SOULED OUT 2001
Live From: Madison Square Garden
00:00-00:03 - An opening tape plays showing the last month of action from Monday Night Nitro, and build up of a number of matches paying particular attention to Degeneration-X, the New World Order and current World Champion Sting before finally cutting to the commentary team ahead of the shows opening contest.
00:03-00:18 - Diamond Dallas Page vs. Mystery Opponent
“You know Tony with minutes to go until the opening contest, I have a strong feeling that Souled Out is going to kick start this year with a bang. The real question now though, is who will Dallas Page's mystery opponent be in a match that could see him be forced to retire.” - Mike Tenay
“All though I regrettably say this, I would very much confirm that this is going to be the last match of his career because knowing the likes of the McMahon I am sure Shane has set all of this up in such a way that things will pan out in just the way he wants it resulting in DDP forced to retire live on pay per view.” - Tony Schiavone
“Well whether this is Dallas' last match or not, the real question is who is the mystery opponent going to be.” - Mike Tenay
During the time that Tenay and Schiavone were building up the match, Dallas Page had made his way out from the back and was being given a massive reception from the fans who clearly didn't want to see him go anytime soon. Despite the massive amount of support that DDP is getting it is clear that he is still concerned about who exactly he is going to be pitted up against. As the lights went dark, and a question mark starting flashing up on the tinatron a piece of theme music started to play that everyone instantly recognized including Dallas Page.
The man in question was none other than Tazz who walked out from the back, with the towel resting over head and looking as mean as ever. He was given a mixed reaction, as many loyalist still saw him as an outsider considering his ECW roots. It wasn't too long before Tazz reached the ring as both men were given a quick word from the referee both the bell was rung.
“Ding Ding.”
Tazz seemed very much to have the starting advantage that largely went down to the fact the he was ten years younger that Dallas. This was really noticed in the fact that Tazz looked lot faster and agile on his feet than his opposing man. Tazz managed to really send home as message as he smashes Page in the chest with a number of shots that really seemed to knock the air out the big man, and slightly throw him off his A-Game. However, Dallas didn't take too long to regain some composure and used his comparatively much larger size to knock Tazz to the mat with a Discus Clothesline!
To a less man the clothesline variation would most likely have grounded them a lot longer, but Tazz didn't take too long to shake off the cobwebs and just look right back at Dallas Page with sinister looking eyes. Both men approached each other dead centre, as Page went fro the lock-up however it was clear that Tazz had other ideas as he just grabbed hold of Page's waist and threw him over with a Overhead Underhook Suplex! Dallas landed on the canvass, but managed to get back up still looking wobbly as he walked in Tazz's clutches only to be sent to the mat once more this time german suplex.
“You know that Tazz really is a technical expert when it comes to suplexes. Did you know that he uses eleven variations of the move which says a lot about him considering that he is more feared for his abilities as a submission fighter. If I had to put down any money on this fight, I would say Tazz is going to win by submission.” - Tony Schiavone
Dallas nurses himself, as he clearly didn't enjoy being treated in such a fashion. In many ways it is his reality check of how much of a possibility he could be forced to retire live on pay per view. Dallas Page showed his clear intentions as he charges straight at Tazz, and knocked him solidly to the mat with a shoulder barge. Tazz was quick onto his feet though a connected a solid blow smash to Page, but further damage was averted as Page brought Tazz to the mat once more with an inverted neckbreaker. Tazz felt the blow of the move, but seemed to show a lot of resilience as he rolled back onto his feet before Dallas Page could follow up and bring about any long-term damage. As both men were on there feet, Tazz did attempt a lariat but instead got thrown over with hip toss.
“Both men are putting one hell of an opening contest, and it just makes you wonder. Would WCW be better off if Diamond Dallas Page was removed from the picture forever. I mean he is a great asset to this company.” - Mike Tenay
“At the end of the day, the law of the land has been laid down. If Page wants to know what its like to wrestle for World Championship Wrestling he is going to have to leave tonight with the win to his name.” - Tony Schiavone
Both men meet dead centre once more, and this team Dallas Page tries to send Tazz over onto his back with a russian leg sweep. Tazz doesn't have any of it however grabs hold of Dallas and throws him over with a belly-to-belly suplex. As Dallas sways back to his feet he is grabbed solidly from behind by Tazz who locks in the...
