We have just learned that Chase Stevens will be making his return to TNA Wrestling at Lockdown in the Xcape Match. Andy Douglas, however, will not be joining him. Both men were offered contracts but Andy Douglas refused it. Chase Stevens, obviously, accepted. On top of that, a debut is expected for Lockdown. Dark Angel Sarah Stock has been under TNA Contract for a few weeks now and Lockdown is rumoured to be her debut. We assume it will be a multi-knockout match.

In other news, Karen Angle was backstage at iMPACT! this week adding some weight to the idea that she is the mystery investor in TNA. With the fact that L.A.X. made reference to the new investor buying Mick Foley’s shares (The one’s he only owns in the storyline and not in real life) means a storyline is likely to come from the real life events. Karen Angle divorced Kurt Angle last year, so she had no real reason to be at iMPACT! otherwise.

We have gotten several reports that TNA Talent Scouts were spotted at recent Ring of Honor events. With ROH now having a TV deal, TNA may be trying to steal their top stars before they get some widespread exposure. We should however mention that the reports are still unconfirmed at this point.

Re: TNA: Under new Management

TNA iMPACT! Preview
April 2nd 2009

The Main Event on iMPACT! This week will see the Main Event Mafia Leader Sting take on the Frontline Leader AJ Styles in singles action. The winner of the match, will get first entry and thus a one man advantage in Lethal Lockdown. The last time these two faced each other one on one, Sting got the victory.

A preview match of sorts is also scheduled for iMPACT! As Scott Steiner & Booker T of the Main Event Mafia take on Samoa Joe & a partner of his choosing. The stakes are not as high as in the main event, but momentum is a must have for both sides, and this, is an ideal place to start.

TNA X-Division Champion Jimmy Rave will compete for the first time since winning the title at Lockdown as he goes one on one with Kiyoshi. Alex Shelley is sure to be keeping a close eye on his future opponent.

Following the attacks by Homicide and Hernandez of the L.A.X. in recent weeks, TNA Shareholder Mick Foley has asked for both men to meet him in the ring so they can settle this once and for all. Foley was on the wrong end of and L.A.X. beating last week, how will he react when he gets up close with them this week?

You will also see Team 3D, Eric Young, Awesome Kong and Kurt Angle aswell as many more this Thursday on iMPACT!

Re: TNA: Under new Management

This wholeinvestor thing is very intriguing, and you're foreshadowing Karen Angle, but a little too much, which makes me think it won't be her.

Jimmy Rave Rave inaction, ftW. Kiyoshi, not so much. But I'm guessing it's just build to Rave and then to his feud with Shelley.

Looks good.

April 2nd 2009

We open iMPACT! with Kurt Angle already in the ring. Angle has set up a steel chair in the centre and has a mic in hand. Once he is sure we are on the air he begins to talk. Kurt Angle announces that he is staging a sit down protest right here, right now. Angle says iMPACT! is not going any further until he gets what he wants. Revenge against Jeff Jarrett for turning the Mafia against him. After several minutes Jeff Jarrett makes his entrance. Jarrett once again tells Angle that he is retired and will have to come up with something else to take his anger out on. Jarrett calls security to the ring to remove Angle. Angle resists but is overpowered and dragged backstage.

Backstage now to Lauren who is standing by with Team 3D. Brother Ray says quite simply they are sick and tired of the run in’s by L.A.X. and want to put an end to it. Team 3D invite L.A.X. to show up at Lockdown and make the TNA World Tag Team Championship match a three way match.

Sheik Abdul Bashir & Doug Williams

Doug Williams finally made his TNA iMPACT! debut but didn’t have a night to remember as he and first time partner Sheik Abdul Bashir fell victim to the young duo of Creed and Young. Bashir thought he had the match won when he hit Young with the W.M.D. but Young kicked out. Creed gained the big advantage when he hit Bashir with the Creed-D-T. Williams took Creed out with the Towers of London before Young took Williams down with the Death Valley Driver for the three count.

Result: Eric Young & Consequences Creed via Pinfall.

Backstage to the Main Event Mafia’s locker-room. The Mafia have the locker-room set up for an elaborate press conference. After a short wait, Booker T, Kevin Nash and Scott Steiner make their entrance. Nash steps to the front and tells the world that the Main Event Mafia will be opening its doors to give one lucky TNA Star one chance to become a future legend. Nash says they will be scouting the entire roster and next week, they will announce the fourth man for the Lethal Lockdown team and the newest member of the Main Event Mafia.

