WWE: The Takeover

This is non-canon to current WWE, just my little side project to kill my boredom.

First and foremost, you have Raw and SmackDown, two separate entities. Raw is run by Shane McMahon, while SmackDown is run by Theodore Long. Raw is on Mondays, while Smackdown is on Fridays. Raw has the WWE, United States, Divas, and World Tag Team championships. Conversely, Smackdown has the World Heavyweight, Intercontinental, Women's, and WWE Tag Team championships. In addition to these two, you have Superstars, a one hour show on Wednesday comprised of inter-promotional matches, and Saturday Night's Main event, a two hour extension of Raw and Smackdown, with each brand getting an hour each.

Raw Recap

Emanating from the St. Pete Times Forum in Tampa, FL, Raw saw yet another action-packed show this week. The United States title changed hands in an incredible Fatal Four Way match between Jack Swagger, Carlito, MVP, and the high-flying champion Evan Bourne. Carlito was flattened by an MVP Player's Boot early in the match, but eventually rallied to hit his finisher, the Backstabber, on the unsuspecting Evan Bourne for the win.

At the top of the broadcast, Randy Orton came out and informed the Floridian fans that he would not be performing tonight, simply because he didn't want to. Shane McMahon begged to differ. He told Randy Orton that if he didn't compete tonight, he'd be out of a job. So, naturally, the Legend Killer obliged. Little did he know that his opponent would be his long time nemesis, John Cena!

The unlikely duo of Batista and Christian joined forces for the first time ever to take on the rather large team of Mark Henry and Vladimir Kozlov. Early on, Christian's speed and agility proved too much for his opponents. But when Christian tried to tag his partner in to seal the deal, The Animal left him high and dry. Needless to say, Henry and Kozlov picked up the win.

In Divas tag action, the team of Beth Phoenix and Gail Kim defeated Kelly Kelly and Mickie James. The two winners will face off on Raw next week to determine the number one contender for Maryse's Divas Championship. This match will be held at Unforgiven.

CM Punk was the guest on the Abraham Washington show this week. He told the fans that he was ridding the world of a "sideshow" by attacking Rey Mysterio on Superstars last Wednesday. He said that since he is the only straight edge world champion in history, he should have free reign to do what he pleases.

Our main event saw Randy Orton take on John Cena. This was a hotly contested back and forth affair, with both men giving it their all. Orton came out of nowhere with an RKO, and thought he had the match won, but Cena's fighting spirit enabled him to kick out. Orton, frustrated, tried to go for another RKO, but Cena countered it into an STFU. Orton eventually reached the ropes. After both men jockeyed for position, Cena went for the FU. Orton countered it into an RKO to pick up the win.

We thought that the show was over, but then the lights went out. We then heard a voice, a familiar voice, ask us "Are You Ready?" ? It was Triple H! The lights turned back on and The King of Kings was seen behind Orton. He then gave the signature chop, and proceeded to Pedigree Orton. This was revenge for the attack on DX after their match vs. Priceless on Saturday Night's Main Event.

What will happen on Raw next week? Tune into USA at 9/8 central to find out!

Re: WWE: The Takeover

i agree- always helps to have a clear starting point, otherwise we're left a bit confused. But from what i can gather from your 'in the past' some interesting things have happened.

Chris Jericho-Orton forming a tag team is a good idea, I like both their current styles, and i feel they cou;d mesh quite well together. Does this mean Legacy is non-existent? Or just dispersed? Confusing a lil, even if it is non-canon.

A heel Batiista is something the WWE has needed for a while, the closest i think we came was in the feud with Undertaker 2 years ago, but alas no. Still a feud with Christian will build him up nicely to the main event picture if your aiming that way.

I'll be reading to see how this all forms out- gd luck

Re: WWE: The Takeover

For anyone looking for some backstory:

There is no Legacy, only Priceless. Save_Us_RKO formed because Chris Jericho was feuding with Shawn Michaels on SmackDown, and Randy Orton was feuding with HHH on Raw.

Superstars Recap

To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 20 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.

This week on WWE Superstars, there were 3 matches for your viewing pleasure. A Divas Match, a tag team match, and a main event singles match.

Natayla took on Maryse in Divas action. For a good portion of the match, Maryse showed a surprising mat repertoire, even locking the second-generation Diva in a Fujiwara armbar. The Divas champion made a fatal mistake when she missed a clothesline, allowing Natalya to hit a picture perfect german suplex bridge pin for the win.

Perhaps the strangest team in WWE history, Santino Marella and Goldust had a daunting task at hand when they took on The Hart Dynasty. Goldust was cornered by his opponents, but he eventually tagged in Marella, and he was able to win the match. Time will only tell how this affects the World Tag Team Title picture on Raw.

The main event was contested between the World Heavyweight Champion, Jeff Hardy, and the Animal, Batista. Hardy put up a valiant effort, using his unorthodox style to baffle the big man. But he perhaps went for one risk too many, as he missed the Swanton Bomb. Batista capitolized, and hit the Batista Bomb to pick up the W.

More interpromotional action to come next Wednesday on WWE Superstars, on WGN America, at 8/7 central.

At the beginning of the show, a video started to play on the dual screens in the arena.

After the video was over, Edge came out to a chorus of boos. He stated that he was the best thing to ever happen to this company, and that everyone else was taking his TV time. He said that even though he was facing the Undertaker for the right to be number one contender, he was the most confident that he'd ever been.