TAZMISSION
...as he slowly brings Page down to the mat, choking all of the life out of him as Dallas Page flaps his arms seeing is whole career disappear before his own eyes. Dallas seems to be really struggling, as Tazz keeps hold tightly off Page and is showing no signs of letting him go. To everyone shock however, including the referee the familiar figure of Mick Foley leaps over one of the security barriers and slides into the ring and charges at the referee picking him up and sending him to the mat with a powerslam. He then turns to both Tazz and Page, but before he can do anything the referee calls for the bell.
“Ding Ding Ding.”
Result: No Contest (due to interruption)
00:18-00:20 -Dallas Page lies on his back on the canvass, looking as if he may have passed out whilst in the Tazmission but this doesn't mean anything in the aftermath of the referee call to the end the match which arguably wasn't the right one. Before the match cuts backstage, a figure of Tazz can be seen leaning over the top ropes and pointing at a smiling Mick Foley with a look of nothing else but pure hatred.

00:20-00:23 - As we cut backstage, we find ourselves in the locker-room of Degeneration-X as X-Pac seems to be getting a pep talking prior to his up and coming match for the Cruiserweight Championship with Billy Kidman in a couple of minutes time. The person who is doing the majority of talking is non other than current DX leader Triple H.
“Sean now it is important that you don't think of this match, as DX vs. the nWo we don't need you getting distracted. The only thing that you need to be concerning yourself with is putting on the best performance of your life and leaving tonight with that championship belt around your waist.” - Triple H
Triple H pats X-Pac back just to reassure him slightly.
“You really think I have what it takes to win the belt?” - X-Pac
X-Pac a man that always seems full of confidence in the ring, but for some reason needed as much support as he could get outside it. Triple H looked around to the rest of the locker-room.
“Guys don't you think Sean has what it takes to be the Cruiserweight Champion?” - Triple H
“Oh yeah definitely.” - Billy Gunn
“Me and Billy the other day were just saying that your probably the greatest man ever to compete within the weight class.” Road Dogg
X-Pac smiled as he got up to his feet, clearly full pumped up and ready for tonight's match. He smiled as he looked at his DX team-mates.
“Thank guys I love the fact that your right behind me.” - X-Pac
X-Pac then opened the door, and left the room making his way towards the entry to the main arena. As the door shut as Triple H spoke once more.
“So I have Kip, BG, Paul, Ric and myself betting that Kidman is going to win and Chyna betting that Sean is going to win. Each bet $20. We either split the pot, or Chyna walks away $100 richer.” - Triple H

00:23-00:49 - WCW Cruiserweight Championship
Billy Kidman (c) vs. X-Pac
X-Pac has already begun his journey down the entrance ramp, as he seems to catch out and unaware commentary, who have yet to have started the build up of the match.
“You know what Tenay I have always been a fan of Sean Waltman, he has the agility and the in-ring ability that just makes you respect a man. The one thing that always stump me is what exactly am I meant to call him?” - Tony Schiavone
“Well when he left us previously to join the WWF, he changed his name to X-Pac. I think the distinction is that X-Pac is a Degeneration-X tag whilst Syxx is very much part of the New World Order. Its quite interesting that he has effectively been part of both sides in this war.” - Mike Tenay
“The real question I have been asking myself, is does Sean really have what it takes to beat a man like Kidman. Taking into account how good Kidman has been performing over the last month.” - Tony Schiavone
X-Pac finally reaches the ring, where he is met with a mixed reception from the fans. Clearly there are those that have sided with DX seeing them as the finally answer to ending the nWo long reign whilst there are the nWo and WCW faithful who just see anything that is DX as just another power tool that belongs to the WWF. X-Pac looks calm as he looks towards the back.
Suddenly, the music of the New World Order starts to play and out form the back with the Cruiserweight Title in his hand stand a very smug and confident looking Billy Kidman dressed from head to toe in black and white clearly showing his colours. He is met with a mixed reaction as well, although a lot more cheers can be heard than boos.
