. MVP and Regal walk up the ring steps one after the other up onto the apron and into the ring. Lillian hands off the microphone to MVP as the crowd boos and JBL's theme slowly fades away.
JBL: Put a mic in MVP's hand and greatness flows!
Jim Ross: I don't know about that!
JBL: You better start knowing or else you'll be calling your last match soon barbecue boy! Mr. Boomer Sooner! Hahaha!
MVP: What you saw this past Friday on Smackdown, was the beginning of a new era here in the WWE! What you saw was Royalty uniting together as one to fight the common enemy between the three of us, mediocrity! Mediocrity like the man who hopes to defeat me this Sunday for both my titles, CM Punk! You want to know something about CM Punk? He's a liar and a hypocrite. He lies about being Straight Edge, he lies to all you people about who he truly is. I mean, he claims he's Straight Edge and yet Pepsi is his favorite soda. Now tell me something ain't right there? Soda is one of the worst things you can do for your body and yet he claims he's Straight Edge from drugs. Drugs are in soda, practically everything in soda is a man made chemical which in a way, is a drug, caffeine is a drug so CM Punk is a liar. He isn't Straight Edge! That's just the imagine he portrays to all you people so you can buy his merchandise so you can feel like you're part of the Straight Edge club. CM Punk is a no good liar and yet you people still love him. I don't just get it. I just don't get why you show him the respect that he doesn't deserve but you people don't show my associates and myself the respect we do deserve because we are royalty!
~Crowd boos
MVP: This Sunday at Vengeance, I'm walking in as both the World Heavyweight and Intercontinental Champion...And I'm walking out with both titles! I'm not even going to give CM Punk a chance to lay one bit of offense down on me, I'm going to beat him two straight falls and be done with it because CM Punk doesn't deserve to even get the slightest chance to lay a hand on greatness because let me tell ya something Punk, greatness doesn't rub off!
~Crowd boos as MVP laughs
MVP: I mean, I'm not a double champion right now for nothin'! I worked for both these titles and now my greatness only grows with each passing day that I am champion! Tonight, CM Punk is scheduled to face my associate, William Regal in a one on one match and CM Punk, you're not even going to make it to Vengeance and if you somehow do, I'll do exactly what I just told all these people I would do! There is no way in hell! That I am going to let mediocrity walk out with my titles around his waist!
~Crowd boos
MVP: By the way, incase you people forgot, I was the one to have the longest United States Championship reign in WWE history! That alone shows that I am greatness! I mean, what did CM Punk have except a fluke reign as world champion who was champion longer than he should have been! He had nothing! And believe me, he isn't going to have another fluke reign as champion...
CM Punk's voice suddenly hits the arena as he walks out onto the stage with a mic in hand as the crowd cheers.
CM Punk: ...Because my first reign wasn't a fluke and because neither will my next one, when I beat you for the title!
MVP: ...I was going to say, not on my watch you aren't because you aren't taking the title from me!
Punk continues to walk down the ramp, he gets down to the ringside area, gets up onto the apron and gets into the ring to walk up to MVP.
CM Punk: Ya know MVP, I'm getting sick and tired of hearing your voice and how great you supposedly are! You didn't work for those titles! You had somebody help you win the Intercontinental title, you had someone help you win the Money In The Bank case and you worked even less to get that world title because you cashed it in on the vacated title! When I won my money in the bank, I had to fight off six other men for fifteen minutes, I had to fight them off just long enough for me to make it up to the top of that ladder! I didn't have anyone to help me! I did it on my own! You have hardly worked at all here in the WWE! All through your time here you've cheated! This Sunday, believe me, there is no way I'm going to let you slip by me! You better attempt to bring your best this Sunday because I'm going to take you to the limit!
Both MVP and CM Punk go nose to nose as Raw fades into a commercial and the crowd is cheering in favor of Punk.
**Commercial Break**
Jim Ross: Welcome back everyone and up next we have the first match of the evening. Should be a good one!

D.H. Smith vs. Paul Burchill
Both men making their 2009 debuts here in the WWE as the last time they wrestled was back in late 2008. These two start the match off with a collar and elbow tie up into Burchill hitting Smith with a couple right hands as well as a forearm smash. Burchill grabs Smith, puts him in position for the Tombstone Piledriver but delivers a shoulderbreaker to Smith who then grabs at his shoulder down on the mat. Burchill then grabs the arm of Smith, gets down on the mat and locks in a High Angle Fujiwara Armbar and Smith yells out in pain. After a few moments Smith gets to the bottom rope and forces the break. Mid match we see Smith get some offense in on Burchill and hit a couple power moves on Burchill. Smith has Burchill in the corner and Smith is laying out some hard right hands. Smith pulls Burchill out of the corner and connects with a Northern Lights Suplex into a cover but Burchill kicks out. Final moments of the match we see Burchill hit Smith with a Back to back double underhook piledriver into a cover but Smith kicks out and Burchill can't believe it. Burchill pulls Smith up but Smith connects with a right hand, he grabs Burchill and quickly hits the signature Running Powerslam adopted from his late great father, into the cover to earn the three count. Smith's theme hits the arena and the crowd gives him a mild pop as he quickly gets up to have his arm raised into the air.
