Before "Bound for Glory", Total Nonstop Action found themselves at a crossroads. Even though they have attracted big-name stars they haven't been more successful in ratings or pay per view buys. TNA parent company, Panda Energy, was growing concerned over their investment and gave Dixie Carter an ultimatium to turn the company around in 6 months or they were going to sell the company to an interested party (rumored to be Vince McMahon). Facing the challenge, Dixie decided she was going to do whatever it takes to prove herself to her parents. She made up her mind that she would become an on-air personality. She showed up at "Bound for Glory" and re-started the TNA Championship Match between World Champion, Kurt Angle and challenger, Bobby Lashley after inteference from the Main Event Mafia. allowed Angle to retain.After the restart, Lashley defeated Angle for the championship and celebrated with Carter in the ring. Earlier in the night, the Main Event Mafia, suffered major losses as Booker T and Scott Steiner lost the TNA World Tag Team Titles to Team 3D, Kevin Nash lost the TNA Legend's Championship to Sting but Samoa Joe retained the X-Division Title over AJ Styles, thanks to misguided help from Jeff Jarrett. Even though, the Main Event Mafia lost much of their control in TNA at Bound for Glory, Kurt Angle ended the broadcast vowing that "IT WASN"T OVER!!!"