“You know what Kidman really does have what it takes I think to be one of the greatest competitors this weight class has seen. He very much has his eyes set on defeating every single member of the division, and if he adds X-Pac to the list not only will he remain on this streak but will be halfway to completing his goal.” - Mike Tenay
“I think the most important thing that he must do is retain the title belt. Looks like this match is all but ready to go.” - Tony Schiavone
“Ding Ding.”
As the bell is rung Kidman seems to say something to X-Pac which clearly gets under his skin as he slaps Kidman hard across the face. Kidman doesn't seem all to pleased to be treated like a bitch so gives X-Pac a slap of his own before leaping up and connecting with a standing drop kick. As X-Pac falls back to the rope Billy runs at X-Pac before suddenly him fully to the mat with a crossbody. However, in the roll up X-Pac ends up being on top of Kidman and punches in the stomach a number of times before being pushed off by Kidman as both men are allowed back up onto their feet.
Kidman runs to the ropes and springboards off them, as he knock X-Pac over with a spinning heel kick. X-Pac is quick up to his feet and as Kidman comes at him he keeps me back with a number of backhand chops with echoes that even people in the cheap seats can hear. With Kidman leaning up against the ropes, X-Pac takes him and irish whips him across the ropes. As Kidman comes rebounding back, X-Pac hits a perfectly time Super Kick to sent Kidman down onto his back.
“What a move of sheer excellence from X-Pac, surely that was a move that has broken the deadlock between these two men?” - Tony Schiavone
“I wouldn't make call like that just yet, the outcomes of this match is still very much in the balance.” - Mike Tenay
X-Pac doesn't let Kidman to get up of his own accord, and lifts him up with a suplex only to drop him back down belly first onto the ropes as Kidman is just left hanging over them at X-Pac's mercy. X-Pac looks towards the turnbuckle as he is met by a massive cheer from the fans as he slowly starts to climb up to them. He then leaps off as he connects right on top of the back of Kidman's neck with a brutal Diving Leg Drop! Kidman drops off the mat rolling around the floor in clear pain, but as X-Pac tries to stand up his leg buckles beneath him as he grabs hold of his leg struggling to get back onto his feet.
“I think X-Pac is in some really trouble here you know Mike, I think that leg caused more damage than it did good. The first man back on his feet will surely walk away with the belt.” - Tony Schiavone
X-Pac manages to get back up to his feet finally, although after having to use the ropes as support and seems to be limbing off his right leg. Kidman also gets up, and sees the damage as he runs towards X-Pac with a baseball slide taking the leg out and sending X-Pac right back down to the floor. Kidman then leaps onto the turnbuckle before launching himself on top of X-Pac with the...
SEVEN YEAR ITCH
...before lifting up X-Pac leg as he goes administers a leg lock which has him tapping within seconds.
“Ding Ding Ding.”
Winner: Billy Kidman (retains WCW Cruiserweight Championship)
00:49-00:50 - With X-Pac grounded and rolling around on the mat clutching his leg, Kidman was quick to grab hold of his Cruiserweight Title as he clambered up onto the turnbuckle showing it off to all the world as he wave the New World Order t-shirt he had been wearing prior to the match around the head in the same way you would a scarf in a post-match celebration.
- - - - - - -
00:50-00:55 - As the second match of the night is wrapped up, the camera follows Shawn Michaels the current WCW Commissioner into the locker-room of none other than current United States Champion Chris Benoit who seems quite happy to see the Heart Break Kid.
“You alright Shawn? Is there anything I can do for you?” - Chris Benoit
Shawn sat down against Benoit before answering.
“Well for the sake of WCW I think it is vital that you win tonight, but not only that but you try and pin someone who you think in the long-run might actually be willing to play ball? - Shawn Michaels
Benoit looked at Michaels with a look of confusion.
“What do you mean? You've totally lost me.” - Chris Benoit
“Well the priority is you coming home with the title in your name, but if you can bring someone over that is likely to play ball.” - Shawn Michaels
00:55-00:58 - ADVERTISEMENT BREAK
00:58-01:00 - As we return from the breaks Mark Jindrak is walking down the hall backstage in the direction of the ring, as backstage interviewer Lita starts walking fast alongside clearly trying to get some sort of scoop prior to the match but seems to have struggle keeping up with Jindrak.
“Mark...Mark can get your thoughts ahead of your big match tonight?” - Lita
Jindrak continues walking showing no intent of stopping, as Lita struggles as he gives a short response.
