iMPACT! Preview


- The iMPACT! Main Event this week see's ODB go up against the former TNA Knockout's champion, Gail Kim in one-on-one action. Gail has not wrestled since losing the title to Awesome Kong at Final Resolution, now she has a chance to get revenge as this match is a number one contenders match!

- Christian Cage has asked for and has been granted some ring time. What will the Instant Classic have on his mind? Will we find out the stipulation for the World Title match at Against All Odds?

- On TNA Today on Friday we heard Kevin Nash accept Samoa Joe's challange for a tag team title match at Against All Odds. This week on iMPACT! we find out Samoa Joe's tag partner as they take on the Voodoo kin Mafia. Has BG James studing the Tag Team Division helped him any? This is not an ideal match for BG to try out any new tricks he might have.

- Last week Abyss sided with James Mitchell in order to keep his secret safe. At the end of the match we saw tension between the monster & Judas Mesias. Can these two co-exist? Rhino is bound to be pissed with Abyss especially after he saved Abyss at Final Resolution.

- Remember Jim Cornette telling Kaz to find a parter? Well, he's found one & Kaz will reveal to us all on iMPACT! what Cornette said "is on" if he found a partner. But before that, he must face RelliK in singles action.

- After coming close to defeating Chris Harris last week in singles action, Eric Young will again try his luck, this time against his old rival James Storm.

- Also on the broadcast, Robert Roode, Petey Williams, Rock n' Rave Infection and much more as we get closer to Against All odds.

We open iMPACT! this week with Kaz looking for a little revenge against RelliK who assisted in Black Reign's ambush a few weeks ago.

Kaz is double teamed for most of the match with Black Reign getting in as many shots as he can from the outside. Black Reign would however be the cause of RelliK losing. Black Reign threw Darkness Falls into the ring as he got the attention of Rudy Charles. RelliK, unaware of the weapon in play continued working on Kaz & went for a pin. RelliK goes to Black Reign when the ref doesn't count. RelliK shoves Reign off the apron before pointing to the back. With Reign leaving, RelliK walks right into The Wave of the Future from Kaz for the win.

Kaz doesn't get a chance to celebrate as Black reign is quickly upon him. Kaz tries to fight off the ambush but RelliK soon makes it two on one again. Black Reign gets Darkness Falls & is about to smash the skull of Kaz when the entrance music of Booker T plays. Booker runs to the ring as RelliK & Reign run out of the ring. Is Booker T Kaz's partner?

Kaz def. RelliK in 12:01 with the Wave of the Future.

Homicide & Hernandez, the L.A.X. are backstage & not in a good mood. They give The Rock 'n' Rave Infection until Against All Odds to let Shelley Martinez go. If they don't meet the deadline, LAX have no problem getting in re-enforcements.

The next match features Eric Young looking to get some of his pride back after being cheated last week. His opponent, James Storm, couldn't handle the fast & furious approach taken by Young & needed the help of Chris Harris. Storm dropped out of the ring but Young gave chase. Young was within inches of Storm when he got smashed in the head with a beer bottle again, knocking him unconscious. Harris & Storm proceeded to beat the fallen Canadian on the outside causing Andrew Thomas to call security.

An unconscious Eric Young is announced the winner via DQ as Harris & Storm are escorted out of the arena.

Backstage James Mitchell is screaming in the face of Abyss. Mitchell is telling Abyss that Judas Mesias is his superior & what happened last week wont be tolerated in the future.

Mitchell reminds Abyss that he has arranged for a match. Next week, it will be Abyss vs Rhino. Should Rhino survive & want more, at Against All Odd's he can go find a partner & face both Abyss & Mesias in a tag team Barbed Wire Massacre match.

On the way to the entrance tunnel is the Voodoo Kin Mafia. BG James looks focused but Kip doesn't. Kip stops BG & asks him about the note taking hobby he seems to have taken up. BG tells Kip not to worry about it, its for the good of both of them. Kip seems happy enough with the answer as BG continues on walking. Roxxi Laveaux stops Kip & tells him BG is hiding something.

VKM now in the ring as Samoa Joe comes out to the top of the ramp. Joe has a mic in hand & introduces his tag partner for Against All Odds. The TNA X-Division Champion, Black Machismo Jay lethal.