Winner - D.H. Smith via pinfall @ 9:09
Lillian: Here is your winner by pinfall, D.H. Smith!
Smith continues to celebrate his victory as Raw fades into a commercial.
**Commercial Break**
Jim Ross: Welcome back everyone and what a great match that was moments again. D.H. Smith defeated Paul Burchill in what was both of their first match here in the year 2009!
The King: I'll agree with ya there, JR. It was a good match!
Jim Ross: Well up next ladies and gentlemen, we've got Jack Swagger in one on one action up against one half of the World Tag Team Champions, Gregory Helms! This should also be a damn fine match! Whoever wins this match will be in one of two spots for the number one contenders match for the Intercontinental Championship next week the number one contenders match will take place!
*Entrances and Introductions*
Match #2 - Singles Match
Jack Swagger vs. Gregory Helms
First time these two have ever been in the ring together. Jack Swagger has been on a roll since his return here to the WWE and hopes to keep on rollin' as he hopes to eventually pick up some championship gold. He just might as next week we will have a number one contenders match for the Intercontinental Championship and whoever wins this match will be one of two men in the number one contenders match next week here on Monday Night Raw. We start this match off with a collar and elbow tie up with Swagger pushing Helms back into the corner. Swagger connects with several right hands on Helms then a knee to the gut. Swagger pulls Helms out of the corner and nails him with a lariat into a pinfall attempt but Helms kicks out. Swagger pulls Helms up, hoists him up over his head and hits Helms with a Gorilla Press Drop into another cover but Helms once again kicks out. Mid match we see Swagger and Helms have an equal amount of offense with Helms just hitting Swagger with a Swinging Side Slam Backbreaker into a cover attempt but Swagger kicks out. Helms pulls Swagger up, hits him with a right hand but Swagger fires back with one of his own, grabs Helms and connects with a side belly to belly suplex into the cover but Helms kicks out. Swagger pulls Helms over near the corner, steps over Helms, jumps up onto the second rope and hits hits Helms with a corner slingshot splash into the cover but once again Helms kicks out. Final moments of the match see Helms in control of the match. Helms just hit Swagger with a single knee facebreaker, he grabs him to go for the Eye Of The Hurricane but Swagger moves out of the way, Helms turns around, Swagger kicks him in the gut and connects with the Gutwrench Powerbomb into the cover to pick up the victory. Swagger's theme hits the arena and the crowd gives a slight mixed reaction although most of the crowd was leaning towards boos. Swagger's arm is raised by the referee in victory.
Winner - Jack Swagger via pinfall @ 14:42
Lillian: Here is your winner by pinfall, Jack Swagger!
Swagger continues to celebrate his victory as Raw fades into another commercial.
**Commercial Break**
We come back from commercial with the camera focused on the stage. Suddenly, Shawn Michael's theme hits the arena and the crowd cheers as HBK makes his way out onto the stage in his traditional fashion. He walks down the ramp, slides under the bottom rope, pops up and grabs the microphone from Lillian as she begins to get out of the way. The crowd continues to cheer for HBK as his theme slowly dies away and he holds the mic up to his mouth to speak.
HBK: Last week, I came out here and said it was up to The Rock if he wanted another match at Vengeance. It doesn't matter whether he accepts or not because either way, we all know that I'm the best and The Rock is not. I told him that he if accepted the open challenge this week on Raw, we would have the match and if he didn't show up, I would claim the victory by forfeit then we would know for absolute sure who the best is. Well, I'm out here and I'm waiting Rock! So come on out, face me in this ring and accept the open challenge! Come on Rocky!
HBK walks up to the front ropes of the ring, leans on them and awaits The Rock. The Rock's theme never hits and after a few moments, HBK walks back to the center of the ring.
HBK: I guess The Rock is too busy to be here tonight. Probably back in Hollywood filming another crappy movie that will be a straight to DVD hit which you can find in the ninety-nine cent bin at your local car wash! Ya know Rock, whether you show up here tonight or not, I'm still going to request for the match to still take place this Sunday. Rock, if you care to show up, don't expect to stay long because it won't take long for me to prove that I'm the best of all time, not you!