“This isn't the time for talking, this is the time for fighting.” - Mark Jindrak

01:00-01:17 - Handicap Tag Match
Mark Jindrak vs. Booker T & Goldberg
Booker T slowly makes his way from the back, and seems to be accompanied by Goldberg as both men seemed to be walking unison, almost as if they are on the same page rather than just going in for their own individual benefit.
“This is something I would have never expected in my entire life, Booker T and Goldberg walking out from the back together as if they actually were some sort of tag-team. I know this match is matter of pride for both men, but this is unheard of.” - Mike Tenay
“I think its like the saying goes Mike.” - Tony Schiavone
“What never trust a word Schiavone says?” - Mike Tenay
Goldberg and Booker T enter to the ring, and the fact that both men aren't that liked in terms of a fan favorite perspective means that neither men are paid that much attention as they enter the ring. It isn't Jindrak's music play that the crowd starting giving a shit, although Jindrak is given nothing but collective jeers and boos as he makes his way to the ring.
“I have to say I wasn't expecting this, I mean Jindrak is the voice of the people and all his actions are almost an answer to their please. They should love him and not hate him. These people are so ungrateful.” - Tony Schiavone
“Ding Ding.”
The match starts off with Goldberg going in first to the duo, whilst Jindrak is jumping on the spot clearly psyching himself up. Booker T stands behind the room, although pats Goldberg on the back as he point at Jindrak as he shouts something clearly aimed at Mark. Jindrak however shows how focused he really is as he charges at Goldberg and pushes him into Booker T who falls up the ring apron and smashes against the guard rail. Goldberg remains in the corner as Jindrak continues to throw in hard shoulders keeping Goldberg suppressed in the corner. Rather than saving himself though Goldberg is spared further punishment as Booker clambers back up and tags himself in.
Jindrak clearly has no idea that Booker T is the legal man, as he is knocked to the floor with a spinning wheel kick. As Jindrak drops to the mat Goldberg clearly isn't to wary of the situation either as he drops to mat and starts to pound Jindrak in the face. The referee is having none of it though, as he pulls Goldberg up. Turning his back as he tries to convince him to leave. Booker T drags Jindrak up as he lows blow him before running to the ropes and hitting the...
AXE KICK
...as Jindrak drops to the floor in heap. However, as Booker T goes for the cover and the crowd join in with the one, two, three the referee back in still turned as he is arguing with Goldberg. As Goldberg finally leaves the ring, the referee drops down but before anything serious takes place Jindrak manages to kick out.
“I guess proves it, cheaters never prosper.” - Mike Tenay
“The only thing that proves, is that Bill Goldberg is an absolute idiot.” - Tony Schiavone
Booker T starts shouting at Goldberg and is clearly irritated, and you can't blame him considering the situation he just found himself within. Although it is clear that Goldberg isn't taking all to kindly to the words being spoken. Jindrak seem to be going for a repeat performance, and Goldberg sees him coming as he jumps off the apron noticeably not warning Booker T, as Booker is sandwiched between the turnbuckle and Jindrak. As Booker T drops, Goldberg leans in his face and seems to say something before walking to the back.
“I guess this match just became a singles match, because Goldberg just left Booker for dead.” - Tony Schiavone
Booker T is dragged up off his feet, before being thrown to his back with a belly to back suplex. Jindrak then drops on top of Booker T and begins to repeatedly punch Booker in the face relentlessly with no sign of stopping as the referee runs over and calls the bell as he pull of Jindrak. As Booker T has his eyes rolled in the back of the head and seems to be knocked out.
Winner: Mark Jindrak

01:17-01:20 - Eric Bischoff seems to be giving Jeff Jarret a pre-match talk ahead of the match of the US Title, as the rest of the nWo seems to be watching in silence not wanting to interrupt Eric.
“Now you got to understand this Jeff, whatever you do make sure that you don't get pinned. You know that at the end of the day I can set-up a match for that will earn you a shot at the United States Championship but there it will be not acceptable if you find yourself being pinned or submitting in that cage. We can not lose you in this war remember that.” - Eric Bischoff

01:20-01:41 - Steel Cage Match
WCW United States Championship
Chris Benoit (c) vs. Triple H vs. Jeff Jarret
All three men are within the ring, as the referee takes the title of Benoit as he signals for the cage to be lowered. With effectively three different factions involved, nerves are certainly running high.
