WWE: Vince's Grand Finale

Vince McMahon had a dream, a dream of his own WWE Network. Vince outline a plan to get the supposed network up and running in two years time. Already possessing over 100,000 hours of programming, four current programs, and a few WWE Studio pictures the channel had everything it needed to get off the ground but Vince knew the dream needed one thing and that was NEW SUPERSTARS!!!

The inability to create new superstars was becoming a major problem as viewers were turning away from a product showcasing the same stars over and over again. The WWE's talent developmental system had been turning out quality ring performers but hadn't turned out a "real" superstar since John Cena. Vince saw this as a problem that needed addressed way before the launch of the WWE Network.

Panda Energy was being hit hard in the ethanol market having to file for bankruptcy on some of their power plants across the United States. The Carter family decided TNA was an expendable luxury and leaked the information that they were considering selling it off to the right buyer. Vince finally agreed to purchase TNA Wrestling for 600k, 100k more then Panda bought it for several years back. The acquistion of TNA left Vince with a television contract with Spike TV for programming and in turn Vince took ECW off of the SyFy network, who jumped at the chance to fill the slot with their own programming, to fill the obligation. This expanced ECW to a two hour format. Vince also struck a deal with SpikeTV's parent company, MTV Networks to bring back "Heat" to air on the CMT Network. Vince felt that "Heat" would second "Superstars" as a tri-branded program that will showcase wrestlers left off of the three main broadcasts.

Quickly, the McMahons and the WWE's creative teams sat down and made up a listt of superstars from around the world that they wanted in the WWE. They decided to explain the changes with a special surprise draft by RAW guest host, Paul Heyman, due to his ties to Smackdown and ECW as the explanation for the event. This shake up allowed the creative team to reshape each show with new champions and the additions of the new superstars. RAW was positioned as the flagship show, ECW was once again the build-up show and Smackdown being the number two show.

Vince now had the best superstars in the business to fufill his dream of the WWE network, the only question left is.....

"WILL IT WORK?"

11/3/2009

ECW starts over with WWE Chairman, Vincent Kennedy McMahon, in the ring with a microphone in his hand. Vince goes on to talk about Paul Heyman’s actions on RAW the night before, he talks about how in one night, Heyman has ruined everything Vince has built., just like he did with ECW. He goes on and talks about his firing of ECW General Manager, Tiffany, after her betrayal, making the deal with Heyman for the surprise WWE draft. He announces that he has hired a new ECW General Manager, a person he can trust, someone he has known for years, a man that he made personally a star in this business. The crowd is antsy as the familiar car crashing sound is heard over the p.a. system as “The Hardcore Legend” Mick Foley appears on the ramp. He comes down to the roar of the crowd and shake hands with McMahon, who exit’s the ring. Foley then does his usual plug to the crowd and declares he will lead ECW back to their glory days. He announces that his first official act as ECW General Manager is to bring back two ECW Originals. Joey Styles and Taz make their ring to the ring, too another roar from the crowd and take their positions at the ECW announce table. They talk about how grateful they are to be back in ECW before we head to the first commercial break.

We come back from commercial break and see the highlights of MVP’s victory over Christian Cage last night to become ECW Heavyweight Champion. Styles and Taz put MVP over as the right man to lead the “new” ECW. We are then sent to the back to the reassigned, Josh Matthews, with the new champion.

MVP talks about how he is proud to finally being holding a major Heavyweight Championship. He goes on to thank his fans and tells them he will try to be the greatest ECW Heavyweight Champion in history. He goes on with the same kind of talk until he is interrupted by Mr. Kennedy. Kennedy and MVP get face to face as Kennedy claims that MVP has more less stolen his spot in the company after he left. The two about come to blows until GM Mick Foley shows up. Foley tells Kennedy that he likes his spunk but tells him he has to earn a title shot. He makes a match for Kennedy to face new ECW stars, Jack Swagger, Dolph Ziggler, and Matt Hardy in a Fatal Four Way for ECW Heavyweight title shot at Survivor Series. Kennedy shakes his head in agreement, stares at MVP and walks away. Foley tells MVP, that’s how it feels to be a champion and wishes MVP good luck. We go the ring for the first match of the night.

