Kane def. The Great Khali via DQ when Ranjin Singh hit Kane with a chair. Afterwards, Khali and Kane had an all out brawl which resulted in Khali being thrown off the Summerslam stage through a stack of tables.

The fallout from Summerslam begins on Friday night as a blockbuster announcement is set and will be announced by none other than the chairman of the board, Mr Vince McMahon!

How will Jeff Hardy react to losing the World Heavyweight Championship in what was considered his speciality match, to CM Punk? The Straight Edge Superstar has claimed his 3rd World Heavyweight Championship and will now be looking to rid the WWE of Jeff Hardy.

JR: Good evening ladies and gentlemen and welcome to Friday night Smackdown! We are just days removed from what was an incredible night at Summerslam. Titles changed hands and rivalries intensified and just what is going to happen tonight??
<o></o>Todd: Well JR, tonight we have a blockbuster announcement from our very own Chairman, Mr McMahon and also, we will hear from our new World Heavyweight Champion, CM Punk.

The fans begin to boo loudly as the Chairman Vince McMahon makes his way out to ringside.

JR: Well looks like we aren’t going to have to wait to hear what this blockbuster announcement is.

Vince: Welcome ladies and gentlemen. Tonight I’ve come here to Smackdown as i want to get a few things off my chest but i also want to shake things up around here.
First on my list, I’d like to invite Teddy Long to come out.

Teddy makes his way out to a slightly better reception.

Todd: I don’t like the looks of this JR.

Teddy: Good evening Mr McMahon, Playa.

Vince: Teddy, I’ve asked you out here tonight as there is some business i’d like to discuss with you. Teddy, you remember a little while back when i asked you to improve the quality of Smackdown?

Teddy: I remember playa.
<o></o>
Vince: And do you remember what i said if things didn’t improve?

Teddy: I remember. *Teddy now bows his head*

Vince: Well Teddy, tonight is not your night as I’ve been keeping an eye on Smackdown and i’m not impressed and Teddy because i’m not impressed, i’m putting that directly down to the way Smackdown is run and that’s why Teddy, I’ve come here tonight to say YOUR FIIIIRRRRRRRREEEEEEEEDDDDDDDDDDD!

Teddy accepts his fate and before leaving, shakes the hand of Vince.

Vince: With that out of the way, i’d like to also announce that due to me wanting to fire Teddy, the WWE Board made a compromise and said there would have to be a general manager of their choosing in charge and with that they have appointed someone who i am not whole heartedly pleased to be running this show.
With that in mind, let me now introduce the new general manager of Smackdown.

~Glass Shatters~

The fans erupt as The Texas Rattlesnake heads out into the arena.

JR: STONE COLD STONE COLD!!!!

Stone Cold has now come face to face with Vince however instead of a clash between the two, Austin and Vince shake hands. Vince then exits the ring as Stone Cold begins to speak.
<o></o>

Austin: Stone Cold is the new sheriff now on Smackdown and that means there are going to be a few changes. First of all, I’ve been given full control over the roster to make any changes i see fit and after the show has finished tonight, there will be ins and there will be outs, however, i have been granted permission to announce signing early and i shall do so at the end of the evening.
Second, whatever i say goes and that is the law, if there is any decision or situation i am not happy with, i will have no hesitation in busting out a can of whoop ass to anyone who decides to cross with Stone Cold.
And finally, i have worked out a deal which will now have the Undisputed Tag Team Championships become direct property of Smackdown until a team from another show gains them and i have also worked out a deal which will bring back the high octane of the cruiserweight division back to Smackdown and also reintroduce the Cruiserweight championship.

And that’s the bottom line, because Stone Cold said so!

Stone Cold then calls for a few beers and drinks them before heading backstage to his office.

We return from the commercial break and go into the first match of the evening.

Match 1 – Tag Team Match

Cryme Tyme vs. The Hart Dynasty
<o></o>
Before the match begins, Justin Roberts announces that the match has been made into a number one contenders match for the Unified Tag Team Championship.
<o></o>
The match starts in the normal way, few waistlocks and wristlocks before the bigger Shad gets the advantage over Tyson. Shad continues to use his clear strength advantage while Tyson tries to use his speed but is caught as Cryme Tyme go on the offensive.
Very good back and forth match which looks to be going the way of Cryme Tyme when Natalya interferes by jumping up onto the apron and distracts the referee. As Natalya is distracting the ref, Tyson slides something to David Hart who clocks JTG in the face with the object before picking him up and hitting a running powerslam and pins JTG.

Winners and new number one contenders, The Hart Dynasty.
<o></o>
The Harts celebrate in the ring but not for long as Jericho and Show make their way out to the ring. Jericho and Show dominate all in the ring as Show double chokeslams Tyson and JTG while Jericho hits a code breaker on Shad and then locks in the Walls of Jericho on David Hart.
Referee’s are flooding the ring now and are attempting to break up the brawl. Jericho lets go of DH while Show leaves along with his partner as the referee’s check on the fallen.