“This match has all the making for the match of the night, as you never know quite what is going to happen in a steel cage. With two men the carnage is normally brutal, but the fact that this is a triple threat match really takes this match to another level.” - Mike Tenay
“And not only is the US Title up for grabs, but we will see one man forced to change his aliments at the end of the match. Which in many ways may effect people decisions in terms of risk involved.” - Tony Schiavone
“Ding Ding.”
Triple H and Jarret go for each other straight away, both being the common enemy as Benoit back off slightly as both men exchange blows. Jarret somehow gets some room and knocks Triple H over with an ezuigiri, and it is at this moment that Benoit charges forward and knocks Jeff to the mat with a shoulder barge. Jarret is quick to his feet, but is only sent stepping backwards as he is met by a number of backhand chop from a clearly focused Benoit who has him up against the ropes. With both men pre-occupied Triple H takes his chance as he leaps up and its a unconventional drop kick as Benoit goes face first into the side of the cage. As Jarret stumbles out, he he takes by Triple H and hit with a Spinning Spinebuster!
“This match is already showing some star quality, and we have barely even started. This is definitely going to be one the matches that makes the PPV, and this only the fourth match out of seven.” - Mike Tenay
“Have you seen Benoit's face, the blood has already started to pour. There truly is no give when human flesh comes up against that unforgiving steel.” - Tony Schiavone
With Benoit still on the mat, and blood pouring from his head. Triple H is really starting to bring it to Jarret, who is trying desperately to defend himself and put a fight of his own. Jarret tries to get around the back of Hunter, but is only met by a sharp elbow as he given a facebreaker knee smash for his troubles. Hunter then grabs Jarret and irish whips him into the turnbuckle and follows him and throws him over with a neckbreaker. As Hunter turns around though he is taken down by a bloody face Benoit, only to be thrown over with a Slingshot Suplex!
“Benoit is right back in this match, although with all the blood he has lost you got to think that Hunter is still very much the major player in this one.” - Mike Tenay
As Benoit lifts up Triple H, Jeff is seen on top of the turnbuckle and leaps off with diving crossbody taking out both men below him. Jarret focuses his attention Triple, but once again seems unable to match up to Hunter physically as he is floored with a flowing DDT. Triple H then kicks Benoit roughly in the stomach as he walks to the side of the cage and start to climb up it.
“I guess Shawn Michaels forgot about a loophole. I am assuming that either, Triple H will just be leaving with the title or both Benoit and Jarret will have to join DX if he escapes the cage.” - Tony Schiavone
As Triple H starts to climb, Benoit gets back up to his feet but seems slightly disorientated and totally misses out on the fact that Hunter is climbing up the cage behind him getting closer and closer to the top. Jarret tries to push Benoit out of the way, but Benoit grabs hold of Jarret but is twisted and instead is sent too the mat via the...

...Benoit is struggling to fight the pain, but all eyes are on Triple H as he slowly starts to climb down clearly not wanting to jump off to high in the fear of injury himself. Triple H is nearly down when suddenly Benoit starts to tap as the referee calls for the bell.
“Ding Ding Ding.”
Winner: Jeff Jarret (new WCW United States Champion)
01:41-01:48 -Triple H drops down and looks more than annoyed with himself as he exits the arena via one of the fire exits as the whole New World Order starts to walk down the entrance ramp towards the ring, as the steel cage is slowly being lifted.
“I don't think anyone saw this coming, considering how dominant Triple H was during the entire match. Jeff Jarret is the new United States Champion and though I hate to say I would count the current score as 2-0 to the nWo.” - Mike Tenay
“Not to mention the fact, that Chris Benoit is now a member of the New World Order. Although what Eric Bischoff and the rest of the black and white army decided to do with him is another matter altogether.” - Tony Schiavone
As Jarret is handed his title he is hoisted into the air by both Kevin Nash and Scott Hall, as Billy Kidman stands next to Eric who has a microphone in his hands as he points to Steiner to lift Benoit up onto his feet.
