The video package for the opening of ECW plays and fireworks go off in the arena. The crowd is packed and is near full. “HERE COMES THE MONEY!!!” plays only moments after the show starts and the crowd pops loud for this.
Shane McMahon makes his way to the ring with Theodore Long following him, slapping the hands of the fans that are closest to the guardrail. Shane gets in the ring with a mic already in hand and begins to talk.
Shane McMahon– “Well, a lot have questioned why I would show up on ECW, of all places. I mean, Stephanie and I have been airing videos on Raw for the past couple of weeks about our frustrations with the lack of order there since my father was injured, so why did I choose Tuesday Night to make my appearance? Well, it’s quite simple. What I need from ECW is...YOU, TEDDY!”
Theodore Long look confused and you can see him trying to talk to Shane, but he has no microphone.
Shane McMahon– “Teddy, Teddy, it’s not a bad thing and we don’t mean to be sending you from place to place, but trust me, Raw needs to a hell of a lot more than ECW. HOWEVER, I’d like to introduce you to your NEW General Manager of ECW!
The old ECW entrance music plays and Joey Styles makes his way to the ring. The crowd is loud for Styles, who gets a huge pop.
Joey Styles – “I’d like to kick things off with a bang, so first things first. The ECW Champion currently is Rey Mysterio, right? Well Rey, you will have some competition very soon because tonight Tommy Dreamer may get a chance to face you again for the title as he’ll be in a number one contenders match again Chris Jericho!”
Theodore Long – “Now hold on a minute, playa. You mean to tell me that I make trades for superstars and I make good investments for new talents like Evan Bourne, which win me over the Intercontinental Championship for my program, and I lose the title because you guys can’t keep Raw straight. I say, no way, I want my title.”
Shane McMahon – “Joey?”
Joey Styles thinks for a minute and then whispers something in Shane McMahon’s ear.
Shane McMahon – “That’s a great idea! Well Joey Styles has just suggested that the Intercontinental Championship become vacated and sent back to Raw, but in return, I give permission for him to reinstate the Hardcore Championship, right here on ECW. And I’ll call it final!”
Joey Styles – "Oh yeah, and there will be a battle Royal for it, right now!”
Evan Bourne’s music hits and he brings the Intercontinental Championship to Theodore Long and we go to commercial break.
Standing in the ring when we return from commercial break are Evan Bourne, Braden Walker, Jamie Noble, Mike Knox, Nunzio, Ricky Ortiz, Stevie Richards and Super Crazy.
Rundown of the Battle Royal for the Hardcore Championship
- Mike Knox runs at Super Crazy and big boots him. He then picks him up by his throat and throws him into the turnbuckle, throwing elbows at him.
- Jamie Noble and Evan Bourne tie up and Evan Bourne puts Noble in a headlock. Noble reverses it into a back Suplex.
-Nunzio looks at Richards and points to Noble. As Richards begins to walk towards Noble, Nunzio tries to throw Richards over but it doesn’t go so easily. The two struggle.
-Braden Walker and Ricky Ortiz meet eye to eye. Ortiz pushes Walker, then Walker pushes Ortiz. The pace each other a little before starting to trade punches.
-Mike Knox picks Super Crazy up for a huge Power Slam and then tosses him over the ropes.
-Noble puts Bourne in a Headlock on the ground until Bourne is able to make it to his feet. He throws some elbows to the gut of Noble and then runs into the ropes, hitting him with a shoulder block.
-Nunzio and Richards continue to struggle back and forth. They trade off body Slams and Suplexes before trying to get each other over the ropes.
-Ortiz gets the better of the punches, and then throws Walker into the ropes, catching him with an Arm drag.
-Evan Bourne runs at a recovering Noble again, but Mike Knox hits him with a boot to the face. He then picks Noble up and tosses him over the ropes.
-Stevie Richards is able to isolate Nunzio to the turnbuckle where he chokes him with his foot.
-Ortiz catches Walker with several more Arm Drags’ before Walker reverses one to an arm Drag of his own. He then picks Ortiz up and hits him with a Suplex.
-Mike Knox runs over to Richards and Nunzio whom are still in the turnbuckle and throws them both over the ropes.
-Walker continues to dominate Ortiz. He hits him with several high impact moves like Body Slams, Sidewalk Slams and a Spine Buster.
-Braden Walker picks Ricky Ortiz up and tries to push him over the ropes, but it doesn’t work. Mike Knox walks over and shoves Walker out of the way, and then hits Ortiz with a hard elbow, sending him out.
-Walker gets angry that Knox shoved him and pushes him back. Knox grabs Walker by the throat, lifts him up and tosses him over the ropes.
-Knox very intensely stares at Walker who is outside of the ring before turn to Evan Bourne and running at him. Bourne ducks and pulls down the top rope, sending Knox flying over.
The winner of the match and NEW Hardcore Champion: Evan Bourne!
