Out of curiosity, you're not the same Big Evil as the one from BQ, are you?

I actually just started this one over on BQ2 last night, but there's not much traffic going through the btb forums anymore, so I figured I'd take it to a place where it could hopefully get noticed.

Yeah, from the looks of it there doesn't seem to be much traffic period. There's a lot more activity around these parts. Looking forward to seeing what you do with this, I vaguely remember you having a good ECW btb on the original BQ.

Yeah. E-fed's about the only thing left going, while not as strong as it used to, it's still the only viable part of the board. Oh well. First show coming up in a few minutes.

    Re: Big Evil's NWA/WCW 1989 - 1990

NWA World Heavyweight Champion: Ric Flair (Since 5/7/1989)
NWA United States Champion: Lex Luger (Since 5/22/1989)
NWA Television Champion: The Great Muta (Since 9/3/1989)
NWA World Tag Team Champions: Fabulous Freebirds (Since 6/14/1989)

    WCW Saturday Night
    November 4th 1989
    Center Stage Theatre
    Atlanta, GA

Jim Ross & Jim Cornette welcome us to the show and run down the matches announced for the Clash of the Champions: New York Knockout, including the blockbuster main event. Also tonight, Doom will make their Saturday Night debut to take on the Dynamic Dudes.

    -- Break --

Jim Ross interviews Ric Flair & Sting. They hype up the 8-man Tag Team match at the Clash where they'll face Gary Hart's J-Tex Corporation of Funk, Muta, Slater and the newest member, Buzz Sawyer. Flair & Sting agree that this is personal and they can't trust anybody but each other, so they don't need partners. Ole Anderson comes out and congratulates them on winning the Thunderdome Cage Match, but assures them that they WILL need two partners, and if he could, he'd be their partner, but there's only so much he can do. Ole tells them that he has an idea. Sting interrupts saying that they appreciate the offer and are grateful to have Ole in their corner, but they can and NEED to do this on their own.

Match #1: Dr. Death Steve Williams vs. Ray Lloyd
The future Glacier lit Doc up with some kicks early on and got him in the corner but Doc murdered him with a lariat. Doc tossed him around and got really hyped up. Doc missed a running stampede and Lloyd went for a spinning heel kick but Doc caught him for a t-bone suplex. Oklahoma Stampede ends it.
Winner: Dr. Death Steve Williams (3:25)

Kevin Sullivan cuts a pre-tape interview and he has Woman by his side, revealing to be the man behind the Woman. Sullivan says that Spivey backed down, Rotunda failed him, but come the Clash, he's putting an end to the Varsity Club war with Doom by his side, and Dr. Death will be nothing more than a foot note.

    -- Break --

Mike Rotunda cut a pre-tape interview talking about his match with Scott Hall at the Clash of the Champions. He laughed at Hall's shoddy record since coming into the NWA. Then he brings up his AMAZING year in 1988 and how he hasn't looked back since, and even though he's not in the Varsity Club anymore, he's still the CAPTAIN.

Match #2: Scott Hall vs. Cuban Assassin
Assassin attacked Hall during his entrance to the ring but it didn't last long. Hall hit his epic punches to take CA off his rocker and hit a huge fallaway slam. Hall took too long to capitalize and Assassin chop blocked his knee. He put Hall on the top rope for a superplex but Hall kicked him in the face. Assassin turned around in pain and Hall hit the big bulldog off the middle rope to win.
    Winner: Scott Hall (4:52)

Jim Ross interviewed Scott Hall after the match about his encounter with Rotunda at the Clash coming up. Hall mocked Rotunda's interview asking him if he realized 1988 was over. Infact, 1989 was almost over, and Rotunda's nothing more than a jabroni who couldn't hold Kevin Sullivan's jockstrap anymore. He'll let Rotunda know who the star of the 90's is gonna be at the Clash, chico.

    -- Break --

Jim Ross interviews the Fabulous Freebirds. They talk about getting out of Halloween Havoc as the Tag Team Champions still and laugh because now, neither of Cornette's teams will ever get a Tag Title shot as long as their champions. They're reminded of them having to face the Road Warriors at the Clash. They're surprisingly optimistic because as Garvin mentions, if they beat the Road Warriors, they've beaten everybody and they've beaten the best. HEAVEN DON'T WANT US AND HELL'S TOO AFRAID WE'D TAKE OVER.

