Re: NWA - Gone Global

Rumors & News
March 31st, 2009 - January 6th, 2009

- Mukesh Ambani has been very pleased with the first week so far. He's stated that for the most thing have gone well.
- He is a bit concerned about the bulging roster, and wants to evaluate who he really needs.
- By the end of next week Ambani may cut the fat a bit. He realizes that there may be too many wrestlers on the roster currently. There are 60 current active wrestlers on the roster.
- Ambani did say however say depending on touring he might keep everyone he can due to possible injuries.
- Ambani likes Vince McMahon's three different brands. He did say three was out of the question, but two might have to happen for advanced touring.
- Ambani isn't happy with the current star power in NWA. He feels like they need more big time names to draw.
- Steve Austin who was signed, but then later reported to have signed with WWE has said to have had a major falling out with Vince. So again reports of his signing with WWE might too be false. Confusing much?

Rumored wrestlers in NWA's eyes

Matt Morgan

To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 20 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.

- Ambani likes Morgan's look, and rumors are Morgan isn't fully tied up with TNA

Tomko

To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 20 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.

- Ambani again likes Tomko's look, and is very high on him.

Wrestlers on the outs
The following wrestlers are said to be very close to being let go

Adam Pearce

To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 20 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.

- Ambani didn't particularly like his work so far. He also isn't high on his look

Brain Damage

To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 20 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.

- Similar to Pearce Ambani just doesn't like him.

Osamu Nishimura

To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 20 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.

- It's doubtful Nishimura will even debut in NWA. Al though a great technical wrestler that is about all he has to offer in Ambani's mind. The fact he's 37 also doesn't help his case.

Scorpio Sky

To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 20 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.

- Sky who a very quick wrestler doesn't seem to impress Ambani otherwise.

Davey Richards

To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 20 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.

- Ambani is generally bored with Richards. He has good speed, and is technically sound, but Ambani doesn't feel like he can do anything with him.

Zokre

To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 20 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.

- Don't be surprised to see him gone. Ambani was totally unimpressed with the tryout matches he saw.

____________________

- All those mentioned on the rumored on the outs are all but gone in most people's eyes. Ambani has said to signed the lower level guys to owner friendly contracts that are very easy to get out of. And with out much loss on the financial side.

Heavyweight Title Scene

Samoa Joe

To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 20 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.

- Ambani likes Samoa Joe, but worries about his weight issues. A candidate for the main event scene, but not necessarily ready for the belt.

AJ Styles

To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 20 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.

- Ambani loves AJ Styles, and said to have been very high on AJ Styles being in the main event scene.

Rob Van Dam

To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 20 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.

- Al though older Ambani is certain that Rob Van Dam is still a cornerstone of the main event scene. Ambani is certain about having Van Dam main eventing in the next few months.

Rhino

To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 20 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.

- Ambani likes Rhino, but is still questioning if he wants him in the main event scene. Ambani feels that the other 3 guys are 2 tool wrestlers, while Rhino is simply only good at brawling.

____________________

- So with that look at the main event scene those four names are certainly to be among the elite.
- AJ Styles is looked to the be the future of NWA
- Rob Van Dam is being looked at as someone to spark NWA up right away
- Rhino is the wild card. He could possibly get something going.
- Samoa Joe who's weight has been an issue as of late is said to be working out more, and on a plan. Ambani already has discussed issues with him.
- Your guess is good as mine on who will be the first NWA championship holder. But with the tourny coming up it's anyone's guess.

Impressive First Impressions
Wrestlers who aren't too well known who impressed Ambani

LuFisto

To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 20 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.

- LuFisto really impressed in her first match. Ambani has already mentioned her as being a major contender for the Women's title

Francoise

To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 20 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.

- Ambani is said to love Francoise on the mic, and feels like she needs a much biggere role already in NWA. Quiet the first impression.

Necro Butcher

To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 20 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.

- Many though Necro Butcher wouldn't be liked by Ambani, but shockingly they get along great. Necro has to be very pleasant backstage, and very friendly with everyone.

Well there you have it for the week in rumors. Until Next week...

