With the blockbuster announcement of the WWE purchasing TNA and signing ROH and other independent talent, Friday Night Smackdown has a huge announcement of it's own. Every Friday night, Smackdown will air LIVE. That's right, the show that keeps you home on a Friday Night just gave even more incentive to do so! The roster is as follows:

General Manager of Friday Night Smackdown Vickie Guerrero has announced the start of an eight man tournament to crown the World Heavyweight Champion! Already announced in said tournament includes names such as The Undertaker, Shawn Michaels, Chris Jericho, Jeff Hardy, and JBL. That leaves three more men. With the WWE signing Sting, it is possible he will be included in this tournament. With that said, Sting's first ever WWE match is a huge draw, so that could possibly work against him being included.
The Smackdown roster page has been updated with new photos, managers, and the interviewers/announcers have been added.
Aside from the World Heavyweight Title, both the United States Championship and the WW Tag Team Championship belts are expected to remain on Smackdown. It is likely no other championship will be introduced and the Diva's championship is being retired.

The man they call Sting is expected to NOT be debuting this week as management feels as if his return is a huge deal, and that this week's show is expected to do well either way.
Smackdown.com has revealed the following:
General Manager Vickie Guerrero has announced an eight man tournament for the World Heavyweight Championship! Involved in this tournament include the man who was thought to be fired, the Undertaker, Shawn Michaels, Chris Jericho, Chavo Guerrero, among others. The tournament is likely to begin live this week with the first match being Shawn Michaels vs. Chris Jericho as the main event.
