| New Member | Re: My WWE RAW 27/07/09
We get a NoC recap video package showing Mickie's win over Maryse, Kofi retaining his title, Jericho & Show beating Legacy and Orton's fortuitous retaining of the WWE Championship.
Cole & Lawler welcome us to RAW in DC and John Cena comes out to kick off the show, he comes down to the ring with a serious look on his face. He gets on the mic, pauses, and tells us he doesn't really need to say anything, just that we need to look at this, and we get a package showing Orton tapping out last night at NoC. Once the vid ends, Cena says he wants HHH down here now. HHH's music hits, and he comes down to the ring, and he's about to talk when Cena tells him to shush and says just to confirm something we need to see it again. We see the package again and afterwards Cena says that's something's not right here, Randy Orton tapped out and is still the WWE Champion? He says Orton should not be champ and that this should be between him and HHH. HHH agrees, and says that Orton tapped so can't be champ, and that he or Cena should be champ, before saying that he thinks his sharpshooter was so unbearable Orton must have tapped to him, to a few laughs in the crowd. Cena retorts saying Orton only tapped after Cena locked in the Crossface so it must be Cena who he tapped out too. A few boos for this. Before either of them can say anything else Orton's music hits to a mass of boos.
Orton comes out and has a smirk on his face. He tells HHH and Cena they can bicker all they want, the fact remains he is STILL WWE Champion, and legally too, because there is no way the referee could officially call that submission because he has no ability to judge which submission caused it, so he could tap all he wanted because it wouldn't have changed a thing. He says he is rightfully the WWE Champion, and that HHH and Cena can bicker all they want, the fact is they lost, and as they don't have rematches they won't get another shot at his title. Lots of boos before Orton goes psycho to the crowd telling them to shut up and respect him, and reminds them he took out their hometown hero Batista, which gets even more heat.
Suddenly the guest host for tonight Shaq O'Neal comes on screen. He tells Orton that unfortunately he is legally WWE Champion, and that he has no reason to strip him of the title, but that he may well face either HHH or John Cena at Summerslam, because tonight we will have a 15-man Battle Royal with the winner going on to face Orton for the WWE title at Summerslam, and it will include BOTH The Game and Cena. He says also that Orton better get down to that ring, because he's in action right now.

We're back with Orton in the ring looking worried, before Mark Henry's music hits, and he comes down to the ring.Shaq comes back on screen and tells Randy that if he gets counted out or DQ'd or if Legacy interferes, he will strip him of the title. Orton looks incensed. Match 1: WWE Champion Randy Orton v Mark Henry
We start with Orton trying to avoid Henry, but he's eventually caught and pummelled in the corner. Henry dominates him with slams and punches, before setting Orton up by the turnbuckle. He ran in for a body splash but Orton dodged out the way, hit a dropkick, and Henry got tangled in the ropes. Orton started punching and kicking Henry, and went to charge at him, but Henry ducked and launched him over the ropes to the floor below, and in the process got free of the ropes. Henry went to the outside and bashed Orton all over the place, before World's Strongest Slamming him on the ring steps, and getting back in the ring. The referee started the count, and got to 6 before Orton stirred, and Cole reminds us Orton gets stripped of the title if he's counted out. Orton rolled in at 9, and is stomped on by Henry, who picks him up, goes for the World's Strongest Slam, but Orton escapes....
RKO!
Orton went for the cover...
1!
2!
...Kick Out!
Orton looked on in horror, as the ref says he only called 2. Orton gets us, sees Henry on his knees struggling to get up, and gets all psychotic and lines up the punt. He runs in, but Henry dodges and trips Orton up in the process, who goes headfirst into the turnbuckle. Orton, dazed, turns round into a World's Strongest Slam, and Henry picks up the pinfall victory. Winner-Mark Henry.
Henry celebrates, walks up the ramp where he meets Shaq, and they high five and raise each other's hands as Orton looks on in pain and anger as we go to commercial.

The Miz has come out to the ring. He gets on the mic and he says he's unhappy for 2 reasons, 1) Maryse got hurt by Mickie James last night and isn't here in Washington, and he tells us he had a great surprise for her tonight, which Lawler says he thinks Maryse won't really miss and 2) He lost in the US Title Battle Royal, and he says it was a fluke, and he wants Kofi Kingston right here, right now, and calls for a referee. After a little wait Kofi's music hits and we get a non-title match next.
*Summerslam promo vid-As the sun goes down the battle begins* Match 2: US Champion Kofi Kingston v The Miz.
Cole tells us both these guys will be in the Battle Royal later, and Lawler wonders if they're helping their chances by competing beforehand. A decent length match which ends with Kofi going for the enzuguri on Miz, who ducks and hits the ref, Kofi tries to help the ref up but gets hit by a low blow by Miz, who hits the Reality Check, and covers for a slow pin. Winner-The Miz.
The Miz celebrates up the ramp as Kofi clutches his head, and Lawler wonders if Miz might get a title shot after this victory.
Backstage we're with Orton, who has an icepack on his neck. Rhodes & DiBiase are wittering away in the corner and Orton asks them what they're on about. Rhodes says they're discussing their strategy for tonight, which is that they'll work together until it comes down to them at the end, then it's best man wins. Orton nods his head, before bringing them in close, and hissing "take out Henry...take out Cena, but whatever you do, get rid of HHH", DiBiase says that will be no problem, Orton says good, and Legacy leave Orton on his own in the locker room, nursing his wounds.