Match #3: Flyin' Brian Pillman vs. Mike Awesome
Pillman tries to mat wrestle at the start and works on Awesome's shoulder. Awesome kips up out of an armbar and sweeps Pillman to the ground. He works on his right knee a bit to try and stop him from flying around. Pillman rolls out of a crossbody attempt and goes for one of his own, but misses! Pillman rolls to the apron and Awesome lunges at him. Pillman ducks and lunges through the middle of the ropes to gut check Awesome. Awesome stumbles back and Pillman goes for the Springboard Lariat, but AWESOME CATCHES HIM AND HITS A CROSS ARMBREAKER! Awesome goes to pin him but Pillman kicks out. Awesome sets him up for a Powerbomb but Pillman slips out and takes him down with a headscissors. Pillman favors his arm as he heads up top and hits the Superfly Splash to win!
    Winner: Flyin' Brian Pillman (6:01)

Post-match, we notice that Pillman hurt his arm even more when he landed on Awesome as he can't even raise his arm up to celebrate. Suddenly, LEX LUGER COMES FROM BEHIND AND NAILS PILLMAN IN THE SHOULDER WITH THE US TITLE! Pillman goes down and Luger stomps away at his arm. He chucks him to the outside and runs him arm first into the post a bunch of times before putting him in the Torture Rack on the outside. A bunch of referees come out and break it apart and Luger celebrates.

    -- Break --

After the break, Lex Luger's taken over the announcer's position and demanded to be interviewed by Jim Ross. He tells Ross that he heard he's supposed to defend the US Title against Brian Pillman, AGAIN, at the Clash of the Champions, but that's a crock. He beat Pillman fair and square at Halloween Havoc, so why should he get another title shot? He's more than happy to wrestle him again at the Clash, but it's going to be non-title. He has carte blanche as the most prestigious champion in the NWA, and the Total Package doesn't defend the title against people who don't deserve it. He brings back his open challenge, saying if there's anyone old or new in the back who would like to make a name for themselves, he's in the mood to make a star tonight. CAPTAIN REDNECK DIRTY DICK MURDOCH MAKES HIS WAY OUT! Murdoch says he ususally wouldn't give a shit about stuff like this, but what he just did to Pillman was a load of horse manure and if Luger's offering a chance at that belt, then he's got himself a challenger, and if he wins, he'll give Brian Pillman the first shot. Luger mocks Murdoch for being dirty and demands that he wash under his finger nails before their match tonight, or it won't happen. Murdoch claims his fingernails are clean and tells Luger to take a closer look and he SLAPS HIM ACROSS THE FACE, HARD AS SHIT! MURDOCH AND LUGER, TONIGHT!

    -- Break --

Jim Ross interviews Ole Anderson, who's asked for this time. He says he knows Flair & Sting are being stubborn because of what's gone on the past few months with Gary Hart and J-Tex, but they cannot do this on their own, not against all four of them, they're not understanding that. He has two guys in mind, and it might be a little bit tricky, but it'll do the trick. And if he has to go above their heads to get it done, then so be it, but it's for the best.

Match #4: Doom w/ Woman vs. Dynamic Dudes w/ Jim Cornette
Cornette gives the Dudes a good pep talk before the match and gets their heads back in the game after the loss at Havoc. Doom #1 beats the shit out of Johnny Ace right away and it's hilarious. Ace is awful. #1 hits some sick backwork including a devestating backbreaker. Ace gets isolated and #1 & #2 go in and out, murdering Ace's back and setting up for the end. They go for a spike piledriver but Cornette trips #2 on the middle rope. Ace hits a really, really bad hurricanranna and rolls to the corner to tag in Douglas. Douglas hits a springboard dropkick to take #1 out of the way. He ducks a few lariats from #1 and hits him with a huge jump spinning DDT. Suddenly, the Midnight Express come out and start arguing with Cornette. Cornette's yelling back and pointing back towards the ring with his racket, telling MX to watch and realize that they're not bad and can be their proteges instead of their enemies. As he's ranting, Lane moves close towards him and Cornette jumps back and ACCIDENTALLY NAILS DOUGLAS IN THE BACK WITH THE RACKET! Douglas stumbles down and #2 picks him up to hit the Gorilla Press Slam to win.
    Winner: Doom (8:25)