As Mike Tenay and Don West argue about the Mafia opening its door’s for one lucky person, Mick Foley makes his way to the ring. Once in the ring Foley wastes no time in calling out L.A.X. After making the world wait, Homicide and Hernandez make their entrance via the crowd. Mick Foley asks the L.A.X. what their reasons for viciously attacking Jim Cornette were. Homicide tells Foley that Cornette was there to be made an example of. Homicide then says Foley could also be in line to be made and example of. Hernandez takes over and tells us that they are not happy with the way TNA have been treating them. Hernandez says they are going back to their roots, and there will be casualties along the way. With that, Homicide hits Foley from behind with a slapjack to catch him completely off guard. Hernandez then uses one arm to choke slam Foley and make another example of him. Homicide again gets the mic and tells Team 3D that they will accept the offer and become TNA World Tag Team Champions once again at Lockdown.

Samoa Joe & Jay Lethal

Jay Lethal was announced as the third man for the Frontline’s Lethal Lockdown team before the match started making it Sting, Booker T, Scott Steiner and a fourth man against Samoa Joe, AJ Styles, Jay Lethal and a fourth man. Both sides are evenly matched and it showed in the preview match as neither team could gain a clear advantage. The match was ultimately decided when Kevin Nash got involved and got his team Disqualified as Lethal was looking to hit his Diving Elbow onto Steiner.

Result: Samoa Joe & Jay Lethal via Disqualification.

Nash got in several shots before Steiner and Booker took over. A three on one ambush followed until Samoa Joe recovered and cleaned house. Joe took Nash out of the ring with a stiff kick to the head before he chased off Steiner and Booker who decided to fight another day.

We go backstage now where we see BG James talking to some of the production crew. We don’t hear what is being discussed but what we do get is Kurt Angle. Angle, having gotten away from the security has decided to follow up on his threat of forcing Jarrett to accept the match by attacking one of his best friends. Angle sends BG in several walls before laying him out with an Angle Slam. Angle gets a few more kicks in before security find him and again try to remove him from the arena.

Jimmy Rave

The new TNA X-Division champion is wrestling for the first time as champion on iMPACT! And he was given one hell of a run for his money by the Japanese newcomer. Kiyoshi used a unique offence to catch Rave off guard but Rave simply refused to be beaten. Kiyoshi thought he was going to get the roll up victory when Alex Shelley made his entrance causing Jimmy Rave to lose focus. Rave overcame the set back and Rocked Kiyoshi’s World to pick up the three count.

Result: Jimmy Rave via Pinfall.

The final bell was yet to ring when Alex Shelley jumped Rave to begin a post match beating. Shelley took full advantage of Rave being worn down by the match and hit Rave with the Sliced Bread followed by two consecutive Shell Shocks to send a message to his opponent at Lockdown. Shelley gazed at the title belt he used to hold before dropping it onto Rave’s chest and walking away.

ODB & Roxxi

Roxxi was been gaining more and more momentum in recent weeks and is starting to look like a threat to Awesome Kong’s title reign. This tag match went a long way in showing that Roxxi is up for the fight. Saeed tried her best to keep Kong out of the match so that she would not risk any injury while at the same time trying to keep Roxxi in to try and cause an injury. Saeed in clearly concerned that Roxxi can beat Kong at Lockdown. ODB eventually took Saeed out of action to allow the showdown between Kong and Roxxi. Both Knockouts put everything into their shots and Kong came out on top. Kong stunned Roxxi with her spinning back fist before hitting the Implant Buster to pick up the three count.

Result: Awesome Kong & Raisha Saeed via Pinfall.

Following the match, Kong decided to try and soften up Roxxi again. Kong took a kendo stick into the ring to ensure maximum damage. Kong stalked Roxxi but ended up taking out ODB with the kendo stick as she tried to save Roxxi. Roxxi went on the offence and sent Kong running into retreat when she picked up the kendo stick. For the second time, Roxxi has not only survived an attempted beat down by Kong, but has thrived.

TNA Founder Jeff Jarrett makes his way to the ring next with a mic in hand. Jarrett is pissed with Angle for attacking his friend earlier tonight and lets the world know it. Jarrett tells Angle that if he wants a match at Lockdown, he’s got a match at Lockdown. Jarrett then adds a warning for Angle. Jarrett says if Angle thought he was pissed off before, just wait until they meet again at Lockdown. Jarrett says he wont be holding back anymore, he doesn’t care about doing the right thing or business anymore. Jarrett says at Lockdown, he will end Kurt Angle’s career.