~Commercial Break~

We return to a small interview room and Edge on screen.

JR: Welcome back ladies and gentlemen, right now we are going to get an injury update on Edge from the man himself.
<o></o>
Edge, how is the injury progressing?
<o></o>
Edge: Well JR, its going better than expected, the doctors have said i’m free to return to training and that i should be able to get back into the ring once i feel comfortable and ready.
<o></o>
JR: And do you have any words for Chris Jericho??
<o></o>
Edge: All i have to say is that Jericho and his goon Show had better watch themselves, i can and will strike at any time, the rated r superstar is close to his return.
<o></o>

The screen goes blank as the cameras cut back into the arena for match number 2.
<o></o>

Match 2 – Four Way Elimination Match
<o></o>
Kung Fu Naki vs. Mike Knox vs. Kane vs. R-Truth
<o></o>
Complete mismatch to begin this, the two bigger men decide to take on the two smaller men first as Kane sends Naki out of the ring while Knox backs R-Truth into the corner. Knox is just laying into R-Truth while Kane is throwing Naki around on the outside for fun.
In the ring, R-Truth is now on wobbly legs as Knox hits the Knox Out on R-Truth and pins him to eliminate him.

Eliminated: R-Truth
<o></o>
Knox has a small celebration in the ring but it doesn’t last long as Kane throws Naki under the bottom rope and joins him in the ring.
Naki at this point is completely oblivious to what is going on around him which helps Kane chokeslam him for the pin.

Eliminated: Kung Fu Naki
<o></o>
It’s now down to the two big man mountains. A stiff encounter occurs between the two as both land big fists to his opponent with Knox getting the advantage and backs Kane to the ropes. Knox whips Kane off the ropes but Kane ducks the attempted clothesline and grabs Knox by the throat and signals for a chokeslam however it’s blocked by Knox who bounces off the ropes and attempts a crossbody but before he can leave his feet, he’s met with a big boot to the face.
Kane then signals for the end and manages to pick Knox up and deliver the tombstone. Kane then pins and gets the win.

Winner: Kane

Kane celebrates in the ring in the normal way by setting off the pyro in the corners but before he leaves, he signals around his waist as if to indicate he wants gold.

We return to Smackdown and are now backstage with Matt Hardy.

Matt: Jeff, I’ve asked for this time to say how sorry i am for costing you the World Heavyweight Championship at Summerslam. I should have stayed far away from the ring but i saw you in trouble and wanted to help out my brother but that backfired.
I will though do everything in my power to help you regain your title just as soon as you return as i know you had some travel problems tonight which is why you aren’t here.
CM Punk, i also wanted this time to issue you a challenge for next week, me and you one on one and if i’m to win then Jeff gets another shot at the title, I’ll await your response.

Matt then leaves the backstage area as he is ready for his match.

Match 3 – Singles Match

John Morrison vs. Matt Hardy

Before the match even begins, the New World Heavyweight Champion, CM Punk makes his way out to a chorus of boos.
Punk enters the ring and asks for a mic.

Punk: Ladies and Gentlemen, i am once again your World Heavyweight Champion proving that a Straight Edge lifestyle will overcome one filled with debauchery and lust time and time again. CM Punk is a man you all should aspire to be like, i mean all you have to do is look at my career and see how much of a success following a straight edge lifestyle can do for you.
I’ve won countless championships and fans all over the world because of my persistence to steer clear of drink, drugs and many other vices, unlike Jeff Hardy.
Tonight, Jeff couldn’t make it here as he has had some travel problems however i got word before i came here tonight and his apparent travel problems are slightly more serious. You see, your idol is currently locked up in a jail cell after a tip off to the police that Jeff was travelling in his car with shall we say some illegal substances in his car.
Now I’ll admit this now, it was 100% not me that tipped off the police as i wou...............

Punk is cut off by Matt Hardy who rushes to the ring and attempts to take out the World Heavyweight Champion but Punk is quick to react and slides out the ring as Hardy is restrained by a referee. Morrison then makes his entrance and the match begins.

Both men are having trouble keeping focused on the match as Punk has now grabbed a chair and is sitting at ringside watching the action unfold.
Hardy is now gaining the upper hand on Morrison and has come close to the win but hasn’t yet managed to put Morrison away.
Matt finally looks to be putting Morrison out for the count as he hits the Twist Of Fate, however, CM Punk has risen from his chair and is now in the ring as the ref begins his count.
Punk nails Matt with the chair which instantly calls for the bell. Punk has now got Hardy up and delivers the GTS to Hardy.

