For years, Vince McMahon's WWE fought against competition, WCW, ECW and now TNA Wrestling. Vince bought the other companies when they got dangerous and this was no different.
TNA had slowly got up to RAW’s ratings and went up against the WWE. Vince decided to state this as the right time to buy or try at least purchase Total Non-Stop Action. He had offers among offers rejected and turned down until TNA’s wrestlers salary’s began to dip. Dixie Carter had no other choice but to see to Vince McMahon in a deal that saw Vince now having control over his number one competitor.
With a new company under his wing Vince was advised by many people not to do what he did with ECW and WCW and bury them. So Vince decided to let TNA remain a live show and to help bring in something he loves and that’s money. Vince got TNA Impact a live show every Thursday on Spike plus he decided to shake things up by having a huge roster draft that split WWE and TNA talent up. Many were released from there contracts but those who stayed where given new contracts and where promised a better era in pro wrestling where the wrestlers would get control over what there characters do and no more screen writers for bookers. Ring of Honor also noticed the surplus that the WWE was doing with TNA and figured that by supplementing talent over to the WWE in exchange for some more marketable business in attaining more revenue to produce a higher quality edition of Ring of Honor still being seen as the Top Rated Indy Promotion in the U.S. with the growth of new stars. Filled with following Backstage officials and the owners of their respective companies. Cary Silkin from Ring of Honor, Dixie Carter from TNA and Vince McMahon of the WWE all shook hands to signify that a deal had been reached to Secure that Wrestling would be a feature for a long time to come.
