In 2007, wrestling began down a road which would change the entire world forever, however it was a change for the good. WWE was still the biggest but there was now strong competition from TNA and the small ROH company was on the up but needed just that extra spark to make an impact.
And that impact was to come from a very unlikely source.
Shane McMahon approached Gabe Sapolsky and Cary Silkin about buying ROH and surprisingly they accepted and a deal was done. Shane McMahon had become the new owner of ROH and was already looking to make changes.
Almost instantly Shane looked at what he had and began to change ROH into his own federation. Gone were some of the lower card wrestlers and with the power Shane had, he took some of the talent that were being over looked in WWE.
Matt Hardy, Gregory Helms, CM Punk, Claudio Castagnoli, Paul London and Brian Kendrick all took Shane up on his offer and all switched from WWE to ROH.
Also, now with a recognised face in ownership of ROH, a deal was struck with ESPN and ROH finally had a TV deal which would air on a Friday night at 11pm and would also air in the UK on The Wrestling Channel at the same time.
Shane McMahon is eager to get started and unleash his ideas on ROH and with him still being partially connected with WWE, he has guaranteed there will be surprises in the coming months.

Well on the same line you can see what forum the thread was posted in. So it isnt too hard to see it wasnt a news story. Although at first I too thought it was real haha...