“And so for the second time this even it has be proven that you just can't compare to the power and ability of the New World Order but it seems that we have found ourselves in a strange situation. Technically Chris Benoit is now a member of our group, but I need to know if he is fully committed before he can fully earns his wings and our trust and that is why I am putting this responsibility on your shoulders, Billy.” - Eric Bischoff
Kidman looks confused as he holds his Cruiserweight Title, as Eric continues to talk.
“I see that you Billy had a brain in that head of yours, but due to the fact that you are still very much new blood I think you should be honored with this role. Lets just say that the “B-Team” is back in action and I am entrusting you to lead it, and I need you to step up your game and Benoit so you can fully become a member of the black and white.” - Eric Bischoff
Billy nods looking pleased with himself, as Eric then points as the Outsiders pick up Benoit and help him backstage, as they are followed by a still celebrating Jarret and Kidman. Steiner remains in the ring, as Bischoff says one final word before leaving Steiner in the ring.
“Make sure you make him tap.” - Eric Bischoff

Steiner is already in the ring, having remained after Jarret's win and seems to be getting frustrated as there is no sign of Ric Flair anywhere.
“What is Flair up too, doesn't he know he has a match tonight?” - Mike Tenay
“Either he has forgotten which is unlike him or something serious has taken place that has led to him not being able to turn out, although from the sounds that the crowd is making it is clear that they aren't pleased at all.” - Tony Schiavone
The fans are getting more than agitated, and Steiner has a word with the referee nods as he ring the bell.

01:56-02:02 - Almost immediately the camera cut to the car park behind the scenes as APA members Bradshaw and Farooq are sitting on top of the trunk of the car looking as mean as ever. With a few moments footsteps are heard and the figure of Eric Bischoff holding a suitcase can be seen.
“So do you have it?” - Eric Bischoff
Farooq and Bradshaw exchange a looks, before Bradshaw stands up.
“We do but we want to see what you have brought us first, that as the deal remember.” - Bradshaw
Eric lifts up the briefcase and rests it onto the roof of the car as he hands over Bradshaw a few sheets of paper.
“This is a contract that guarantees the team that hands it in a shot at the World Tag Team Title at Super-Brawl next month. Good enough for you?” - Eric Bischoff
Bradshaw takes the paper and puts it back into the briefcase as he hands it over to Farooq.
“Oh this is more than adequate, it was a pleasure doing business with you Mr. Bischoff.” - Bradshaw
Bradshaw and Eric shake hand as both men smile.
“So is he in the trunk?” - Eric Bischoff
“Yeah just pop it and have a look if you want.” - Bradshaw
The APA walk off, as Eric slowly opens the drunk and has a quick look as the camera man is given sight of the contents for a split second and tied and gagged is plain and straight Ric Flair. Eric then closes the trunk, before climbing into the car and driving off.
“Oh My God! Eric Bischoff has Ric Flair hostage, that evil son of a bitch!” - Mike Tenay
Eric then drives out of the car park, as the scene fades with Triple H and X-Pac clearly seen running from behind the camera and chasing after car but just not quick enough to catch up.

02:02-02:19 - WCW World Tag Team Championships
The Outsiders (c) (Kevin Nash & Scott Hall) vs. The New Age Outlaws (Road Dogg & Billy Gunn)
The Outsiders slowly make their way to the ring, as they showboat to the crowd taking every opportunity to show of their tag team gold to the camera as much as they possibly can. Despite being major players in the New World Order and being infamous for their heel roles the Outsiders despite all this are massive fan favorites and are being given masses of support from the fans in attendance.
“Despite everything they stand for the Outsiders are one of the greatest tag-team currently active, and for the prestige of the belts I think it is more than important that they retain them despite my personal feeling towards them.” - Mike Tenay
“Would you care to share?” - Tony Schiavone
“Well both Hall and Nash have seriously inflated egos and think that they are the two most important people in World Championship Wrestling, not only that but they expect everything to be given to them on plate.” - Mike Tenay
The Outsiders finally enter the ring, as they turn to the back. The music of DX plays, but as the New Age Outlaws enter from the back, they are joined by Chyna, Triple H and X-Pac. As Triple H has a microphone in his hand as he begins to speak.
