Vince McMahon’s attempt to bring back ECW has failed dramatically. At the end of 2007, Vince sold all assets in ECW over to a consortium led by Paul Heyman and Shane McMahon. Vince sold all rings, video libraries and talent over to Paul and Shane and washed his hands of ECW.
Vince’s experiment had come to an end.
Paul and Shane immediately began going around the television networks looking for a deal as the Sci Fi deal had now ended. Fortunately there was one company willing to bring them back, TNN.
With a deal behind them, Paul and Shane set out on reforming ECW once again and a few cuts from the roster were made.
The following were released for not being extreme enough and not fitting the mould for the new ECW:
Matt Stryker
Snitsky
The Major Brothers
Mike Knox
And as a last favour from Vince, he allowed 5 wrestlers from the WWE roster to move with ECW and Paul & Shane picked the following:
The Hardy Boyz
Chris Benoit
Super Crazy
Gregory Helms
So the roster is now:
Bobby Lashley
Balls Mahoney
The Sandman
RVD
Elijah Burke
CM Punk
Hardcore Holly
Kevin Thorn
Tommy Dreamer
Little Guido
Marcus Cor Von
Stevie Richards
Obviously with the small roster, new faces are needed and Paul and Shane are now both scowering the indy feds for talent and hope to have some more signings before ECW’s first PPV.
So with ECW now under the hands of Heyman & McMahon, what will we expect coming out of the first PPV?

ECW.com Breaking News!
ECW Joins Forces With ROH!!
As of this afternoon, ECW and ROH have come to an agreement to co promote PPVs and also to a talent exchange that is hopefully going to be a long and succesful partnership.
And following this announcement, the first ECW PPV will now be a co production and will feature nearly every match being ECW vs ROH.
The first ECW PPV will come live from The Alhambra Arena in Philidelphia and will feature a massive 8 man war.
And the news just keeps on coming.
ECW.com has learnt of the very first new signings made by Heyman and McMahon and they are:
The Man That Gravity Forgot PAC
Sterling James Keenan
2 Cold Scorpio
The biggest free agent Paul "The Big Show" Wight
With many more to follow, ECW.com will keep you informed of any new signings.

ECW.com Breaking News!
First 5 matches announced for ECW vs ROH Arena Warfare!
ECW.com today learnt 5 of the matches scheduled for Arena Warfare and boy are there some big dream matches here.
The 5 matches announced are:
The Hardy Boyz vs PAC & Roderick Strong
Nigel McGuinness vs Sterling James Keenan vs CM Punk vs Elijah Burke for the ECW TV Title
The Briscoe Brothers vs ???
The Big Show vs Balls Mahoney
Main Event: Tommy Dreamer/Chris Benoit/RVD/??? vs Homicide/Chris Hero/Claudio Castignoli/???
Also, be sure to keep an eye on ECW.com as even more matches and wrestlers will be announced in the weeks leading up to Arena Warfare.

20 Man Battle Royal For The ECW Championship Announced For Arena Warfare!
ECW.COM today learnt that there will be a 2nd main event when ECW and ROH go head to head at Arena Warfare. Paul Heyman has decided a champion was required in ECW and the best way to do it was to have a 20 man over the top rope battle royal with the final 2 participants squaring off 1 on 1 for the ECW Title.
10 names have already been announced and Paul is tight lipped on the remaning 10 and may not even announce them until they step through the curtain.
Those 10 men are:
Bobby Lashley
Tommy Dreamer
Jimmy Rave
Sterling James Keenan
PAC
2 Cold Scorpio
RVD
The Big Show
Little Guido
Super Crazy
So as Arena Warfare approaches, the ECW locker room is buzzing and all involved are now eagerly anticipating their return to the bingo hall.