Kip & BG don't seem to be on the same page as they miss several double team chances. The finish comes when Kip James accidentally hits BG with a big boot. Lethal takes Kip out of the ring with a missile drop kick as Samoa Joe locks in the Cokita Clutch for the submission victory.

Lethal & Joe celebrate in ring as Kip James is apologising to his partner who isn't interested.

Jay lethal & Samoa Joe def. Voodoo Kin Mafia in 9:07 via Submission.

Back in the ring with Christian Cage & AJ Styles. Christian is feeling confidant about his chances at Against All Odds thanks to Styles victory a few weeks ago over Kurt Angle. Cage is about to name the stipulation when Jim Cornette interrupts him. Cornette informs Cage that Styles is the one making the decision, not Cage. Styles blurts out Elevation X which has Cage in disbelief. Cage argues with AJ over the decision until Kurt Angle comes out.

Angle informs us that he is not putting his career on the line for one match so Styles will have to pick something else. Cornette informs Angle that he will be stripped of the title & suspended unless he competes in Elevation X. Cage mocks Angle before Cornette lays the law down again. Cornette tells Cage that if he doesn't compete, then Cage will also be suspended & will never get another world title match. Cornette leaves despite the protests of the two men main eventing the upcoming Pay-Per-View.

Robert Roode is now in the ring. He tells us the next match is a preview of Against All Odds. Ms. Brooks interrupts Roode before he can introduce his opponent.

Ms. Brooks asks if Roode is confidant. Roode arrogantly replies with a yes. Brooks then offers to up the stakes a little more. Roode seems a little hesitant but asks Brooks what she wants to change it to. Brooks proposes that the Against All Odds stipulations be moved to tonight's match & they come up with a new one for the Pay-Per-View. Roode agrees without delay, knowing if he wins Brooks is done in TNA. Brooks asks Roode if he accepts a blind stipulation or Against All Odds. Roode accepts as he is confidant Brooks will be gone after tonight. Brooks seems happy with the quickness of his reply. Brooks tells Roode he will be doing a lot more than kissing her feet if he losses tonight, he will become her slave if he losses at Against All Odds & vice-versa for Ms. Brooks.

Roode seems to be thrown off by the confidence of Brooks, as he is slow to introduce his opponent. Shark Boy. Ms. Brooks confidence is soon replaced by nervousness.

Roode wastes little time in beating Shark Boy from corner to corner to corner. Roode hits a Pay-Off on Shark Boy but instead of pinning him invites Ms. Brooks into the ring. Roode gets a mic & offers Brooks a chance to back-out of the deal before he pins Shark Boy. Brooks doesn't reply. Roode grabs her by the hair & forces her to her knees. Mark Johnson tries to convince Roode to let go but is pushed back by Roode. Brooks hits Roode with a low blow followed by a slap across the face.

Roode stumbles back as Shark Boy goes for a school-boy pin. Johnson fast counts Roode down & awards Shark boy the surprise victory. An irate Roode chases Johnson out of the ring as Ms. Brooks goes back up the ramp with a huge smile on her face.

Shark Boy def. Robert Roode in 7:40 via pinfall.

Backstage Kurt Angle walks in on Karen Angle on her cell phone again. Karen quickly hangs up. Kurt demands to know what is going on. Karen tells him he has more important stuff to take care of. Like his world title match with Christian Cage. Karen Angle kisses Kurt on the cheek before leaving the room. Borash who as always is following Kurt agree with Karen. Kurt tells Borash to shut up & mind his own business before storming off.

The Main Event features the return to action of Gail Kim. Kim now fully recovered from her injuries at the hands of The new Women's Champion, Awesome Kong. Gail goes out like a woman possessed. ODB weather's the storm until she gets a chance to take advantage. ODB uses her strength for much of the the match while Gail tries to use her speed. The match unfortunately ends a draw. Gail Kim has ODB in a Dragon Stretch when Awesome Kong makes her way to the ring. Kong comes in behind Gail & kicks her in the head. Kong then choke slams ODB. Kong finishes off her competition with an Awesome Bomb for each.

Gail Kim vs ODB ends in a draw.