Hurricane Helms VS Kaval

A back and forth match between the two saw Kaval come up a bit short in his debut as he is defeated by Hurricane Helms by pin fall after the Shining Wizard. Kaval is praised by Taz for his relentless offense with his lack of experience being the cause of his loss. Hurricane plays to the crowd as we go to commercial.

Winner-Hurricane Helms via pin fall after “Shining Wizard”

We come back from commercial and we see the comeback of The Dudleys last night on RAW. The Dudleys show up wearing their old ECW Tag Title belts and challenged anybody in the back to the match. The recently drafted Carlito and Primo Colon reunited to challenge The Dudleys but came up a bit short.

Taz and Styles then take the cue and starts talking about the new emphasis on tag team wrestling once again in the WWE. They put over that they have many new teams debuting in the next few weeks and have two of them tonight in the first match on ECW. The crowd is excited as Homicide and Hernandez, The Latin American Xchange is announced along with Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley, The Motor City Machine Guns as the combatants.

Quote:
Latin American X-change VS The Motor City Machine Guns

Both teams showed off their talent during the debut matches in the WWE. The Guns used their quick, high-flying double team moves to “wow” the crowd as LAX showed their brawling style in contrast. The match ended in a double count out as Hernandez did his “Super Mex” dive over the top, taking out the Guns and his partner. The crowd and announces praise both teams for their efforts.

Winner-Double Count Out

We are quickly sent to the back as we The Dudleys watching the show on a monitor in the back. They don’t seem impressed by the last match as they turn around and Jim Cornette walks into the picture. They ask Cornette what he wants and Cornette tells him if they’re not impressed by those two teams, they will be impressed by Cornette’s. The Dudleys listen as Cornette states that his new proteges will be making their debut this Thursday on “WWE Superstars”. Cornette walks out as The Dudleys think about their competition. We go to commercial.

We come back from break and learn that Katie Lee has joined Joey Styles and Taz on commentary. The next match is announced as a ECW Diva tag match. Music hits as the crowd cheers as “The Beautiful People” make their ECW debut. Velvet Sky and Angelina Love make their usual popular entrance to the catcalls from the male fans. Their opponents is announced as the beautiful Kelly Kelly and the newly crowned ECW Women’s Champion, Hamada. Highlights is shown of Hamada winning the ECW Women’s Title gauntlet match with a pin over Katie Lee to win the title,

Quote:

The Beautiful People VS Hamada & Kelly Kelly

Hamada showed off her skills as she it seemed that she tried her best to keep Kelly Kelly out of the match up. Her unique Japanese/Mexican style confused Angelina Love as the Beautiful People constantly fled to the outside to regroup. Katie Lee downplays Hamada dominance on commentary, stating that she won’t get that lucky with her. Kelly Kelly looks frustrated with her lack of action and finally tags in by hitting the back of Hamada as she attempts a suplex. The two exchange words as finally the ref forces Hamada to leave the ring. The continue to argue as Katie Lee jumps up from her announce table spot and pulls Hamada’s legs out from under her, causing her to come down face first into the apron and then whips the Women’s champion into the steel steps. The referee misses the action as he is distracted from a shrieking, Angelina Love on the apron. In the ring, Kelly Kelly turns to Velvet Sky, it looks like the two are ready to hook it up but instead they hug. Angelina Love enters the ring and the three raise the hands in unity. Styles and Taz is trying to figure out what is going on as Katie Lee rolls Hamada back in. Kelly Kelly tags in her partner as Love and Sky drag her body from the ropes and Sky makes the pin for the three count. Styles and Taz can’t believe as the are in total amazement of the turn of Kelly Kelly on Hamada and her joining “The Beautiful People.”