Post-match, Cornette flips out on the Midnight Express and Lane & Eaton drag him to the back, yelling at him. The Dudes start to get up and Woman tells Doom to finish the job and they attack the Dudes again! They set up again for the Spike Piledriver but HERE COME THE STEINERS! THE PLACE EXPLODES! SUPLEXES! STEINERLINES! FUCK YEAH! DOOM BAILS OUT WITH WOMAN SCREAMING!

    -- Break --

Back from break, Jim Cornette has rejoined JR at the announcer's area and he's pacing back and fourth, pissed off. JR's hyping up the rest of the show when Cornette takes the mic and demands Eaton & Lane get out here. Cornette says he's had enough. This isn't making him choose between the two teams, if anything, it's pushing him away from the Midnight Express, and he doesn't want to do that. He's not managing the Dudes, he's only advising them, and they need to get that through their heads. Eaton shuts Lane up and Eaton actually becomes the voice of reason, saying that maybe Cornette is right, but it's gonna take more convincing. SUDDENLY THE DYNAMIC DUDES RUSH OVER FROM THE RING AND ATTACK THEM! BOTH TEAMS BRAWL ALL ACROSS THE INTERVIEW AREA AND CORNETTE'S FLIPPING OUT! A shit ton of referees run over and break it all apart, taking the Dudes to the back. Lane yells "THAT'S ALL THE CONVINCING WE NEED! SEE YOU AT THE CLASH!"

The Road Warriors cut a pre-tape promo with Paul Ellering. They hype up their Tag Team Title shot at the Clash. Hawk says he has a bad feeling, bringing up how they lost the titles originally when Teddy Long screwed them. Animal assures him there's nothing to worry about. Ellering looks ahead to after the Clash, knowing that the Skyscapers are coming after them. Ellering puts it simple, the only thing that he knows is the bigger they are, the harder, and farther they fall...in more ways than one. FREEBIRDS, GET READY.

Jim Ross interviews Gary Hart prior to the 8-Man Tag Team Match. Hart puts over his stable of men, officially introducing the world to Buzz Sawyer. He says the stable isn't complete yet, there's still one more man to be added, but that's for another day, that's for after the Clash...or maybe at the Clash. He says he admires Ricky Flair and the Sting's testicular fortitude, but he mocks their lack of mental stability for not wanting partners but hey, that just makes the job all that easier for them. And after that, they'll talk about Funk ending his problems with Flair and bringing the World Title home to J-Tex Corporations.

Match #5: J-Tex Corporation [Funk/Sawyer/Slater/Muta] w/ Gary Hart vs. Cruel Connection, Agent Steel & The Enforcer
It's a mad house pier-6 brawl to start things off. Funk takes Gene Anderson's kid to the outside and grinds his face against the railing and tries ripping at his mask. He gets a nice hunk of it off and starts choking Agent Steele with it. Slater & Sawyer kick the shit out of the Cruel Connection up the aisleway and practically into the crowd, throwing furniture all around. Slater even hits a Russian Leg Sweep on the entryway onto Cruel Connection #1. Back in the ring, Muta flips around to tire out the Enforcer. Handspring back elbow missed but he mists the Enforcer in the eyes! Muta hits a pescado before going up and hitting the Mutasault. There were never any legal tags but the referee says to hell with it and counts to 3 for Muta.
    Winners: J-Tex Corporation (2:53)

Post-match, Slater & Sawyer continue to kill the Cruel Connection in the aisleway. Slater DDT's #1 onto the floor and Sawyer hits a running powerslam on #2, sending him on top of #1. Back at ringside, Funk pulls the time keeper's table over and goes to Piledrive Steel through it but Gary Hart calls him off. Funk backs down and starts to relax until he sees Steel getting back up. Funk yells that he's been provoked and Hart agrees so FUNK PILEDRIVERS STEEL THROUGH THE TABLE! J-Tex Corporation poses in the ring with Gary Hart celebrating.