Winner: John Morrison by DQ

Morrison, not happy with the way he won, confronts Punk but is met with a swift kick to the head and then Punk follows up with another GTS. Once again Punk has a mic in hand.

Punk: Matt, i accept your challenge for next week however i’m adding a little stipulation, if i defeat you next week, neither you nor your brother will get a shot at my heavyweight title whilst i am champion.

Punk drops the mic before holding the Heavyweight belt high above his head.

We return from the break to ringside and JR and Todd Grisham.

JR: Well folks, it’s been a night full of surprises and we’ve still got our main event left which will be the new Intercontinental Champion Dolph Ziggler and his partner and new World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk going up against Rey Mysterio and a mystery partner who we have been told is one of the new signings by our new general manager, Stone Cold.

Todd: Certainly has been a night full of twists and turns and what is going to go down next week when Matt Hardy squares off against CM Punk and will we find out what Kane was motioning after his match tonight?

JR: I’m not sure Todd but i’m certainly excited to see next week’s show. Now, let us get set for our main event!

Main Event

Intercontinental Champion Dolph Ziggler w/Maria & World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk vs. Rey Mysterio & ???

Three of the four in this match have been introduced to the audience when Stone Cold makes his 2<sup>nd</sup> visit of the night.
<o></o>
Austin: Tonight i promised you all a new signing for Smackdown and i’m sure this will be as exciting to you as it was to me when he inked the contract. Ladies and Gentlemen, let me introduce.........

The fans explode as The Heartbreak Kid, Shawn Michaels makes his way out.

JR: MY GAWD, SHAWN MICHAELS IS HERE ON SMACKDOWN!
<o></o>
Todd: Stone Cold certainly has delivered on his first night!
<o></o>

Michaels joins Mysterio in the ring as they look across at their opponents.
<o></o>
The match begins with Mysterio taking on Punk. The two jostle and its Mysterio who gains a small advantage by using his quickness to evade and embarrass Punk. Punk does not like this and manages to get Mysterio into his corner where Punk distracts the ref whilst Ziggler lands a few shots to Mysterio. Punk grounds Mysterio by working away on one of Mysterio’s legs which is visibly making Mysterio grimace in pain.
Punk now lands a few kicks to Rey’s leg as Rey struggles to get over to his corner and tag in Michaels. Every time Rey gets close to his corner, Punk drags him back and works some more to try and incapacitate the leg further.
Punk however is now acting with a little more cockiness and is making quick tags with Ziggler while mocking Rey.
The end of the match comes as Mysterio finally makes it to his corner after many failed attempts and tags in the showstopper. Michaels tees off on both Punk and Ziggler before hitting a few trademark moves like the flying forearm and the top rope elbow on Ziggler.
Michaels begins to warm the band but Maria grabs Michaels leg long enough to distract him. Ziggler sees this as his opportunity and attempts the jumping Russian leg sweep however Michaels is able to reverse and hits the Sweet Chin Music which knocks Ziggler onto the ropes. Mysterio is now back in the ring and calls for the 619 but as Mysterio swings on the ropes, Punk hits Mysterio in the leg with the World Heavyweight Championship. Michaels reaches through the ropes to try and grab Punk but Punk turns around and nails Michaels in the head with the belt as the ref is still busy with Maria.
Ziggler then rolls up Michaels as the ref turns back around and counts the pin.

Winners: Ziggler & Punk

The fans are booing loudly as Punk and Ziggler quickly leave the ring as Michaels tends to Mysterio.
Ziggler and Punk are both holding their belts up high and don’t notice Stone Cold come up behind them. Punk is the first to bump into Austin and turns around and a look of fear comes over his face.

Austin: Well Punk, congratulations, you managed to win with some of the worst cheating I’ve ever seen and as i said earlier in the night, i am the new law around here and what i say goes.
For tonight, you can have your little victory however next week when you face Matt Hardy, there is going to be a stipulation of my own as you see you aren’t the only one who can do that around here.
My stipulation will be that next week’s match will be a lumberjack match but not any normal lumberjack match as inside the ring there will be a special guest referee and that man will be our newest star on Smackdown, Shawn Michaels.
And that’s the bottom line, because Stone Cold said so!

Punk is now livid and argues with Austin as in the ring, Michaels has a wide smile across his face.

WWE.COM Breaking News!!

Just moments after the very first Smackdown with its new General Manager, Stone Cold, the full roster has now been released.
Some major names from various locations around the world have been signed by General Manager Austin including some returns to the Smackdown brand.
Stone Cold has set out to have the best wrestling show on TV and his roster is certainly a statement of intent.

I really enjoyed your first show and even though I am not a big fan of Austin, at least you didnt have him Stunning everybody like he usually does. A really strong first show and i'm looking forward to Matt vs Punk.
