Preview:
ECW on SCI-FI
21'st April
The WWE Universe was surely shaken up after the 2009 draft, but that was in the past. The future is now and ECW on Sci-Fi will showcase the wrestlers of the future. The likes of Evan Bourne, DJ Gabriel, Zack Ryder and Tyson Kidd will showcase why the have what it takes to belong in the land of extreme when the battle in a fatal four way match.
ECW Champion named himself the new poster boy of the WWE and on RAW he almost showed that by coming close to beating World Heavyweight Champion only to get hit with an attitude adjustment and a pin fall loss. On ECW he will get a chance to watch as Christian and Finlay battle it out for the number 1 contender ship to the ECW championship at Backlash. Who will get the shot at the all American, American?
New Interim GM Tiffany has settled into spot as General Manger how will she continue in her quest to become the permanent ECW GM? and how will the likes of Hurricane Helms, Big Zek, DH Smith and Natyla settle in their new home?
Finlay has been working full schedule for the WWE for about three or four years now and he has finally called it a day. This is one of the reasons Hornswoggle was drafted to RAW. Finlay is expected to continue his job as a road agent and to also help the ECW brand.
His final match is expected with Christian this week so i think we know the out come already.
Updates will be posted with any changes. There was also a little rumor he could be the new permanent GM of ECW. But hey that’s only a rumor, WWE and McMahon seem to be happy with Tiffany.
The young superstar is going to pop back down to Florida Championship Wrestling to work on a new gimmick. He was previously doing a New Terminator gimmick but that was dropped when he was brought up to the ECW roster with Alicia Fox whom is now residing on Smackdown.
It is believed he will still be on ECW until he gets his new gimmick with the roster being so small and the departure of Finlay immanent.
Will we see DJ Gabriel say " I'll be back" on ECW? or is there somthing else planned?
The word lately is that McMahon wants some new talent in ECW because of its very small roster. Talent from Florida Championship Wrestling as well as other promotions and Indies have been looked at to maybe add some much needed talent to the roster.
The names that have been talked about include former ECW and TNA superstar Marcos Cor Von aka Monty Brown.
Brown has not wrestled since he asked for his release from the WWE last year and is eager to jump back to where he was on the ECW roster.
Some Florida Championship Wrestling wrestlers have gotten the attention of WWE staff with their great performances on FCW TV. The likes of: Sheamus O’ Shaunessy, Drew McIntyre, Eric Escobar and Kaval are rumored to be close to a debut on one of the WWE’S main brands.
Kaval aka Low-Ki of ROH and TNA seems the most ready to get the push and it will be interesting to see if ECW will be the home of the warrior.
And finally WWE are rumored and yes this is only a rumor to be interested in two of ROH’s best talents in former ROH Champion Nigel McGuinness and rising star Tyler Black.
These are indeed only rumors but the Nigel McGuinnes link has come up before and the fact he has now lost the ROH Championship after holding it for so long there isn’t much left for him to do in the company. He has feuded with all ROH’s best and maybe its time for him to move on. Could the WWE and more importantly ECW be his new home?
Tyler Black on the other hand has it all to win in ROH, yes his a former ROH Tag Team Champion but the young star sees the ROH World Title in his future.
More as we get it on what could be a really be some great additions to the ECW roster.
Monty Brown has just posted a new Twitter on his Twitter account. He talks a little about the rumors linking him to a return to ECW.
" Just read i'm sopose to be heading back to the land of extreme, dont want to spoil things but i am..... not! those rumors are in no way true. The Aplha Male has other plans and i promise to my fans you will be informed soon. Peace!!! "
Speculation has rose of the possible departure of Nigel McGuinness from ring of honor. He has been linked with a move to World Wrestling Entertainment where he is believed to be wanted on the ECW roster.
Fresh reports say that WWE have sent some talent scouts to the ROH shows this weekend to check McGuinness out in person to see if he is indeed capable of wrestling for the WWE.
