    This.

If you're in it purely to fuel your own ego, then don't do it. If you're doing it because you enjoy it and want to be creative, and most importantly have FUN doing it, feedback, or votes shouldn't matter. Reading Big Papa's and Ed's (and a lot of others, including Shade's and Jimmie's) really motivate me to write the best I can.

Guess I'll have to retire. My ego needed a boost so I came here

At the moment though, I'm just not interested in doing so, if one person or even two read my BTB then I guess those are all the only people who will read them, it makes my writing sort of moot but I enjoy it so it won't hurt myself too much. I'm at the point where, getting more shows up is much more satisfying than getting a lot of viewers. I do of course interact at times with the rest of the site (namely pay-per-view time, I'm pretty sure I posted a good amount of times for both EC & RR) and I probably am more motivated at that time. I do read other sections, I just never get around to posting.

Once more though, I do agree 100% that expanding your posting zone will help you a great deal if you want to expand those who read your thread.
I wouldn't call it flawed. To me calling it "flawed" makes it seem wrong and its not. Its simply an approach with a drawback. If you recognize and accept that drawback, fair play.

If you enjoy it, writing is never moot or a waste. I always say you should write for your own enjoyment first and foremost. Like epo says, it is not and should never be about validation. I pointed this out in the BTB Tip Sheet - the amount of validation you get, even when you have a well-read project, is never likely to even out to the amount of work you put into your project.

Oh, and you definitely have more than two people reading your current project...

I understand this point of view and I feel exactly the same. My project is literally I sat down and watched some 2001,2002,2003 & 2004 wrestling and really wanted to write my own way of things. I don't ever expect to get people loving my stuff and I am honoured just to have been in the running, I am proud just to be anywhere near the BTB of the Month because I never feel like my stuff is strictly better than anyone elses or anyones is worse in mine, I just write for my own entertainment.

I do enjoy getting feedback just because I find it can be a motivation but if your not writing a project just for enjoyment rather than recognition, I think your in the wrong place. In the end if your not writing the project for your own enjoyment and rather people commenting, then that is the reason why a lot of BTB's last a couple of weeks at the most.

I know I'm not "big" on these boards and I know I'm by far not the best but I think if you don't write the project for yourself and instead write it for everyone else then your just going to be disappointed. Just enjoy expressing yourself rather than people appreciating your project.....

    Just my two cents...

Spot on, I love doing this, most of my life is by the book, life, work , family & relationships, this is my chill out time. I can be as creative, silly & weird. I do try to make sure I have something for everyone in my BTB, whether that will be entertaining for others not sure. I have read so many great ones & I wanted to be different. Can a woman beat a superstar in wrestling not often, I know we get some females on here & that's great, but Batista vs Kelly Kelly odds on who would win of course not, but that's the unpredictability of doing it & I allow myself to get caught up in the moment, as if watching it unfold & that's how most of my matches end.

There have been many times where I had an idea who was going to win, but once I started the match & things happened I'd find myself tinkering with it & that's the fun part about me trying to do a match that can somehow I can make it as competitive as I want that's the thrill of doing it. I enjoy seeing how creative I can be with Mason Ryan, Sheamus, Cody Rhodes, Great Kahli, Wade Barrett, Ezekiel Jackson, The Rock & turn John Cena heel & I'd like to think those of you who have read it on page 19 of my RAw Show 13 would agree the John Cena heel turn is not half bad & be actually ok.

I constantly take on board any suggestions, but at the end of the day I enjoy reading other BTB & doing my own because as I said at the top of this post it's cool being creative & as long as I keep it clean I think that's important. I do enjoy getting private message & also enjoy posting reviews on others show because of the work it takes to put one together. I think the previous comment hits it on the head, but that doesn't mean suggestions aren't good. Example because of feed back I will introduce a Hardcore belt, I give mid carders a decent run, I have used Mistico rather then Sin Cara & given Mason Ryan a very good run.

Even now I am looking constantly laterally for many ways to improve & I get a kick out of doing this. His another thing some of the weird & out of the box ideas have actually without even noticing immediately played a part in the way I do things in everyday life. My sales figures are way better then ever & the areas I wouldn't have thought of because of being closed minded are just coming naturally to the point, friends, family & even my work mates & boss see it.

So guys I will continue to do this because I enjoy it, do I have time to do it everyday of course not. But sometimes I actually only get on to read what others have done because I might have a small writers block & then by reading something Greenchad1, Big Papa, Aking, Mr Showtime, Goat, Millar, Ed, EgoFantastic, DarkestEarth, to name some off the top of my head have enjoyed reading & getting ideas from. I like Epo's stuff too & it cool also seeing a new BTB member take flight & see their BTB grow & the direction the person takes it.

There's another reason why i enjoy doing my own, because i can develop tag team wrestling, the US Title & Intercontinental to mean something even if a diva wears the belt. I can also do the matches & card of what I would have loved to have seen, even though the outcome of my matches are different then I actually wanted too. This is why I have the superstars from just past it, mixing it with the current roster & the future. After all Brutus Magnas, Mason Ryan came from Gladiators fame. So you can see even by this what I planned on being a quick reply ended being longer then some matches I do & this is why I enjoy doing my BTB for the fun of it & now real enjoyment of it too.

    Re: BTB of the Month

Hey guys been struck down with the flu but fel much better after seeing I came quite high in this months poll, thanks to all whovoted for me...been a bit behind last few weeks but shall get round to my usual reviewing self.

I agree it has to be an enjoyed project and not a project to fuel the publics needs. If you dont enjoy it yourself how can you expect others to

Congratulations on Papa on winning this months votes...you were a worthy winner. But there was about 10 BTBs that I read that I liked and it was very difficult to pick

Hopefully I can salvage the month of March and get some shows up...

If I can just weigh in here.

I moved from other sections into BTB. I post in those sections, mostly because I have strong opinions on wrestling that I think may add to a debate. It's not like BTB where you spend a long time reading shows etc.

Posts are short, it takes about 5 minutes to read a normal thread, and once you've read it, it's easy to tell where your opinions lie/what side of the debate you agree on. It's not just about getting your name known, it's validating opinions you have which may help your writing in the future. Expanding the mind to what potential readers like/dislike could be a valuable part of making your BTB readable.

The reason I moved here was because I've been talking about doing The Kayfabe Diaries for ages, and I have nothing to do for about 5/6months so I thought what the hell.

    Re: BTB of the Month

You pm me your top three choices for the month. Number 1 gets three points, number 2 gets two points, number 3 gets one point. I add them up and the winner is the btb with the most points.