As Kong is posing with her belt, Cornette comes out clearly in a bad mood. Cornette tells Kong she isn't going to get away with taking out her competition. At Against All Odds instead of facing Gail Kim or ODB, Kong will now face both Gail Kim & ODB & anyone else Kong lays a hand on in the next few weeks. An irate Kong grabs a steel chair & heads for Jim Cornette. Cornette doesn't wait around to see what happens as he turns & runs. Matt Morgan comes out & gets in the face of Kong. After a brief stare-down, Kong drops the weapon & leaves.

- In the iMPACT! Main Event The Monster Abyss will be forced to take on the man who helped keep his secret safe. Abyss will face Rhino to keep James Mitchell quite. Abyss will have to watch his step as Mitchell made it clear, he doesnt care for Abyss & is just useing him. Mitchell also laid out a challange for Rhino. Barbed Wire Massacre 2 at Against All Odds. Abyss & Mesias vs Rhino & a partner of his choosing. Will Rhino accept the offer?

- In tag team action the Rock 'n' Rave Infection will face the newly formed team of Kaz & Booker T. Rock 'n' Rave will have to watch their backs as LAX are sure to be nearby. The same can be said for Kaz & Booker however, as Black Reign & RelliK will be looking for blood after last week.

- Petey Williams has offered to show Scott Steiner how it is done. Petey cost Steiner a match against Sonjay Dutt recently, now Petey is going up against Dutt. Petey has insisted on Steiner being ringside so he can show him a thing or two. Could the young mans arrogance get the better of him as Sonjay looks to re-establish himself in TNA.

- Samoa Joe & Jay Lethal looked good last week, can they improve some more as they big to gain possesion of the Tag team gold at Against All Odds? They'll have to as they go up against the ever dangerous Triple X. Kevin Nash is sure to be watching with intrest as he continues searching for a new tag team partner.

- Last week we saw a major upset as Shark Boy defeated Robert Roode in singles action. If Roode won, Ms. Brooks was done in TNA, however, if Shark Boy won, Robert Roode would have to get on his hands & knees & be humiliated in front of the world as he kisses the feet of Ms. Brooks. Ms. Brooks must be itching to have Roode at her feet & could cash in on it on iMPACT!

- Also on the broadcast will be Kurt Angle, Christian Cage, Eric Young, AJ Styles aswell as ODB in action.

We open iMPACT! in Jim Cornette's office where he has Kurt Angle complaining. Angle is trying to convince Cornette to change the match for Against All Odds. Just when Cornette seemed about to crack Angle pisses him off. Angle told Cornette he wouldn't have the balls to suspend the top guy as he is already under pressure. Cornette tells Angle to try him as the opening credits roll.

ODB was up next as she prepared for her three way Knockout's Championship math at Against All Odds. She faced new-comer Alexa Jade. Despite Jade getting a short flurry of offence, ODB never looked in real danger & won the match as expected with a Reverse Death valley Driver. After the match TNA Knockouts Champion Awesome Kong made her way to the ring, followed closely by her associate who is carrying a kendo stick.

ODB def. Alexa jade in 4:51 via pin fall.

Kong & ODB brawl for a short period. Kong gains the upper hand & is about to use her Awesome Bomb when ODB heads for higher ground. Alexa Jade gets back to her feet & is met by Kong. Kong backs Jade into the corner & stares menacingly at her. Kong's associate backs Kong off remembering the stipulation Cornette made a few weeks ago. Kong turns to leave when her associate quickly turns back & cracks Jade on the skull with the kendo stick, knocking her out cold.

Backstage & Christian Cage is complaining for a change. He asks Styles what was he thinking picking Elevation X. Styles responds by reminding Cage that he wanted a high risk match that Kurt couldn't win & Cage couldn't lose. Cage tells AJ he was talking about a ladder match. Styles questions Cage before declaring that a ladder match is no longer high risk. Styles walks off amused with Cage's definition of high risk.

We see Booker T getting warmed up for his match tonight when Dustin Rhodes sits down beside him. Booker is un-trusting & demands Rhodes leave his locker room now. Rhodes doesn't understand the hostility & tries to remind him of their past together. Booker isn't having any of it & ejects Rhodes.