Order of elimination:
Super Crazy
Stevie Richards
Nunzio
Ricky Ortiz
Braden Walker
Mike Knox
Mick Foley’s music hits and he makes his way to the ring with the Hardcore Championship and hands it to Evan Bourne. They celebrate as it goes to commercial break.
As it returns from commercial break, Joey Styles makes his way to the ring and sits at the commentating booth with Mike Adamle and Tazz.
Tazz - “Eyy, Joey, its just like old times!”
Joey Styles– “That it is, and I came out here for just that, to call a match like old times.”
Mike Adamle – “Nice to have you here, Joey.”
Joey Styles –“Yeah.”
Rundown of Tommy Dreamer vs. Chris Jericho #1 Contender Match
Tommy Dreamer’s music hits and he makes his way to the ring with a mild reaction. He slaps the hands of thee fans by the guardrails. Chris Jericho’s music hits to a chorus of boos and he makes his way to the ring with an angry look on his face. The bell rings.
The two lock up and Chris Jericho quickly throws a clubby blow to the back of Tommy Dreamer. He then picks him up and slaps him in the face. Tommy Dreamer doesn’t take too kindly to this, and slaps Chris Jericho right back. He then hits him with a Suplex and goes for the cover. Only a 1 count, though. Dreamer locks in a Headlock before flattening Jericho on the ground and landing an Elbow Drop. Dreamer stays in control for a while before Jericho hits him with a Low Blow while the referee isn’t looking. Jericho then dominates slowly and methodically before finally locking in the Walls of Jericho and Tommy Dreamer has to tap.
The winner and the new number one contender for the ECW Worlds Heavyweight Championship: Chris Jericho!
After the match, Joey Styles stands up and storms to the ring with a microphone.
Joey Styles –“Well, I said the reason I came out was to call a match like old times, but honestly, that’s just not true. I came out here to witness the worst commentator on the face of the planet, LIVE! Haha. Not to mention to tell him, Mike, I’m sorry but you’re fired! Get the hell out of my building now. I’ll announce ECW’s new commentator by next week. But everyone in the locker room beware, this is only the beginning. Expect quite a few roster spaces being open in the next couple of weeks!”
Joey styles music hits and he leaves the ring as it goes to commercial break.
When we return from the commercial break and the screen is in the back with The Miz and John Morrison.
The Miz – “John, did you hear Joey Styles made the Tag Main Event for tonight a Tag Titles match for the ECW Tag Titles?”
John Morrison– “ECW Tag Titles, you say?”
The Miz– “Yeah, and we’re totally not in it.”
John Morrison– “We’re not in it, you say?”
The Miz – “You already knew that part, John.”
John Morrison – “I did, you say? Well I think you should do something about it Miz”
The Miz – “You got it!”
The Rundown of the Tag Titles Match Londrick vs. “The World Greatest Tag Team”
The Miz storms out of room and as John Morrison watches and takes off his sunglasses. The camera cuts to the live arena where Londrick’s music hits and the both run to the ring. They back flip off of opposite turnbuckles. Charlie Haas and Shelton Benjamin then come out to their old music with a surprisingly loud pop. The bell rings. Charlie Haas and Brian Kendrick start in the ring with very technical stuff. They go back and forth with Headlocks and Arm Locks, flowing very well with chain wrestling. They both tag in their respective partners. These two go at a fast pace high-risk style, trading Hip Tosses and such. The duck Clotheslines and then hit a double Clothesline on each other, before kipping up. These two are very back a forth, without much break. Benjamin eventually finds himself in the drivers seat for a while and dominates London at a slower pace. When London finally makes the tag to Kendrick, the control switches. Kendrick then dominates Benjamin at the same medium type pace. Shelton and him trade roles and the two wear each other out. Eventually the both make consecutive tags and it breaks down. Kendrick Arm Drags Benjamin, Haas Arm Drags London, Kendrick Arm Drags Haas, Benjamin Arm Drags London, Haas Arm Drags Kendrick, London Arm Drags Haas, Benjamin Arm Drags Kendrick, London Arm Drags Benjamin and finally, Benjamin Arm Drags Haas. Benjamin tries to apologize to Haas for accidentally Arm Dragging him in confusion but Kendrick rolls him up for the 1-2-3.
The winner of the match and NEW ECW Tag Team Champions: Paul London and Brian Kendrick!
The Miz comes out and attacks Kendrick from behind. Paul London runs at Miz but Shelton Benjamin and Charlie Haas attack him. The Mix then confronts the two. Kendrick gets back up and drop kicks The Miz. John Morrison comes down and the three teams brawl as the show goes off air

Not a bad episode of ECW. To me, I think it would have been a bit better if Bourne just re-named the title. Seemed sort of pointless he would hand it over and just win again. Don't know what Dreamer did to become such a big commodity in ECW, but its' all good. Main event was good and Mizorrison/Londrick should be good.
Nice job.