A lot happened on the first edition of NWA Showcase. We saw Mick Foley & Randy Savage strike up a new friendship. Randy Savage the new General Manager has stated already in an interview that Mick will be with him to help him make all of his decisions. Don Callis & Jim Cornette tried to raise hell last week for Savage, but Savage has stated that they are banned from the back area. For the coming week we see the crowning of the new NWA Tag Team Champions, and we also see another title match with Kaz for the first time defending his Cruiserweight Championship Belt. Will Kaz retain the title, or will Jay Lethal end Kaz's streak at a week? Who will win between Beer Money Inc & LAX? And Samoa Joe shocked the World last night attacking Rhino. This week we'll see Samoa Joe face Rob Van Dam in one on one competition. With Violent Conduct 2 weeks away we are sure to see some matches shape up this week. Be sure to tune into NWA Showcase!

Tournament Announced

Originally planned as a larger tournament plans have been cut down. Bischoff, Foley, & Savage have come up with a 4 person tournament. The winners of each match on Showcase will go on to Violent Conduct. There we will see who is the first NWA Heavyweight Champion

AJ Styles vs Rhino

Kaz makes his way down to the ring showcasing his NWA Cruiserweight title. Jay Lethal is looking straight at Kaz, and picks up a mic. He quickly tells Kaz how that belt is his, and that he will soon take it. Kaz smirks, hits him over the head with the belt. Lethal gets layed out before the bell even rings. We go to commercial

Commercial

When we get back the match is underway, but Lethal is visibly shook up from the shot to the head. Kaz continues to work on Lethal, Kaz is getting most of the offense, as Lethal ends up catching some offense out of no where. Lethal continues on the offensive, until Kaz randomly hits him with a punch to the head. The ref warns him as Lethal is layed out. Kaz does some mat holds, and continues working on Lethal. Eventually Kaz hits the Hangman's neckbreaker followed into a DDT for the win. Lethal put up a good fight, but didn't have what it took today. Kaz retains the Cruiserweight Championship.

We go to the back where Scott Steiner is talking to a woman in the back. It's the first time we've seen her on tv, and her name is Cherrie as Steiner quickly called her Sweet Cherrie as he hit on her. She seems really uncomfortable with the whole interaction. He brings up how she has a match up next, and he has one later, and how they should out before to build up a sweat. She quickly pushed him off her, and walked away. The camera cuts out as Steiner starts smirking.

The crowd first reaction is negative, and they start to boo her. Just she wants. She gets on the mic, and cuts a promo on the crowd. She starts saying how everyone in New York is a piece of trash, and that the Yankees are terrible. She quickly asks how everyone likes Boston sports teams? And she goes on to tell everyone how it didn't matter because they were scum. Cherrie quickly hits her, and the crowd goes wild. Cherrie gets in some offense, but quickly gets pumbled by multiple punches to the head. Cherrie tries getting in more offense, but Mickie overpowers her. She Quickly hits the Whiskey Lullaby, and pins Cherrie for the win.

In the Back Jay Lethal bursts into Randy Savage's office as Mick Foley is sitting on the couch. Savage quickly gets angry at not knocking. They both soon get into a battle of words as Savage seems a little weirded out by how similar Lethal is with how he talks. Foley sits there laughing, as Jay Lethal demands a rematch for the Cruiserweight Title. Savage at first asks Lethal why he should get another shot if he just lost his match tonight? Lethal's charisma, and persistence quickly wins over Savage. Savage grants Lethal a rematch at the Violent Conduct PPV. Camera pans out as Lethal says OHhhhhhhhhhhh yaaaaaaaaaa I digggg it.

Lisa Moretti is standing by with MsChif, and MsChif quickly rips the mic away from her. She goes on to shoot on Amazing Kong, and how she can't believe Randy Savage told her how Kong has a match against her at Violent Conduct. Mickie Knuckles walks by and walks right up to MsChif. She tells her how she better watch her back, and that she's one bitch she doesn't want to screw with. MsChif seems a little worried about the confrontation. As Mickie Knuckles walks off. MsChif walks the other way, and Lisa Moretti is left standing by herself confused.

Rhino keeps working AJ Styles leg, and keeps up the pace. AJ Styles ducks a punch, and hits Rhino quickly with a drop kick. AJ Styles uses his speed to his advantage, and keeps the fast pace. Rhino is getting winded, and looks to be on the ropes. AJ Throws Rhino against the corner, and turns around to celebrate for a second. As he turns back around Rhino Gore's him to pick up the victory. Styles is layed out, as Rhino goes to get a chair. As he's going to hit Styles with it Christopher Daniels comes down, and attacks Rhino. Rhino quickly leaves the ring.