Samoa Joe & Jay lethal are in the ring ready for their upcoming match, but Joe has a mic in hand. He reminds Nash that Against All Odds is fast approaching, & he still hasn't found a partner yet. Joe officially announces black Machismo Jay Lethal as his partner.

Despite holding the experience advantage Triple X could not find a way to defeat the X-Division Breakout Stars. Skipper was isolated & eventually beaten with a Muscle Buster/Flying Elbow Drop combination from Joe & Lethal. After the match Kevin Nash made his way out to the top of the ramp & started clapping for Joe & Lethal but with a I know something you don't know smile on his face.

Next up is Ms. Brooks who cant stop smiling. She comes to the & reminds everyone that she has a forfeit from Robert Roode that she can use at any time. Ms. Brooks calls out Roode as she is considering using it now. A clearly annoyed Robert Roode comes out without hesitation & quickly makes his way to the ring. Roode gets in the face of Brooks who simply smiles at him. Roode backs off & asks for a mic. Roode, with Mic in hand, gets in Brooks face again. Roode is about to speak when Brooks pulls the mic away from his mouth. She clicks her fingers & then points at her feet still smiling.

Roode flips off Ms. Brooks then storms out of the ring like an angry child. Roode heads backstage shaking his head while saying he wont do it. Back in the ring, Ms. Brooks is now laughing as she seems to be getting under the skin of Roode.

Backstage, Petey Williams is talking to Scott Steiner. Petey tells Steiner to grab a seat & sit ringside for the next match. Petey is going to show him how it's done in this century.

An arrogant Petey Williams easily gets the better of Sonjay Dutt early on but doesn't one attempt to end the match, not even after his Canadian Destroyer. Petey gives Steiner a thumbs up motion as he locks in the Steiner Recliner! Steiner is up out of his seat & jumps onto the apron. Petey breaks the hold & mockingly asks Steiner whats wrong. Petey then spits in the face of Steiner. Steiner swings at Petey but Petey moves back out of reach. Sonjay sensing an opportunity grabs Petey by the tights & rolls him up for another surprise victory.

Steiner gets into the ring but Petey quickly exits on the other side.

We go backstage where Robert Roode has just burst into Cornette's office. Roode tries to convince Cornette that last week shouldn't have counted because Ms. Brooks got involved in the match. Cornette reminds Roode that Ms. Brooks was invited into the ring by Roode himself. Roode asks again for Cornette to get rid of the stipulation. Cornette tells Roode he isn't getting out of it & he will kiss Ms. Brooks feet sooner, or later. Cronette even said he wants to see Roode get what he deserves.

The Rock 'n' Rave Infection are next up but without Christy Hemme. In the ring, Lance Hoyt explains that Hemme is with Shelley Martinez somewhere in the arena, knowing Christy, she is probably beating her with something to amuse herself. Hoyt & Rave find this hilarious. The opposition doesn't. Booker T & Kaz make their way out to the ramp but don't get much further. Black Reign & RelliK attack them from behind.

Kaz & Booker try to fight back but are soon out numbered 4 to 2 as Rave & Hoyt join in. Homicide & Hernandez come from the other tunnel to make the save. Reign, RelliK, Rave & Hoyt go into retreat.

Booker T & Kaz vs The Rock 'n' Rave Infection ends in a no contest.

A battered & beaten Eric Young makes his way to the ring next. He asks for & gets a mic. Eric is about to say something when Chris Harris & James Storm interrupt him. Storm says they want to be on hand to hear Eric announce his retirement.

Eric isn't here to announce his retirement, instead he is here to ask for some help. He asks for someone to come out from the back & help him defeat the evil that is Harris & Storm. No-one does. Harris & Storm start laughing after Eric Young's next comment. He asks for someone, anyone, to come out & just team with him at Against All Odds. When again no-one shows up, Harris grabs the mic off of Young & mocks him. Harris asks if it's now a 2 on 1 match at Against All Odds. Before Young can answer he gets Super kicked by James Storm.

Storm grabs a beer bottle from under the ring as Harris drags Young to his feet. Storm takes aim & is about to smash Young's head open when the lights go out. The arena remains in darkness for a few seconds. When the lights come back on Harris & Storm look around confused, while Eric Young is no-where to be seen. Harris points to the top of the ramp where a steel chair sits with a trench-coat & a Baseball bat on top on it.