HBK drops the mic as his theme hits the arena once again and the crowd gives him a mixed reaction. Raw fades into another commercial as HBK gets out of the ring to head backstage.
**Commercial Break**
Jim Ross: Welcome back everyone and up next we've got the next match of the evening! It's Batista going one on one with Kurt Angle!

Batista vs. Kurt Angle
Both men have faced only one time in the past in singles competition and that was last month when Kurt Angle made his WWE return at Judgment Day which saw Batista pick up the victory over Kurt Angle via disqualification thanks to Brock Lesnar's interference. We start this match off tonight with the two locking up in the center of the ring with a collar and elbow tie up, Angle applies a side headlock on Batista, Batista pushes Angle off into the ropes, Angle bounces off and Batista hits Angle with a shoulderblock which sends Angle down to the mat. Final moments of the match we see Batista hit Angle with the spinebuster and then Batista does his signature theatrics before going for the Batista Bomb. Batista pulls Angle up, kicks him in the gut, pulls Angle between his legs, hoists Angle up but Angle quickly hits Batista with right hands, slides down the back of Batista, grabs the leg and locks in the Ankle Lock! Batista is in intense pain and about to tap when suddenly Rated RKO runs down the ramp, slides under the bottom rope, pops up to their feet, Angle breaks the hold, jumps up and begins hitting right hands on both Orton and Edge. Edge and Orton then begin to overtake Angle and beat him down. The referee calls for the bell as the crowd boos.
Winner - Batista via disqualification @ 10:35
Edge and Orton continue to beat down Angle. Batista joins in on the beat down. Lesnar runs down the ramp, slides under the bottom rope and takes down Batista with a spear and begins nailing him with right hands. Edge and Orton begin beating on Lesnar as well but Lesnar overpowers them and fights back. Lesnar hoists Edge up onto his shoulders and connects with the F5. Lesnar gets up to his feet and Orton nails Lesnar with the RKO out of nowhere! Kurt and Batista are back up to their feet. Batista attempts a lariat on Angle but Angle ducks, grabs Batista and connects with the Angle Slam. Batista rolls out of the ring. Orton and Angle begin to brawl. The brawl eventually spills out onto the outside. The referee tries to get in between the two but they both push him away. Orton and Angle continue to brawl back and forth until finally some agents such as Arn Anderson run out and break up the brawl. Raw fades into another commercial as Orton and Angle stare eachother down as they're being held back by the agents.
**Commercial Break**

Jim Ross: We'll have to wait and see about that one, King!
*Entrances and Introductions*
Match #4 - Singles Match
Elijah Burke vs. Petey Williams
Elijah Burke and Petey Williams will meet again here tonight after facing off one on one here last week. Petey Williams got the victory over the former Intercontinental Champion, Elijah Burke, last week here on Monday Night Raw and tonight Burke hopes to avenge that loss to get back on the road to regain the Intercontinental Championship! These two start the match off with a collar and elbow tie up with Burke pushing Petey back into the corner. Burke makes the clean break but then slaps Petey across the face. Burke pulls Petey out of the corner and begins hitting him with right hands. After a few moments, Petey gains control over Burke and begins dishing out right hands of his own on Burke. Petey turns around, grabs Burke and hits him with a sitout jawbreaker which causes Burke to stumble around, Petey bounces off the ropes and hits Burke with a spinning wheel kick which sends Burke down to the ground. Petey quickly goes for a cover on Burke but Burke kicks out. Mid match we see Burke and Petey having a technical wrestling exchange back and forth. After a few moments, Burke pulls Petey up and connects with a vertical suplex into the cover but Petey kicks out. Final moments of the match we see Burke set up for the Elijah Experience but Petey blocks it and quickly connects with the Canadian Destroyer into the pinfall to get the three count. Petey's theme hits the arena and the crowd cheers as Petey quickly has his arm raised by the referee.
Winner - Petey Williams via pinfall @ 12:19
Lillian: Here is your winner by pinfall, Petey Williams!
Petey Williams continues to celebrate his victory and motion for the title around his waist as the crowd cheers. Next week here on Raw it's going to be Jack Swagger versus Petey Williams to crown the Number One Contender for the Intercontinental Championship! Raw fades into another commercial.
**Commercial Break**
Jim Ross: Welcome back everyone and up next we've got the main event! It's two men that are gunning for the opposite world titles this Sunday at Vengeance! It's CM Punk going one on one against William Regal!
The King: This should be a good one, JR!
Jim Ross: I think so too, King! Let's find out!