    -- Break --

Jim Ross interviews Teddy Long about what the Road Warriors said earlier and what Paul Ellering's comments could mean. Teddy Long doesn't care, he just wants to make it known that Theodore R. Long Incorporated supports the Road Warriors quest in winning the Tag Titles. The Skyscrapers are coming for the Road Warriors after the Clash, and if they have the titles on them, that'll make it all that much better when they beat them, and they will beat them too, belie dat, playa.

Match #6: The Skyscrapers w/ Teddy Long vs. Brad Armstrong & Ranger Ross
Armstrong & Spivey actually have an awesome amateur battle in the early parts and do some decent matwork. Armstrong tries to outrun Spivey but gets caught dead with a big boot followed by a chokebomb. Spivey forces Armstrong to tag in Ross and Ross blindsides Spivey and gets a great house of fire going. He turns to celebrate but doesn't realize he's backed Spivey into his own corner and Sid tags in and quickly gets behind his opponent from the last Clash. Ross turns around to see a meniachally laughing Sid standing tall. Sid chokeslams Ross straight to hell. After a sick backbreaker and helicopter Slam, the Double Powerbomb ends it.
    Winners: The Skyscrapers (1:52)

    -- Break --

JR & Cornette recap what happened earlier tonight during Brian Pillman's match and update us on his injured arm, saying he has some torn ligaments in his shoulder, but nothing that'll sideline him for too long, he'll be good to go for the Clash. They also replay Luger's interview with Dick Murdoch accepting the open challenge.

Match #7: Lex Luger [c] vs. Dick Murdoch [NWA United States Championship]
Luger attacks Murdoch during the big time introductions and gets a good flow going in the corner, working his midsection over. Murdoch catches his shoulder thrusts and hammers away at Luger's shoulders and focuses his attack there, trying to prevent any use of the Torture Rack later on. Murdoch stretches Luger out on the mat, tossing in a great abdominal stretch, focusing the stretching on the shoulders and hammering away with his free arm. Luger powers out and powerslams Murdoch down, hard. Luger hits the big flying forearm and poses a bit. He ties Murdoch's left arm up in the ropes and starts to apply pressure to it, trying to break it! He hammers away it as Murdoch screams in pain. Luger takes him to the outside and starts ramming him arm first into the steel post. He wraps Murdoch's arm around the steel post and pulls back HAAAARD on it. Murdoch lets out a strange squeal and JR assumes his arm is on the verge of breaking. Luger rolls Murdoch back in the ring and locks on an armbar near the ropes and Murdoch breaks it but Luger waits til 4 1/2 to let go. Murdoch stumbles up, holding his arm to his side in pain and Luger kicks him hard and lifts him up in the Torture Rack, closing his bad arm in with the hold and Murdoch submits.
Winner: ...and STILL NWA United States Champion, Lex Luger (7:25)

Post-match, Lex Luger shoves the referee away and grabs a steel chair from the outside. He wraps Murdoch's arm around it. He looks around at the crowd and screams something about Pillman before STOMPING ON THE CHAIR, FUCK IT'S BROKEN! Luger lifts him up as he screams and goes to put him in the Torture Rack...BUT HERE COMES FLYIN' BRIAN! BRIAN USES HIS GOOD ARM TO SPRINGBOARD TO THE ROPES AND HIT THE FLYING LARIAT! LUGER GOES DOWN! PILLMAN WITH A DROPKICK AND LUGER GOES BACK DOWN! PILLMAN PICKS UP THE CHAIR AND STARTS SWINGING WITH HIS GOOD ARM AND LUGER BAILS OUT! BUT HE'S LEFT THE UNITED STATES CHAMPIONSHIP BEHIND! PILLMAN PUTS IT AROUND HIS WAIST AND POSES ON THE MIDDLE ROPE TO END THE SHOW BAH GAWD!