Winner-The Beautiful People via pin fall after cover by Velvet Sky

We go back to Josh Matthews for an interview with Santino but the interview turns into a comical bit as Hornswoggle, Gold Dust, Festus, Trevor Murdoch, Super Crazy and The Boogeyman show up with various comical acts. After the last one leaves and the crowd’s laughter dies down, Santino looks upset and tells Matthews he is tired with being the WWE’s biggest joke. He storms out of the interview leaving Matthews speechless and we go to commercial.

We come back with Styles and Taz reviewing the night events so far and the last segment with an upset Santino. Taz puts over Santino as a talent guy, who might finally have decided to become a real superstar instead of a weekly gag reel. Music hits as Taz sounds like he is about to have an orgasm. The crowd cheers as Samoa Joe appears on the ramp with his trademark towel around his back. He storms down to the ring as Taz puts him way over as one of his former students. Taz states that he wants to personally welcome Joe to ECW and enters the ring to meet him. Taz tells the WWE fans that Joe is here in ECW to be the man that can finally fills his shoes. He tells them all about Joe, his brutal style, wrestling expertise and most importantly the guts to get the job done, no matter what it takes. Joe then tells the crowd that he has heard the snickers from them since his joining the WWE was announced and tells them that he is going to earn his spot here in the WWE. He then makes an open challenge to any ECW Superstar. He states the stipulation to be contract vs. contract, the loser leaves the WWE completely. The crowd cheers as the music of Slam Master J is heard and he heads down to the ring.
Quote:

Slam Master J VS Samoa Joe

The Slam Master J entrance lasted longer then the match. Joe hits J with a thunderous belly to back, follows it with a whip to the corner, a running knee to the face and then the Muscle Buster for the victory. He then punches J in the face until he starts to bleed. The referee finally gets Joe off of him to check on his condition as Joe finally walks over and wipes some blood off of J with his towel. Taz is going wild explaining that Joe is more less is notching his belt with that gesture. The crowd gives Joe a mixed reaction as Slam Master J is taken away for the last time on WWE Television. We see a quick shot of Jack Swagger, Kennedy, Hardy and Ziggler all getting ready for the match up in the main event before we go to commercial.

Winner-Samoa Joe via pin fall after a “Muscle Buster”

We come back from commercial to another highlight from RAW as we see Tommy Dreamer winning the ECW Television Title Battle Royal in Heyman’s reintroduction of the title. Dreamer not only won the title but also vanquished nine other ECW Superstars to other shows. The victory celebration was cut short as Dreamer was hit with a Gore from a returning Rhino, who held the title over the fallen Dreamer before dropping it on his chest. Dreamer is standing by with Josh Matthews.

Matthews ask Dreamer about his title win which Dreamer also talks about how great it is to be a champion. After some cheap plugs, the interview turns too Rhino’s actions, which gets a rise from Dreamer. Dreamer takes us down memory land talking about him and Rhino in the old ECW. He calls Rhino a coward for attacking him from behind and not meeting him face to face in the ring. In mid sentence, Dreamer is interrupted as Rhino attacks once again. This time though, Dreamer gets blows in also as both men are standing the ground as security breaks them up.

We go back to ringside as Styles announces that ECW Superstars, Ricky Ortiz and Tyler Reks will be facing off this week on WWE Superstars this Thursday and the comeback of Daviari will take place on the new Heat broadcast on the CMT network as he will face “The American Dragon” Bryan Danielson. They then turn their attention to the next match up as the music of Evan “Air” Bourne fills the arena. The crowd gives him a good pop as he makes his way too compete. Music the hits as Justin Roberts announce his opponent as Austin Aries. Styles and Taz talk about an early encounter with Aries as they both expect big things for the new star.
Quote:

Evan Bourne VS Austin Aries

Aries started off hot in his debut, mocking the capacity crowd as he grounded the high flying Bourne. One mistake is all it took for Bourne to take control as he landed on his feet after a back drop. Bourne had the arena rocking along with Aries after a serious of breath taking moves. Aries looked out off it as Bourne scaled the top rope for the 450 moonsault but caught a stomach full of Aries knees for his effort. Aries then cleared out the cobwebs and climbed to the top himself and hit a Macho Man-like elbow to Bourne and got the three count. Taz and Styles spoke about how impressive the victory was as Aries wiped off the sweat off his brow and flicked it on the fallen Bourne as the ref raised his hand in victory.