Punk's theme hits the arena and the crowd cheers as Punk makes his way out onto the stage and begins walking down the ramp. Suddenly JBL runs up behind Punk and knocks him down. JBL pulls Punk up and begins hitting him with right hands. Punk stumbles backwards towards the ring as JBL keeps walking forward and hitting right hands on Punk. We get down to the ringside area and JBL slams Punk head first right into the steel steps. JBL grabs Punk by the hair and pulls him over to the backside of the ring. Punk falls to the ground and is busted open. Regal's theme hits the arena and the crowd boos as Regal walks out onto the stage with his ring gear on and ready to go. He runs to the backside of the ring. Pulls Punk up to his feet and begins hitting him with some forearm shots which sends Punk down to the ground. Regal pulls Punk back up pushes him towards JBL and JBL connects with a second very hard chair shot to Punk's skull. Punk falls straight backwards down into the ground. Regal pulls Punk up and slides him under the bottom rope into the ring. JBL pushes the time keeper aside and rings the bell himself.
Main Event - Singles Match
William Regal vs. CM Punk
Regal goes for a cover on Punk but Punk kicks out and the crowd cheers. Regal nor JBL can believe it! Regal pulls Punk up to his feet and connects with a half nelson suplex into the cover but again Punk kicks out! JBL walks over to the ropes and hands Regal the chair from earlier. Regal walks back over to Punk and drives the chair right into the ribs of Punk. Punk jolts and grabs at his ribs in pain. Punk rolls over to his side and Regal slams the chair right into the side of Punk before discarding the chair. JBL slides into the ring, the referee tells him to get out but JBL hits a clothesline on the referee sending him down to the mat. JBL and Regal begin stomping at Punk. Regal pulls Punk up and JBL connects with the Clothesline From Hell! The crowd is booing intensely! MVP slowly walks down the ramp towards the ring with both his title belts. He slides under the bottom rope, sets the world title down on the mat, pulls Punk up, has JBL hold him and MVP clocks Punk upside the head with the Intercontinental Championship then MVP hits Punk with the Playmaker right onto the world title! The crowd continues to boo. Regal goes for the cover, JBL gets down on his knees and makes the three count. JBL gets out of the ring, walks over and rings the bell again. Regal's theme hits the arena as the crowd boos.
Winner - William Regal @ 5:02
JBL tosses a mic in the ring and MVP catches it. MVP puts his foot up on Punk's chest and begins to speak as he looks down at Punk.
MVP: I told you that you would have to crawl into Vengeance this Sunday! No way you're going to be able to recover from this beating in six days! This Sunday, I will walk in as champion and out as champion!
MVP hands the mic off to Regal.
William Regal: Undertaker, you better be ready for this Sunday because at Vengeance, you're title reign will be ended and I, William Regal, will finally get the world title that I should have gotten a long time ago! Undertaker, this Sunday, I will not being the one to Rest In Peace, it is infact you, who will Rest In Peace!
The lights suddenly go out and the bell tolls. The stage fills up with mist and Undertaker slowly makes his way out onto the stage with the WWE Championship around his waist. After a few moments, Undertaker gets down to the ringside area, walks up the ring steps onto the apron and gets into the ring. He walks up to Regal, looks at MVP and JBL then back to Regal. Undertaker then does his cut throat taunt. The lights then quickly turn off, come back on and Undertaker is gone. Regal, MVP and JBL look around in shock as Raw fades off the air.

Pretty fun RAW. A bit bummed that Elijah lost but if you can manage to make Petey Williams entertaining to me then hat's off to you. Enjoyed the opening segment and it's making me excited for Punk to cave Elijah's face in at the PPV. Nice job!
Ah yeah, not sure why I said Elijah. Must have been because I used his name before that. I'm still a bit shell-shocked from LeBron's game-winning three, sorry lol.

**Notes**
Smackdown was posted in quick results this week because I'm changing the way I write Pay-Per-Views so it will take much longer than before. I am now going to be using the 100 words equals 1 minute of ring time format so that means a ten minute match will be one thousand words for example. Thus, it will take much longer than before. I wanted to get Smackdown done and over with as quickly as possible so I could clear the way for time to write the Pay-Per-View without having to worry about writing Smackdown. From now on, the final Smackdown before the Pay-Per-View will be posted in quick results due to this format change. Sorry for the sudden change.

Tbh I don't really like the idea of your new format for the PPV. I don't think anyone in their right mind would want to read that much, no offense. I think it puts a little too much strain on you as well, and I don't think it's very fair to your diary when you don't use the TV shows to hype up the PPVs. Though in this case, I don't think anymore hype was needed so the quick results here are just fine.