Its Main Event time on iMPACT! as the screen splits into two. On the left is a fully focused Rhino. On the right is Abyss being berated yet again by James Mitchell.

Andrew Thomas may as well never have read the rule book as just about every single rule was broken tonight. After a few warnings to each, Thomas gave up & let them go at it. Rhino should have won the match when he hit Abyss with a Gore but Mitchell pulled the ref out of the ring. Judas Mesias made his entrance & took out Rhino with a steel chair. Abyss crawls over to Rhino & pins him but only gets a two count. Mesias throws the steel chair into the ring for Abyss to use but Abyss throws it back out. In doing so he gave Rhino enough time to recover. Abyss turned around & was met with a second Gore. Andrew Thomas was this time out of reach of Mitchell as Rhino got the three count.

Rhino def. Abyss via Pin fall in 25:59.

Mesias is quickly into the ring & pounds away on Rhino. Rhino fights back with a low blow before dumping Mesias out of the ring. While this was going on James Mitchell is screaming in Abyss' face. Abyss steps out of the ring as Mitchell continues screaming. Mitchell has finally stopped & turns to Mesias but ends up getting a Gore from Rhino. Rhino is left standing in the ring as Abyss makes his way up the ramp, not even looking back after the Gore.

- This week on iMPACT!, opponents are forced to team together more than once. In the main event of the evening, TNA Knockout title hopefulls, Gail Kim & ODB team up to face the young but popular team of Velvet Sky & Angelina Love. With Jim Cornette putting a no phisical contact cluase into the title match agreement, will Awesome Kong show up? If she touches Sky or Love, they are also added to the title match at Against All Odds. Her assioiciate took out Alexa Jade last week, could we see a repeat?

- The other two forced to team together are the holders of two of the Feast or Fired Briefcases. Scott Steiner teams with Petey Williams just four days away from their high stakes match at Against All Odds. They will face the ultra expieranced Voodoo Kin Mafia.

- Another piece of the Against All Odds puzzle will fall into place on Thursday when Rhino reveals his tag team partner for Barbed Wire Massacre II. Whoever it is will have a tough first task as they go one-on-one with Judas Mesias.

- Last week, Eric Young was saved from a beating by James Storm & Chris Harris. We all know who we think it is, but was it really the man they call Sting?

- Kurt Angle & Christian Cage have gone about preparing for their Elevation X match at Against All Odds in very different ways. Angle has complained to everyone & anyone & has demanded ring time this week on the show. While on the otherside, despite being unhappy with the match stipulation, Christian Cage has been training hard with help from the man who invented the match, AJ Styles. We have the video update on iMPACT!

- Against All Odds is getting closer & Kevin Nash still doesnt have a partner. Samoa Joe & Black Machismo must be making plans for the afterparty already. Nash has never been one to let the world know what he is planning, so could this all be mind games from the vetern?

- Also on iMPACT! will be Booker T, Robert Roode, Kaz & more as we make our final stop before Against All Odds.

Sonjay Dutt def. Austin Creed via Pinall after the Hindu Press. Creed looked good in his first singles match in TNA despite losing. Creed took Dutt to the limit & could have gotten the win on a few occasions. Both men shook hands after the match.

Shark Boy def. Senshi with a school boy pin. Senshi got over confidant & started to argue with Slick Johnson about a slow count. This gave Shark Boy an opportunity to catch Senshi off guard & claim the victory.

In the Main Event of Xplosion, Johnny Devine defeated Elix Skipper thanks to a Team 3D run in. After the match Brother Ray said he was sorry for having to ruin the show but they felt this was the best way to get the attention of Jim Cornette. Ray said they will continue to interrupt the show whenever they feel like it until they get a shot at the TNA Tag Team Championships.



February 7th 2008

Scott Steiner & Petey Williams being forced to team together opened the show tonight. Despite not caring for each other they did quite a number on BG James as they tried to out-do each other. The finish however came when Kip James accidentally hit BG James in the back with a steel chair. BG was attempting an Irish Whip into the ropes on Petey Williams, when Kip would take out Petey. Petey reversed & Kip couldn't stop.

