ECW | The Future of Professional Wrestling
When ECW returned from nowhere in 2006, people only expected it to be a short-term fix to a long-term problem, in an effort to capitalize on the potential and fan base ECW had garnered all those years ago. However, ECW has become a real staple within the WWE world, contributing talent that has gone onto become big names. Superstars such as CM Punk, John Morrison, Elijah Burke and more have plied their trade on ECW within the last year or so and have proved they have all the credentials to step up to the plate and in the very near future, be Headliners for either Monday Night RAW or Friday Night Smackdown.
How will ECW continue to develop as Wrestlemania 24 ends, and the new WWE year begins? Let’s find out, shall we?

The long, yet successful Talent Exchange initiative that had existed between ECW and Friday Night Smackdown, as of the conclusion of Wrestlemania 24, has been discontinued and brought to an end.
It had brought some of the biggest and best shining stars from Friday nights to ply their trade in the land of extreme. However, now, it was time for the Extreme Team of ECW to do it for themselves. Ratings steadied out and as ECW garnered their own brand of fans, 8 years after its demise, the need for Smackdown talent decreased with ECW making its own stars, and very successfully at that too.
This meant in the process that John Morrison & The Miz would lose the WWE Tag Team Titles. However, because they were still the champions, ECW would recognize them as the NEW ECW Tag Team Champions, the first tandem to hold these titles since way back in the early millennium. This meant that ECW would now be showcasing two sets of titles, with no decision made on whether a third title would be introduced at a later date, if ever…
The first broadcast of ECW back on its own without the stars of Smackdown would take place on the night following this announcement, just hours after what went down at Wrestlemania 24. With Kane at the helm and looking as dominant as ever, who would step up next and try to prize the ECW Title away from the biggest, baddest man in the ECW Locker Room? Whoever tried would need a lot more than talent to disrupt the momentum that Kane had built up. ECW was entering a brand new era, and who knows? This era might never end…

ECW on Sci Fi | Aftermath of Wrestlemania – Preview
Guerrero Seeking Revenge!
After losing his ECW Championship in a record breaking 8 seconds at Wrestlemania 24, including the pinfall, Chavo Guerrero enters the Land of Extreme this Tuesday and has told wwe.com that he is seeking revenge! Guerrero has promised he will enter the ring and hopes to come face to face with the man that defeated him at Wrestlemania, Kane! Is it a wise idea for Chavo to come face to face with an in-firm Monster, or does he have a little something up his sleeve to try and reaffirm his credentials as a top ECW Superstar? We’ll find out tomorrow night…
Speaking of the ECW Champion, Kane will be in action. How will his first night an ECW Champion shape up, and will he begin his reign with a win? You wouldn’t like to bet against him, that’s for sure.
The IN Crowd On FIRE~!
Speaking of a Big Red Machine on fire, another person, or persons on fire is the tandem of John Morrison and The Miz. After the ending of the ECW/Smackdown talent exchange, they have been named the ECW Tag Team Champions. One half of the champions; John Morrison will compete this Tuesday night against another young gun that heads to Tuesday nights, determined to make his name. Will he be able to do it at the expense of the Tuesday Night Delight, or will he fall to one half of the hottest tandems in professional wrestling?
A Reunion Riddled With Gold
Just hours after coming out empty at Wrestlemania, Shelton Benjamin let us know that he and close friend, Elijah Burke from now on wanted to be known as the Golden Standards. He then told us that they had issued an open challenge for this Tuesday, which had been accepted by the Mentor and Student team of Tommy Dreamer and the rookie; Colin Delaney. Will Delaney and Dreamer halt Burke and Benjamin before they even begin, or will the Golden Standards begin their reign of terror upon ECW with success?