After the Rated R Superstar left the ring, the Tag Team title tournament got underway. The first match was Brian Kendrick and Ezekiel Jackson vs. Cryme Tyme. Kendrick was on fire early on, hitting high impact moves on both JTG and Shad. However, when he tagged in his partner, Ezekiel Jackson, the pace slowed down, giving Cryme Tyme a limited window of opportunity. Shad had Kendrick up for the G9, but he did not see that Ezekiel tagged himself into the match. Kendrick took the move, and Shad left the ring to celebrate. After the referee informed JTG that Kendrick was not the legal man, Jackson chokeslammed him to pick up the win.

R-Truth was set to take on Dolph Ziggler for the Intercontinental title, but right after R-Truth finished his weekly rap, Ziggler viciously attacked him. The match never got the chance to occur.

The other match in the tag team tournament saw Kennedy and Finlay defeat Kane and Big Show to move on to Unforgiven, where they will face Kendrick and Jackson for the vacated titles.

Theodore Long informed the fans that the Women's championship would be de-vacated in an over the top rope battle royal at Unforgiven.

John Morrison was Chris Jericho's guest on the Highlight Reel. Jericho told him that he took a shortcut to get his title shot, and that honest men like him had to earn it. Morrison told Jericho that nothing was easy about him getting to where he was, and it involved a lot of sacrifice. Jericho then proceeded to slap the Shaman in his face! This led to a brawl between the two that spilled all the way to the backstage area.

After that snafu, Morrison had to defend his Money in the Bank briefcase against Shawn Michaels. As Michaels was walking down the ramp, he was hit by a chair by Chris Jericho! This match was declared a no contest, and Morrison kept his briefcase.

It was then time for the main event, Edge vs. The Undertaker in a number one contender's match. Jeff Hardy came out for commentary before the match. This was a match of many momentum swings, each man having the upper hand for a short amount of time. It became clear that someone would have to make a mistake to lose. The Undertaker made this mistake, on account of Jeff Hardy approaching the ring, and inadvertently distracting the ref. Edge hit a low blow on the Deadman, and then connected with a Spear to become the number one contender. The show ended with a Edge/Hardy staredown.

Saturday Night's Main Event Recap

To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 20 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.

The show opened with Shane McMahon standing in the ring. He informed us that since CM Punk did not have an opponent for Unforgiven, he'd be making the match a Championship Scramble. There would be four qualifying matches to determine the competitors.

The Raw Hour

The first qualifying match was Batista vs. Christian. Batista used his power as an advantage early into the match, but then Captain Charisma began to rally. The action spilled to the outside. The two competitors were so focused on fighting each other that the match ended in a double countout.

Shane McMahon said that the two would face off at Unforgiven in a Street Fight to settle their differences. He also said that he would find someone to be in the Scramble because of the match we just saw.

The next qualifier was Evan Bourne vs. Carlito. This match was also for the United States championship. Both men used their high flying prowess to attempt to emerge the victor. But in the end, Carlito retained the title, and put himself in the Scramble.

The third qualifying bout saw Jack Swagger and MVP lock up. Swagger suprisingly won easily. MVP looked sluggish and lethargic in the ring, and it was obvious that he wasn't 100%.

The final qualifier was John Cena vs. Vladimir Kozlov. The Russian imposed his will on the smaller Cena, dominating him for most of the match. Every time Cena tried to battle back, Kozlov was one step ahead of him. Kozlov went for his finisher, the chokeslam, but Cena blocked it. He then hit the big man with a Throwback. Cena got the 5 Knuckle Shuffle to connect, and then amazingly put Kozlov down with the FU to win.

Shane McMahon then congratulated all of the winners for their efforts. He said that there was one order of buisiness left to take care of in the Scramble, and that was naming the last entrant. He then told the guys in the production truck to play that man's music. Here Comes The Money began to play, and the fans knew that Raw's GM may potentially be it's champion come Unforgiven.

Thedore Long appeared on the TitanTron and informed the fans that "The charade was over, and now a real wrestling program could have it's moment."

The SmackDown Hour

Dolph Ziggler was forced to take on R-Truth for the Intercontinental title. He was told that if he tried to do anything before the bell rang, he'd be stripped of his title. Ever the crafty one, Ziggler waited for the bell to ring and then attacked the referree. He found a way to keep his title and not have to compete, much to the dismay of our fans.

Theodore Long was angered by this display. He informed the champion that he would be facing R-Truth, Mike Knox, and the Big Show for the Intercontinental title at Unforgiven. And just incase he tried anything shifty, the match would be made a No DQ match!

In singles competition, Kane faced Ken Kennedy. Kennedy had no answer for the sheer power of the Big Red Machine, and he lost the match.

SmackDown's main event was The Hardys and John Morrison vs. Edge and The Hart Dynasty. The Canadians looked strong in the beginning, working over Matt Hardy and John Morrison, strategically disallowing the World Champion to enter the match. Edge tried to go for a Spear on Matt Hardy, but he missed. On the rebound, he hit Edge with the Side Effect! Matt eventually got the strength to be able to tag in his brother, and the pace quickened. Edge tagged in David Hart Smith, who recieved the Twist of Fate! Morrison and Hardy took out Kidd and Edge, setting up Hardy to hit the Swanton and pick up the win. The show ended with the victorious team celebrating in the ring.