Winner-Austin Aries via pin fall after a Flying Elbow Drop.

Styles and Taz put over the main event coming up next as we see all four wrestlers, Jack Swagger, Mr. Kennedy, Matt Hardy and Dolph Ziggler, who stops and introduces himself to Curt Hawkins, getting ready to come to the ring. We then see a final shot of the ECW Heavyweight Champion, MVP making his way too as we head to the last commercial break.

When we come back Jack Swagger and Dolph Ziggler are already in the ring as the music plays for Matt Hardy to a solid ovation from the crowd. Hardy enters the ring and stares down the other too as Styles and Taz talks about Kennedy’s earlier actions as Kennedy is introduced. The crowd gives Kennedy a mixed reaction as he enters the ring and the other three bail out. Kennedy calls for the old fashion microphone to be dropped down and makes his own personal introduction of himself. The other three return to the ring as the music of the ECW Heavyweight Champion, MVP hits to the loudest pop of the night, MVP is stared out by all four men as he settles in at the announce table to join Styles and Taz.

Quote:
Matt Hardy VS Jack Swagger VS Dolph Ziggler VS Mr. Kennedy

The main event was a solid match with near-falls for all of the contestants. Since the start of the match, it seemed that the three heels decided to take the crowd favorite, Matt Hardy, out of the match with a series of double team moves. After a devastating DDT from Ziggler, his pin fall attempt was broken up by Swagger and all bets where off from that point. Swagger started dominating the match in the middle part as he showcased his power with slams on all three men, only to get a near fall on Ziggler. Dolph got his foot on the rope to stop the count. Styles, Taz and MVP sings the praises of the match as MVP is sure to point out that all four men would be worthy contenders for his title. Swagger then was caught by a rejuvenated Matt Hardy. Hardy went on a roll from there catching Swagger with a bulldog and then Ziggler with a Side Effect. He went for the cover but was broken up by a diving Mr. Kennedy. Kennedy looked to take control but Hardy reversed with a “Twist of Fate” as the crowd and the announcers showed their excitement. He went for the sure cover only to be broken up by a diving Swagger. Hardy rocked Swagger with a series of punches and sidestepped a cross body attempt by Ziggler from behind, allowing Ziggler to take out Swagger instead and the two spilled out through the ropes and onto the arena floor. The crowd was roaring as Hardy stalked Kennedy to get up and cinched in another “Twist of Fate” attempt. This time however, Kennedy blocks the attempts and spins Hardy around and catches him with a surprise “Stunner”. Kennedy makes the cover and gets the win.

Winner- Mr. Kennedy via pin fall after a “Stunner”

Kennedy is proud of himself as the crowd boos the outcome. He calls for the microphone again and it drops down from the ceiling and he boasts himself as the winner. MVP stands up from the announcer’s table and stares down his opponent at Survivor Series. We go quickly backstage as we see new ECW General Manager, Mick Foley and WWE Chairman, Vince McMahon watching the events that has just unfolded. Vince congratulates Foley on a job well-done. Foley flashes an almost toothless smile as McMahon exits the office. Styles and Taz talks about the little interaction that just happened and thanks everybody for tuning in and reminds them to tune in next week as the show goes off the air.