AJ Styles

The Main Event on iMPACT! This week had a lot on the line. Whoever scored the victory in this match would win the vital first entry spot for his team at Lethal Lockdown giving them a one man advantage for five minute periods. With such high stakes, neither man was willing to make a mistake and as a result we saw a very cagey match. Styles missed his Flying Forearm but quickly rolled out of the ring to recover and avoid giving Sting the upper hand. The match looked to be over when Sting missed a Stinger Splash in the corner to allow Styles to connect with the Pele kick but Sting got his foot on the bottom rope at two. Styles set up for the Styles Clash but Sting fought it off and managed to turn it around and somehow got himself in position for the Scorpion Death Drop. Sting dropped Styles on the back of his head and picked up the three count for the Main Event Mafia.

Result: Sting via Pinfall.

The Main Event Mafia were eager to gain another advantage after the match as they looked to weaken Styles in a four on one beating. Sting locked Styles in the Scorpion Death Lock as Nash, Booker and Steiner took the cheap shots. Samoa Joe and Jay Lethal made the run in but were unable to overcome the odds. Rhino was next to try and four against four was enough to even it out as the Frontline fought back. Rhino hit Sting with the Gore to put the Frontline on top but then walked into the Carbon Footprint from Matt Morgan. Morgan followed up with a Choke slam on Jay Lethal as Steiner and Booker double teamed Samoa Joe in the corner. Nash and Sting meanwhile pull Styles back to his feet and send him to Morgan for the Hellavator. The Main Event Mafia stand tall in the ring amidst the carnage as Matt Morgan appears to have been selected by the Mafia to join their elite group to end the show.

Re: TNA: Under new Management

I'm banking on Matt Morgan being the guy MEM choose. He just fits right in with the WWE/WCW level guys. Either him or Robert Roode.

I've said this about a thousand times, but Alex Shelley vs. Rave is epic....especially with Shelley as the Heel. I'm hoping he wins.

Glad Sting went over. I like AJ better, just giving the Legend the advantage is smart.

Nice show, can't wait for Lockdown.

April 9th 2009

IMPACT! Opens this week with the Main Event Mafia on their way to the ring. Sting leads the line followed by Kevin Nash, Booker T and Sharmell with Scott Steiner at the back. Once in the ring Nash takes the mic and announces what we all suspected since last week’s show. Matt Morgan is indeed the newest member of the Mafia.

Morgan makes his way out to the ring on cue dressed in an expensive suit like the rest of the Mafia are. Morgan climbs into the ring and thanks Sting for giving him this opportunity. Just as Morgan was about to give a speech, Kurt Angle interrupts.
The former Main Event Mafia leader makes his way to the ring with a look of confuse meant on his face. In the ring, Angle questions the addition of Morgan. Angle says he started the Mafia as an elite group, Angle then accepts he was voted out but will not accept the Mafia replacing him with someone so inferior. Morgan takes exception to those comments and offers to prove himself against Angle, tonight. Angle accepts the challenge for later tonight.

Suicide, Consequences Creed and Shark Boy

The first match of the evening saw many different styles as an Iranian, an Englishman and a Japanese wrestler took on three Americans. Shark Boy was targeted as the weak link by the international team and thus was isolated from his corner for much of the match. Shark Boy got a lucky break when Kiyoshi and Williams collided during an attempted double team. Shark Boy made it back to safety and tagged in Suicide. Suicide wasted no time in showing his ability in the ring and almost won the match within a few seconds but Bashir broke the count. This prompted Creed to return to the action and a six man brawl ensued in which Shane Sewell lost all aspects of control. Sewell stood back and let them go at it. Eventually the ring cleared down to just Bashir and Suicide. Suicide attempted the D.A.O. but Bashir blocked it. Bashir took a short cut by raking the eyes of Suicide before connecting with the W.M.D. for the three count.

Result: Sheik Abdul Bashir, Doug Williams and Kiyoshi via Pinfall.

Bashir made sure that Shane Sewell raised his arm after the match to let him know that he has not forgotten about their history.

Brutus Magnus comes to the ring next. Magnus is not scheduled to wrestle tonight and thus demands a mic. Magnus keeps it short and simple. Magnus claims it is a disgrace that someone of his ability isn’t on the Pay Per View card. Magnus says he will take matters into his own hands once again and prove to TNA Management that he is the real deal. Magnus goes on to issue an open challenge to not just TNA, but to anyone in the world. Magnus remains confidant of victory and even goes so far as to guarantee it.