We're back with divas tag team action. Match 3: Divas Champion Mickie James & Kelly Kelly v Beth Phoenix & Rosa Mendes.
A lot of the match was Kelly being brutalised by Beth. The end came when Beth went for a Camel Clutch style manouever when Kelly flipped her over, and got the tag to Mickie, whilst Beth tagged Rosa. Mickie hit several flying clotheslines, and set Rosa up for the DDT, Beth tried to distract the ref, but Kelly came over and knocked Beth off the apron, Mickie hit the DDT for the pinfall. Winners-Mickie James & Kelly Kelly.
After Mickie raised the title at Beth, who motioned it round her waist, Mickie then blew her a kiss.
*ECW promo-this tuesday Christian will defend his ECW title in a NoC rematch against Tommy Dreamer*
Y2J's music hits, and he comes out in his ring attire. He gets on the mic and says he's happy he'd proved his point last night, by retaining his titles, and picking such a dominant partner in Big Show. He says he keeps promises he makes, unlike Edge and all the parasites in the crowd *huge heat*. He says they look up to people like Edge because he's always a victim, just like them, and like Edge they go and use other people to get them a better way of life, whilst he honestly works his way up the ladder and becomes the best fairly and by his own skill and talent. Out comes Shaq, the guest host, who laughs at Y2J. He says that he's watched WWE for years, and he remembers the Y2J who was the best and was the Undisputed Champion, which Y2J smirks to. But Shaq says nowadays Y2J is nothing but a coward, who begs for mercy when he's out of his depth, and cheats to win because he knows he's lost his touch and can't do it anymore, he says Jericho is the only pathetic parasite in this arena.
Jericho gets all angry and says Shaq should learn some respect, so to help he should meet his tag team partner, and out comes big show. Shaq and show size each other up, before Shaq suggests that the only reason Show is here is because Jericho couldn't beat Shaq himself. Jericho says he can beat anybody, so Shaq suggests he compete right now, it'll be Y2J v....The Big Show! Jericho looks horrified. Match 4: Chris Jericho v The Big Show.
Jericho cowers in the corner, Show smiles and says its ok we dont have to do this, he offers his hand to Y2J, who smirks and gets up, before Show grabs him by the neck and seems to go for the Chokeslam, before dropping Y2J, and laughes before walking off, whilst Jericho looks on relieved and bewildered, as does the rest of the crowd, Y2J wins via countout. Winner-Chris Jericho via Countout.
As Jericho gets back up, Shaq comes on the tron, and says Y2J may have got away tonight, but he's already booking a match for next week, to test the champs team skills, they will be in a non-title match against...Cryme Tyme, and if Cryme Tyme there'll be a title match at the PPV.

Carlito's in the ring, Jack Swagger comes out with a new pyro like Angle's, and is followed by Primo and MVP. Match 5: MVP & Primo v Jack Swagger & Carlito
Back and forth match, which ends with Primo tagging in MVP, and Swagger in Carlito. Carlito gets control after Swagger breaks up an MVP pin following a drive by, Carlito looks for the Backstabber, but Primo takes him out, before distracting Swagger, and MVP hits the playmaker and got the pinfall for the win. Winners-MVP & Primo.
HHH is backstage taping up. Cena enters and tells HHH that both of them should be fighting for the title, but the fact is only 1 can do so. He says they're 13 other men in there, and that they don't deserve a shot, they didn't make Orton tap out last night. Cena suggests they work together and eliminate everyone else, and then go 1 on 1 like it should have been originally. HHH says it's every man for himself, and he certainly doesn't want to help Cena get close to the WWE title, before leaving. Cena says "you get what you give", before we get a commercial.

In the ring we had people like Kofi, Swagger, Miz, MVP, Carlito, Henry, before HHH and Cena entered. Main Event: 15-Man Battle Royal for #1 Contendership to WWE Title at Summerslam
We get to a final 5 of Miz, Legacy and HHH and Cena. HHH gets distracted by Cena and they brawl, HHH went to throw Cena over, Cena held on, fell to the mat and suddenly Legacy came up and eliminated HHH, who looked furious on the outside. Miz then eliminated Rhodes after they turned round, and he and DiBiase brawled, Miz whipped DiBiase to the ropes, but HHH pulled the ropes down and DiBiase went over the top to the floor, and started attacking him and Rhodes, who try and escape through the crowd. It's down to Cena and Miz. Miz worked Cena over for a few minutes, but Cena tried to fight back, but Miz kneed him in the gut, and Cena fell onto the ropes. Miz sensing an opportunity, ran at Cena to knock him over the ropes, but Cena caught him in the FU and chucked him over the ropes to win the match and face Orton at Summerslam. Winner and NEW #1 Contender-John Cena
Cena struggled to his feet, and Orton sneaked in the ring behind him. Cena turned round and Orton hit an RKO, before raising the title over Cena as RAW goes off the air. |
