Professional Wrestling is instigated in the time continuum. When people think about wrestling, they think about such legendary wrestlers as Lou Thez, Hulk Hogan, Harley Race and even the legendry high flying aerodynamics of the one and only Jimmy Snuka. All these men wrestling week in, week out to establish themselves and more importantly, establish the wrestling industry in the archives of history. Wresting used to be something that all generations could look up to and think “One day I want to do that”. But by the seems of it, these days it’s not about wrestling and isn’t about much else either, all it seems to be about if the money and the passion of such businessmen as Vince McMahon to drive the name of Professional Wrestling well and truly into the ground. What once was a small sport and developed into a national and world obsession had turned into something that was looked down on by many people throughout the world.
The companies that had made the business big also were not helping matters either. Teams like Val Venis and Viscera being pout together in an attempt to gel with a none too responding audience. Overuse of feuds like a John Cena/Edge feud that went on for more than half a year. Even all down to a national celebrity, hated my many, Kevin Federline beating John Cena, the WWE Champion on his own program and to make it worse, just one week before his very own title defence. This had made the WWE look like a joke and to be honest, its nearest competition, Total Nonstop Action were not exactly in their stride either.
TNA, although putting good in-ring action on with such things like the series between Samoa Joe and Kurt Angle, had struggled to concentrate on the Finance Department and come near 2007, they were made to pay. Hotel Costs and Travel Costs had gone out of the window and they couldn’t even afford to pay for a Kidney Transplant for Konnan. All these things added up to a deadly mix that could only do one thing: Explode! as good as their in ring action was, the out of ring side of things made TNA look weaker and weaker and in many peoples eyes, this cold only be the beginning of the eventual end that came for WCW and ECW in the end of course.
But with all this flustered emotion and the lack of wrestling, there was still one hope for the wrestling fans craving something new, fresh and a mix of all styles to suit their tastes, that very alternative was just around the corner. Finally, the Professional World of Wrestling had a saviour. One with pride imprinted in its heart and soul.