The show starts off as Todd Grisham and Al Snow at the commentary table welcoming everybody to the WWE War Zone in Orlando, Florida. Grisham welcomes Al Snow back to the WWE as Snow talks about how great is to be back. The two talk about special RAW Guest host, Paul Heyman, Monday setting the WWE on it’s ear with his reshuffling off the WWE brand rosters. They both talk about how great this is for the WWE and it’s fans and gives a run-down of the night’s matches.

They then introduce the newest member to the WWE broadcasting team, Larry Sweeney, who is backstage with Ricky Ortiz. Sweeney asks Ortiz about his return but Ortiz tells him to shut up. Ortiz, who is now sporting a short haircut instead of his wild afro-like do, tells Sweeney that he is done trying to play for the fan’s cheers, that is was time for Ortiz to only worry about himself and tells Sweeney that he is now going by his true name, Ricardo Ortiz. Ortiz promises the fans that tonight they will get their first taste of the real Ricardo Ortiz. At the end of the interview, Tyler Reks walks by, acting like he is “high: on something,. He asks Ortiz what happened to his hair as Ortiz responds with a slap across his face. Ortiz walks away as Reks looks in disbelief at what happened as we go to commercial.

We come back from commercial and Grisham talks about Ortiz’s actions before the break. Snow says he likes Ortiz’s new attitude and jokes about his name change. Grisham joins in and finally ends the bad jokes when he says along as Ortiz wins he can call himself anything he wants. The two men are introduced as they start off the show.

Ricardo Ortiz VS Tyler Reks

Ortiz, fresh with a new gimmick and a new look, dominated the early going in this match-up, showcasing a more vicious side then his previous WWE run. Ortiz dominated much of the match but gets caught sleeping by a Reks’ springboard dropkick for the sudden pin. Reks, the goofy surfer dude, gives Ortiz a “Hang Ten’ sign, while Ortiz stares him down. Ortiz finally shoves Reks to the mat instead and is ready to beat on him when music hits.

An old face, Armando Alejandro Estrada appears to the surprise of the crowd. He puts down the fans in Orlando as he talks up the newest Smackdown superstar. He reintroduces Umaga to the WWE Universe as the Samoan Bulldozer makes his way to the ring. Ricardo Ortiz quickly exits through the crowd as the brave but stupid, Tyler Reks stays to fight. Umaga takes the blows from Reks and shrugs him off as he then catches Reks coming off the ropes with a Samoan Backdrop. Umaga then hit’s the Samoan Spike and Reks is laid out in the middle of the ring. Estrada puts over Umaga’s return as does Todd Grisham and Al Snow on commentary before another commercial break.

Winner-Tyler Reks by pin fall after a springboard dropkick

We come back from break and we see Estarada and Umaga leaving the arena as they intimidate workers int the back on the way. They turn the corner and Umaga comes face to face with one of the newest, WWE Divas, Awesome Kong. Umaga yells at Kong, who yells back, Umaga then slaps himself across the chest as Kong mimics him again. Finally Estrade gets Umaga past Kong who continues her way to the ring.

Grisham and Snow talks about the intimidating Kong as a replay is shown of her actions Monday on RAW as she laid out the RAW Women’s Champion, Mickie James in the middle out of the ring after a title defense against Natayla. Kong’s music hits as she gets major heat from the audience and heads to ther ring as her opponents, ECW”S Daffney and RAW's ODB is already in the ring.
Quote:

Awesome Kong VS Daffney VS ODB

Three new WWE Divas, one from each show debut on WWE television next. Kong fresh off her beat down of RAW Women’s Champion, Mickie James on the past RAW continues her domination as she slams Daffney down for the squash win. She calmly kicks Daffney out of the ring as ODB tries a dropkick from behind after the match. Kong shakes it off and then connects with the Implant Buster on ODB. She orders the referee to count ODB out also as Kong disposes of both in record time.