After the match Kip tried to apologize to his partner but BG wasnt interested yet again. Steiner & Petey got into each others faces but didn't come to blows.

Judas Mesias & Abyss make their way to the ring next without James Mitchell. They exchange some words before Rhino interrupts them. Rhino says he enjoyed Goring Mitchell last week & at Against All Odd's, he's going to take out Mesias as-well. Rhino goes on to introduce his partner for Barbed Wire Massacre II, the sick & twisted Raven.

Mesias & Raven beat the hell out of each other without either gaining an advantage. That is until Mesias hits a low blow that Andrew Thomas missed. With Raven down Mesias demanded Abyss get him a steel chair. Abyss refused & walked half way up the ramp leaving Mesias alone. Mesias turned his attention back to Raven who was struggling to get back on his feet. Mesias dragged Raven the rest of the way up & hit Straight to Hell. Instead of pinning him tho he got into an argument with Rhino who was on the apron now.

Andrew Thomas tries to break it up but isn't having much luck. Raven is again trying to get back to his feet when Abyss slides into the ring with a chair in hand. Rhino drops down & draws Andrew Thomas out with him. Thomas sends Rhino to the back as Mesias turns back to the action. Abyss swings the chair & nearly takes off Raven's head. An irate Rhino charges back to the ring & chases off Abyss but the damage is already done. Mesias pins the unconscious Raven for the victory.

Samoa Joe & his partner for Against All Odds, Black machismo, come to the ring next. Joe calls out Kevin Nash & advises him to forfeit as it seems he hasn't found a partner in time. It doesn't take long for Nash to appear yet again with the I know something you don't know smile on his face. Nash gets into the ring & takes the insults that Joe throws at him. Nash makes a fool out of Joe by asking him to wake him when he's finished rambling. Joe is clearly upset at the lack of effect from the insults. Machismo tries to be the voice of reason & asks nicely if Nash has found a partner. Nash nods his head saying yes.

Joe demands to know who is stupid enough to team with a has-been like Nash. It isn't long before he finds out as Kip James runs in from the crowd behind Machismo & Joe. Kip hits them both with low blows. Nash then gives Machismo a Jackknife power bomb while Kip hits Joe with a Fameasser. Nash & Kip stand tall in the ring holding the Tag Team title belts above their heads.

Backstage to Kurt Angle's locker room now. Kurt is trying to talk to Karen but yet again she is on her cell phone. When she hangs up Kurt eagerly asks if its taken care of yet despite not knowing what it is. Karen tells Kurt she is nearly done & will hopefully have it ready for Against All Odds. A relieved Kurt lets out a sigh of relief & asks if he can know what it is yet, Karen again refuses.

After their disagreement last week Booker T will face Black Reign in singles action next.

Kaz & RelliK are ringside for this match to support their partners. RelliK is a constant annoyance to Booker T & Kaz ends up brawling with him on the outside. The brawl is enough of a distraction for Black Reign to use Darkness Falls on his former partner Booker T. After disposing of the evidence, Reign got Rudy Charles back into position as he then got the pin fall victory. Reign quickly went to the outside & aided RelliK against Kaz. Kaz gets thrown into the ring post before Booker T recovers enough to send Reign & RelliK into retreat.

Backstage & Robert Roode is almost pleading with Jim Cornette to discount the loss to Shark Boy a few weeks ago. Cornette tells Roode as much as he wanted to see him humiliated, the management have sent him an e-mail ordering him to take care of the situation. Cornette offers Roode a match for tonite. If he wins, all stipulations regarding Ms. Brooks are gone. But if he losses he has to kiss the feet of Ms. Brooks right away. Roode accepts the match.

Roode quickly makes his way to the ring for his match. His opponents are introduced as the Latin American Xchange. Roode has his head in his hands as he realises he was so worried about getting rid of the stipulation he didn't even ask who his opponent was.

Roode tries to keep Hernandez outside the ring as he works on Homicide. This works for about 30 seconds. Roode is then on the wrong end of a two on one beat down. During the beating, Ms. Brooks comes to ringside to rub salt into the wounds. She taunts Roode every chance she gets. That is until Christy Hemme jumps her from behind.