“You know what? I think the policy an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth would be most appropriate in this current situation. If you and the rest of the nWo are going to resort to cheap tactics and underhanded moves, then why shouldn't we follow suit and give you a taste of your own medicine. If you think you can just take Flair hostage and not getting something in return you are surely mistaken. The true begins now...CHARGE!” - Triple H
At the sound of Hunter words DX surge down to the ring and slide in as they go for an all out attack on the Outsiders in what is turning into a Five on two assault with DX beating the shit out the Outsiders not even allowing for them to get to their feet. “Never play with fire Eric, because all your are going to do is get burnt! And don't think your safe, because your next on your target list but we do have two words for you...SUCK IT!” - Triple H
The DX theme plays out, as the whole stable walk to the back, with the Tag Team Title now in their possession.
“This is great, without Eric thinking a real war has just started between DX and the New World Order. Before it was just a contest for position, but now they literally wants each others heads. This is great.” - Tony Schiavone

02:22-02:28 - In the aftermath of Ric Flair's abduction and the massacre of the Outsiders at hand of Degeneration-X X the camera cut backstage to the temporary office of Shane and Stephanie McMahon who are joined by current WCW Commissioner Shawn Michaels.
“I don't see how this could get any worse, this rivalry between both faction is putting all the attention on them and everyone is going to ignore the talent that is loyal to this company. Something is really going to have to change if we get back on track.” - Shane McMahon
“Do you have any idea Shawn?” - Stephanie McMahon
Both the McMahon siblings turn to look at Michaels who is wearing a stetson on his head, with a cigar in his mouth.
“You know we only have two options don't you. We either have to put out an ultimatum, in which only one side can the survive and other will be forced to be disbanded.” - Shawn Michaels
“And what is the other option?” - Stephanie McMahon
“We pick a side, and financially back them in the hope that they come out on top. This would only be a last resort though.” - Shawn Michaels
“Do you think you could put the first one into action?” - Shane McMahon
“No problem, come Super-Brawl either the New World Order or Degeneration-X will be buried six feet under, and that is a promise.” - Shawn Michaels

Sting (c) vs. The Big Show
“Well we are at the last match of the night, although hopefully we will see more wrestling than we have in our last two matches. With the likes of Sting and the Big Show involved I am sure that is highly likely.” - Mike Tenay
“And with the World Heavyweight Title on the line, both me are going to put everything they have into this match. It will be a case of 110%.” - Tony Schiavone
Degeneration-X Theme plays out, as the immovable object that is the Big Show exits from the back and slowly walks down the entrance ramp looking straight in front of him and ignoring the fans around him trying to get a hand on a man that could be the next world champion. The Big Show reaches the ring and climbs over the ropes as he stands in the middle of the ring looking towards the back.
“The Big Show is a man with a lot of potential Tenay, but to be honest I don't think he quite has what it takes to be a world champion.” - Tony Schiavone
Before Tenay can reply, the lights start to flash in the arena as the fans look up to the rafters as Sting is lowered to the ring with the World Heavyweight Title placed firmly around his waist. As he unbuckles himself from the cord, as he lifts up the belt above his head.
“Sting is certainly the favorite in tonight's match up but that doesn't mean that he is certified to leave as the winner.” - Mike Tenay
“Ding Ding.”
Sting removes his leather jacket as he puts it down in his corner as he walks around the ring, whilst the Big Show holds him ground and doesn't move a muscle. With it being evidently clear that both men wrestle in completely different way, the fans are in for an interesting match-up to say the very least. Sting pushes himself onto the ropes, and Big Show takes up a defensive position only for Sting to simply lean back into the ropes as smile at the fact that his feint seemed to worry the Big Show.
The Big Show doesn't seem to be to happy with what Sting just did, as both men walk up to each other and lock up. Big Show shows his superior strength though, as he squeezed Sting's hand before bringing him down hard to the mat with a Chokebomb! Sting feels the power of the move, but is quick to roll underneath the ropes as he regains himself showing the brain that has allowed himself to hold the World Title a number of times before. As the Big Show walks over, Sting leaps up onto the apron and pulls down on Big Show neck causing him to collide with the top rope and rebound in the backlash back to the mat.
“Sting is using his brain in this match, against someone who just uses brute force and power. The power of his brain might be the defining difference between these two men tonight.” - Mike Tenay