Winner-Awesome Kong by pinfall on Daffney and then ODB

Todd Grisham calls Kong maybe the most dominant DIVA of all-time as Snow says she still has a lot to prove before he can put in that category. Video is shown then of Jim Cornette’s confrontation with the ECW Tag Team Champions, The Dudleys, this past Tuesday and his announcement of his newest tag team’s debut on WWE Superstars. Grisham and Snow act excited and say they can’t wait to see who is as we are shown Cornette live coming to the ring to join Snow and Grisham on commentary before we go to break.

Back from break, Cornette comes out and joins Todd Grisham and Al Snow on commentary as FCW students Ricky Reyes and Rocky Romero are already in the ring. The two is downplayed as local talent as they get their feet wet in the WWE style. Cornette praises his newest team as the next ECW Tag Team Champions and introduces them as Jamie Noble and Charlie Haas.

The two is downplayed as local talent as they get their feet wet in the WWE style. Cornette praises his newest team as the next ECW Tag Team Champions and introduces them as Jamie Noble and Charlie Haas.

Haas and Noble showcase great teamwork as it looks like they have partner for years. Al Snow points out on commentary Jim Cornette’s great track record in managing teams as Cornette says these two are better then anybody else he has ever had. Romero gets in a brief fury of offense before Haas gains control back with a belly to back suplex. Noble and Haas regain control as they hit the old Midnight Express’s finishing move “The Veg-O-Matic” for the win.

Winners- Jamie Noble and Charlie Haas by pinfall after Veg-O-Matic

Cornette quickly tears off his headset and enters the ring to celebrate the win with his team as paramedics rush out to check out Romero’s throat after the Noble leg drop off the top.

We go backstage as Larry Sweeney is with “The Big Red Machine” Kane. Kane talks about what he saw this week on RAW when the so-called “Monster” Abyss was introduced by Paul Heyman as a new member of the Smackdown roster. Kane says he knows who Abyss is and has been watching him for sometime, waiting for the chance to compete against him. Sweeney makes the mistake as saying that he thought Abyss reminded him of Kane when he started, Kane suddenly grabs the mic and starts yelling at Sweeney, that he will make sure Abyss never appears on Smacksdown ever. We go to the last commercial break.

We come back and Grisham and Snow recap the night’s events and tallk about the Kane interview and his promise to end Abyss here tonight. The crowd gives a decent pop to Abyss who comes out in usual attire. The crowd then gives heat to Kane as the WarZone turns red and Kane’s make his slow, intimidating entrance to the ring but all the hoopla seems to have no effect on Abyss, who looks focused on the task at hand.

Quote:
Kane VS Abyss

The two monsters square off as Kane asked for this match after hearing the stories of “The Monster” Abyss. After their two eerie entrances the two giants exchanged in a test of power as neither man budged. The match went back and forth without any man gaining any control as they seemed evenly matches throughout the match. Kane seemed stumped as Abyss was able to take anything he could dish out and the same was said about Abyss towards Kane. Finally Kane garnered control after a ramming Abyss into the steel ring steps. He then connected with a slam and climbed up to the top and hit the clothesline. He signaled for the choke slam with a women appeared down the ramp. The crowd was mystified as it became evident that it was retired WWE Diva, Lita. She stood in between Kane and Abyss, stopping Kane from following through. The crowd cheered for Kane to send Lita crashing to the mat instead and finally Kane appeased the fan as he wrapped his hand around her neck. Lita started pleading and yelling at Kane to stop, screaming that , “He didn’t know what he was doing.”. Kane smiled and looked ready to continue when Lita blurted out that “Abyss was really Kane’s brother.” Kane dropped Lita as he stared at the now recovered Abyss, who stared in disbelief himself back at the “Red Machine”. Lita rolls to safety on the outside as the two giants stared each other down. Finally Kane flipped over the top and walked up the ramp backwards staring at Abyss in the ring and the mysterious, Lita who continues shouting her claim to both men. “That they are really brothers.”

Winner-No Contest

Al Snow and Todd Grisham talks about the turn of events that just happened and questions Lita's motives and the truth to her claim of Kane and Abyss really being brothers as “WWE Superstars” goes off the air.