The crowd goes nuts as Rob Van Dam makes his entrance. As Samoa Joe comes down the crowd hates him. Booing him like crazy. As both men are in the ring, out comes Mick Foley. Foley gets in the middle of the two, and states that whoever wins this match gets to go against Rhino for a title shot. Whoever loses will go against AJ Styles at the same PPV Violent Conduct. Mick Foley exits the ring, and says have a nice dayy.

Commericial

Rob Van Dam & Samoa Joe lock up. Samoa Joe takes the early lead in the match. Joe gets some great offense in, and seems a step ahead of Van Dam in the match. Van Dam quickly recovers, and takes control. As Van Dam continues his offense Rhino comes down to ring side. Van Dam stops for a second, and this works against him. Van Dam goes for the pin 1 count. As Samoa Joe rests for a second, he quickly goes after Van Dam, and gains control. Rhino standing by the ring continues to look on. Van Dam gains back control, as Samoa Joe looks at Rhino looking on. Van Dam lays Samoa Joe out, and heads to the top rope. He hits the Five Star Frog Splash, and pins Joe for the victory. Rhino quickly gets in the ring, and starts fighting Van Dam. Samoa Joe eventually gets up, and AJ Styles comes down and starts to fight Joe. All four guys fight as we go to to commercial

Jim Cornette is in Randy Savage's office complaining about how Savage got Callis banned from Showcase. Savage stops Callis mid sentence, and tells him that he has no more say in anything having to do with making decisions. Cornette starts to scream at Savage, and tells him that he's got a new wrestler that is going to reek havoc on his show. Savage doesn't seem to care, and tells him to get out of his office.

Raven's in the back talking to Necro Butcher. Raven is discussing how important his words are, and that Necro should follow his ways. Necro doesn't seem to be biting though, as he quickly dismisses Raven telling him he does his own thing. Raven keeps pushing it on him, and eventually gives up once he realizes that Necro wasn't having any part in it. The match starts out with Scott Steiner getting the early offense. Steiner works on The Sandman some more. Out of the crowd we see someone going towards the ring. It's RAVENNN he runs in with a chair, and starts beating Steiner with it. Sandman quickly gets his kendo stick and starts beating down Steiner. A man comes running out to the ring, and we aren't sure who it is. We quickly soon realize it's none other than Tomko. No one even realized he was signed to NWA. Tomko runs into the ring, as Raven, and Sandman quickly leave. Raven, and Sandman are outside the ring looking at Tomko, who's came to the aid of Steiner. Steiner finally gets up, and grabs the mic. He tells Raven he's a dead man. He challenges Raven to a no dq match at Violent Conduct. Raven accepts.

Foley quickly starts discussing how Hero thought he was better than everyone else, and quickly told him that next week he had a great match up for him. Hero wondered who it was. NWA Invades The West Coast

Quote:
NWA who currently are on their first East Coast run, are set to invade the West Coast starting with the Violent Conduct PPV. NWA who's already had several events has really been picking up steam, and are ready to travel not only the United States, but soon the World. Mukesh Ambini who's been behind the scenes mostly has stated that he's ready to see NWA go anywhere, and everywhere. He also mentioned that the first tour dates have already seen strong numbers, and people are already seeing NWA starting to be the dominate force in the wrestling industry. NWA's next planned PPV July 12th Venue will be announced on Showcase Monday June 15th. And tickets will go on sale June 20th. Make sure to check back with NWA's website to check for updates, and tickets.

I think he's talking about this:
Quote:
Wrestlers on the outs
The following wrestlers are said to be very close to being let go

Davey Richards

- Ambani is generally bored with Richards. He has good speed, and is technically sound, but Ambani doesn't feel like he can do anything with him.
I also think he left out a question mark in his post.

Quote:
Ambani has reported on NWA's official website that Eric Bischoff has in fact walked out on the company. Bischoff generally was annoyed at a lot of the backstage politics within the company. He was particularly annoyed with having to work with Jim Cornette. Bischoff who is pretty well off financially said he couldn't be bothered to deal with such a company. Ambani has said that there will be an announcement on Friday's Showcase.