Samoa Joe and Rhino

Four of the toughest guys in TNA locked up in a battle simply to continue momentum ahead of Lockdown. With the Mafia already getting the first entry into Lethal lockdown, the Frontline needs a big win to get them back on track. Both sides were evenly matched and no-one was giving away anything. Booker and Steiner were able to take advantage whenever the chance came. Booker caught Rhino with the Axe Kick while Steiner had the referee distracted. Joe tried to intervene but ended up hurting Rhino as Steiner and Booker double teamed him. Steiner put Rhino in the Steiner Recliner and Joe has had enough. Joe leaves the ring but quickly re-enters on the far side. Joe connects with a knee to the head of Steiner as Booker inadvertily distracted Andrew Thomas. Joe hit a T-Bone suplex before Rhino hit the Gore on Steiner. Joe took out Booker to allow Rhino to pick up the three count.

Result: Rhino and Samoa Joe via Pinfall.

Booker dragged Steiner out of the ring and helped him backstage as the Mafia take a big hit just days before Lockdown.

We go backstage now where Lauren is standing by with the Motor City Machine Guns. Alex Shelley is confidant of regaining his X-Division Championship at Lockdown as Jimmy Rave stole it at Destination X. Shelley says there will not be anymore mistakes on his part as the stakes are too high right now. Chris Sabin on the other hand tells Shelley to relax and even if he doesn’t win at Lockdown, its not the end of the world. Sabin says he will be winning the Steel Asylum and becoming the number one contender anyway. Sabin says the worst case scenario is Sabin vs. Rave at Sacrifice, whereas the best case scenario is Sabin vs. Shelley. Either way, the X-Division title is coming back to Detroit.

Jimmy Rave and Eric Young

High paced action like you’d expect from four of the best in the X-Division. Even though it wasn’t a title match, these four treated it like one as they all put everything into getting the win. Rave thought he had it won when he Rocked Chris Sabin’s World but Shelley was on hand to break it up. Shelley likewise thought he had it won when he hit the Sliced Bread on Young but Rave this time broke it up. Shelley and Rave, somewhat predictably, targeted each other and ended up exchanging shots on the outside. In the ring, Eric Young got Sabin up for the Death Valley Driver but was unable to connect. Sabin slipped out and got Young up for the Cradle Shock, which Sabin was able to connect with and pick up the win for his team.

Result: The Motor City Machine Guns via Pinfall.

Shelley and Rave continued their exchange on the outside until Chris Sabin intervened. Sabin clipped the knee of Rave from behind and Shelley took advantage. Shelley drove Rave head first into the ramp with a snap DDT. Shelley and Sabin stand over Rave for the second week running.

We go to the office of Knockout Law Traci Brooks next where she is waiting to make an announcement regarding Lockdown. Traci, with SoCal Val beside her, announced the return of the Queen of the Cage match. Ten TNA Knockouts start on the outside and fight to get into the cage. The first two to successfully enter the cage will then face off in a straight up one on one match. The winner, will face the TNA Knockouts Champion at Sacrifice.

Matt Morgan

Morgan used his vast size advantage to his advantage and dominated Angle for much of the match. Despite the beating being dished out, Angle was able to take it and fight back showing his toughness. Angle thought he had stolen the match with a quick Angle slam but Morgan kicked out. Morgan hit back with the Carbon Footprint but his cockiness allowed Angle time to recover. Morgan pulled Angle to his feet to attempt the Hellavator. Angle fought it and caught Morgan with a Small Package to gain the three count and the win.

Result: Kurt Angle via Pinfall.

Following the match Morgan went on the offence again as he jumped Angle to teach him a lesson in pain. Angle tried to fight it off and received help from an unlikely source. AJ Styles, eager to get some momentum going before Lockdown took it to Morgan. Scott Steiner and Booker T ran in to outnumber Styles prompting a run in from Samoa Joe and Jay Lethal. Kevin Nash and Sting once again put the Mafia in control before Rhino made his presence felt with a Gore on Booker. Kurt Angle took a cheap shot at Sting with a Low Blow from behind before he made his getaway leaving the Mafia to battle the Frontline in the ring. Angle watched the carnage from the ramp way for a few seconds before turning into a Guitar shot from Jeff Jarrett. Jarrett mounted Angle and went to town with right hands. TNA Security move in but they are going to need a lot of help to separate these men anytime soon. The carnage continues as we go off the air.
